  1. Easy to set up, move and use. Amazon roman chair reviewThis about the adjustable angle Sunny health & Fitness Hyperextension Roman Chair. I specify that because there was no way to differentiate the Amazon reviews when I was doing my research and most reviews were for the basic model.Fyi, I’m 5’11” or 181cm and 168lbs or 76kg. Overall I’m very satisfied with the purchase and I’m hopeful that it will play a big role in strengthening my back and overall core.Things are like:1.I can easily do reverse hyper-extensions. This was a big thing for me and almost no reviews mentioned this.2. The cushions on the foam rollers, the part that helps secure your legs, are more than adequate. I expected less cushioning so it was a nice surprise.3. The foam rollers aren’t fixed. You can tighten it into one position and maybe you’re supposed to do that, but I’ve found that leaving this loose allows the foam rollers to easily move to a “just-right” position for whatever I’m using it for.4. I can do side obliques, reverse hyper-extensions, sit-ups, dips and push ups. If your upper body is already very strong you won’t get any value doing push-ups, but if you’re recovering from an injury or starting out building upper body strength this works quite nicely.5. I can secure elastic exercise bands to the handles, and use the entire unit as a counterweight for adduction and abduction exercises. I’m sure you can find other places to secure exercise bands to do a whole range of other exercises.6. Painting the adjustable leg red is a nice touch as you always want to be clear where this brace is positioned before you use the chair.7. The base of the red adjustable leg extends out in opposite directions to form a large “T-base” that gives an extra sense of security that this swivel-leg doesn’t slip out from under you when you’re exercising. No other similar product from competitors, that I have seen, have a swivel base that extends out to form a similar “T-base”.8. It was easy to set up. In fact, the only thing you have to do is secure the foam pads (where your hips rest) to the frame. And that’s it; ready to use. Each pad requires four screws that come with the unit.9. The entire unit is heavy enough to make you feel secure but light enough to be lifted very easily.10.The little wheels at the base allows you to wheel the unit to wherever you like. Very helpful as you don’t want to lift it up all the time and many times I just want to collapse it and wheel it to a nearby wall. What I don’t like:1. The hip pads are a bit hard. Some more padding would be appreciated.2. There is no guidance about how high to adjust the frame so as to avoid hurting your back, or discomfort for men if they set the height too low. When too low the split between the pads caused me much discomfort. The split between the two pads is marketed as a benefit to men, but I’ve laid face down on many a bench and my boys have never felt uncomfortable. With this split between the pads, I now have to be careful about how my boys “fit” or don’t fit into the gap. The current height adjustment I use means that my boys are mostly at the bottom of the pads where the pads begin and the gap is widest. Women of course will not have any issues. My point though is that one thickly cushioned pad would have been preferable to me.3. The knob to secure the slideable central beam doesn’t give a smooth “slide and click” experience. It took some playing around with it before I found my correct height, and also felt it securely click in place. This is not a problem as I’m the only one using the chair. I don’t think this will be a real issue even if you have to change the height often as I’m sure you’ll get the hang of pulling the knob and sliding it to the click sound.4. One of the supplied screws was defective and I had to go to hardware and hunt for one that would work. Would be nice if they could have checked them beforehand or just supplied a couple extra in case of this problem.5. It is just a bit shaky but every competitor’s product that is based on only one central support instead of support on each side (below each of your arms) will wobble. That’s unavoidable, and the wobble only occurs when you are getting on or off the machine as most people will invariably favour one side of their body first when they mount or dismount the chair. The good news is that it doesn’t seem at all unsafe. There is nothing I have done that gave me the slightest concern that it would tip over in any direction.Concerns:Over the long term, I wonder how well the frame will stand up to corrosion. If I was over 250 lbs I’m not sure the unit would feel as secure.Overall, for the price, I think this is a really good buy and I highly recommend it.

No room for your male organs. Metal is solid, all the holes lined up, clear directions, even the hardware is labeled for each step. And it went together without a problem. There are 3 issues to consider:1. The main issue is the two pads that you rest your pelvic area on are very close together leaving almost no room for your testicles or your shaft so everything is smashed up. This might not be a issue with every guy. I’m able to reposition at the beginning of each set to where it’s bearable.2. Although the metal is strong, the entire thing is just flimsy when doing dips. It does just fine for hypertensions, but wobbles around when doing dips.3. In addition to being wobbly during dips it’s also a little too small for doing dips. My knees just touch the ground at the bottom of my rep. I’m 6’ tall. With that being said, it folds up nice and the wheels are nice for moving it around.I think for the price and storage size you won’t get any better. So if you don’t have room for a bigger non-folding dip bar, I would get this.If your mainly concerned about doing hyperextensions this thing will do. The dip bars are nice for getting on and off the machine.Just have to watch the testes.

Needs weighted lower rolls. The padded rolls that hold your feet down at the ankles are far too light. But the quality of this piece of equipment is otherwise high. The price is low and I’d buy it again. Just wrap 5 pound Velcro leg weights to each ankle roll.

Functional for the price. I had no problem putting this bench together. I’ve put equipment tougher than this together by myself. I used real tools for a better grip. All the bolts, nuts etc. are packaged and numbered. You should take your time and read instructions carefully as it will make assembly go easier. I am 5.1 so I had to take out the pin for the adjustable hip pad, completely. The post now rests right under the cushioned pad and hopefully won’t wear and rub the pad to damage it. The pad is a bit wobbly and still a bit higher than I like but it should work okay. I am short and at 124 lbs I did feel a little unstable at first. At first I felt like I would take a header but the handlebars keep stability. This extension bench is good and basic for a home gym. For the price I think it will serve the purpose of working my lower back core muscles.

  6. Overall good quality, but not very comfortable for guys. I am very happy with the quality, the assembly was very easy and great documented. But as a guy it is missing extra space for more comfortable usage 🙁 there might be different pads that i can use?

  7. Good Machine. This is a decent machine for the price, and was fairly easy to assemble. It looks more complicated when you first unbox but isn’t bad.The adjustable height is a nice feature but nothing holds it in place from side to side so there is some instability. I only weigh 150lbs so not a huge issues. I would buy again.

  8. a headline. Good price. Assembly instructions “OK,” but not great. Hardware required a few tweaks that likely applied to the particular unit I received and that I hadn’t been prepared for. All in all, though, I think it will meet my needs just fine and I’m glad to have it.

  9. Love it but…. …hurts your junk if you’re a guy. Folds up nicely and solid build for the price. Assembly is self explanatory and took like ten minutes.

  10. Works Great (kinda). It is easy to put together and you can take out 1 pin to fold it down to put it away. I am 5 foot 2 inches and I had to take out the pin all the way and stand on my tippy toes to do the workout.

  11. Way better than I even thought it would be. This is a budget option that I thought would be wobbly, but it isn’t. It’s very sturdy, and well built. It delivers on all of it’s promises, and feels very safe. It’s heavy enough to inspire confidence, but light enough to easily fold up and wheel into a corner when not in use. I’m surprised that they don’t show this in the images or video, but it does stand up on it’s own when folded away. You just have to be carful of your floors because of the metal edge on the foot plates. If they added some rubber to those it would be perfect. I might do that myself.

  12. Easy to build. Pretty good lil’ machine for the price. It’s adjustable, but not too adjustable? Do wish the ankle padding was a little softer though. But it does the job it’s meant to do.

  13. Great for improving back and core. Super sturdy. Folds up compactly for storage when not in use. A great addition to a home gym!

  14. Great Product. This Roman Chair is awesome!!! It arrived quickly and I was able to put it together in less than 30 minutes. The directions were very easy to understand, and all the nuts and bolts are kitted, so you don’t have to figure out which washers go with which bolts. The chair is very well made, and very sturdy. It sets well on our floor, and we are able to fold it up quickly and roll it away for storage if needed. My husband and I both use it to strengthen our core muscles. My husband weighs 190 lbs. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

  15. Rating 5 Star but. This would be a 4.5 star if it was an option. The cost to get what this offers is so much cheaper than commercial grade ones, but just know a couple of these issues below-The washers it comes with are terrible, you will want to not even use them-You will need to tighten screws with Allen wrench every few uses-The design to increase/decrease angle is always preferred to be like this where you don’t have to screw an unscrew anything, but it makes it slightly less stable-The pad caps are pretty funky, they stick out as some other pictures have shown.HOWEVER, definitely still got to give 5 stars. the ankle pad design where it flips up instead of just being locked in is so perfect. The hip pads are REALLY firm, I would almost prefer them to be a little squishier but they will last longer and are better for the exercises. Everything is metal. Also I am 220 pounds, stockier build so people who weigh less will probably have basically no wobble, and even I have very little wobble like very very little so I could see people who weigh quite a bit more than me being able to use this.Just tighten the screws regularly and don’t use the washers and this is the perfect roman chair for the price.
