My new go-to! Worked great on multiple short haired dogs with different coats. No extra effort – and best of all no skin damage. The media could not be loaded. Oh man. I had some doubts going into this, and this little brush doesn’t look like much, but those doubts were squashed from the first time I used it. I have 4 dogs: a Rottweiler/GSD mix, a Kelpie, and 2 beagles. Each one of my dogs, though all short haired coats that shed, have very different coat types. This worked exceptionally well on ALL of them – no need to carry around 2-3 different brushes anymore. My beagles (ages 13 and 14) hate being brushed. My big dogs tolerate it. The Kelpie sheds like no other dog I’ve ever met (including GSDs – which I used to think were the worst). All 4 of my dogs tolerated being brushed with this very well (the beagles still weren’t completely happy, but they’re cranky old ladies to begin with). The big dogs even laid down while I was brushing them – something that has never happened. My old trusty brush was the Furminator. The beagles wouldn’t let me use it on them, they would squirm and whine and their skin would crawl with each stroke – so they mostly got a bye on brushing. The big dogs tolerated it, but after some time would walk away because it would hurt. The Rottie mix has a mole on her neck that I’ve snagged and actually broken open a time or two while brushing with the Furminator. I know the Furminator is horrible for a dog’s skin, but it was literally the ONLY thing that worked on the Kelpie (I tried rakes, I tried dematting combs, I tried stripping combs). This brush is now my new go-to. It works a lot like the Furminator (or a stripping comb)….but is MUCH MUCH gentler on the dog’s skin. No skin crawling, no breaking open lumps and moles, and I was even able to brush the sensitive areas on the neck, flank, and tail. The Furminator likely will take off a little bit more hair with each stroke than this little comb, but if you stick with this guy, he will do the job just as well WITHOUT ruining your dog’s skin. It really doesn’t take much more effort than the Furmintor. I tried them both one after the other today stroke by stroke just to see the difference – it wasn’t a landslide by one or the other, but the SleekEZ wins because it didn’t damage the skin and the dogs tolerated it better. I was even able to use it “against the grain” on their “pants” (backs of their legs – the floofiest part) without any fuss from any of the dogs. Plus it’s a fraction of the price. The best part? You don’t have to “empty” the brush – the hair will blow right off with each stroke – it sometimes will collect at the base of the brush around your hand and the wooden handle, but not enough to impede performance and if you want to clear it just blow on it and off it flies. Now if you brush indoors this may be a problem with the hair flying around the house, but brushing indoors is just asking for a mess to clean up.If you’re just looking to brush a dog or a cat, the small 2.5″ size would be fine – it fits perfectly in my hand and is still small enough to get the sensitive/hard to reach areas (neck, back of legs, flank area, tails).I’ve attached a video of me brushing my Kelpie with this brush – the first time I used it on her. We had been brushing for about 10 minutes before I took the video – still getting fur flying like crazy (she is a shedding machine – don’t think the brush wasn’t doing it’s job – it was, she just has THAT much hair) and she was relaxed enough to lay down and just let me do work!

  2. A GREAT tool to use alongside a slicker brush. Short review: This tool does exactly what I need it to do: gently and efficiently remove loose hair, even from the fluffiest, densest undercoat areas and hard-to-reach spots. All in all, this is an excellent grooming tool, and one I’ll be using in every daily grooming session from now on. When used alongside a regular slicker brush, it makes my medium hair cat’s coat super sleek, and soft. The only slight drawbacks are the way shed fur is collected, and the design of the handle—in my opinion, very minor considerations in what is an otherwise excellent tool. More detailed review below:It’s important to know that—for medium to long haired pets at least—this tool is not enough to maintain a nice coat. It MAY be sufficient to maintain short coats, but I definitely still need to use a slicker brush for my medium hair cat. That said, this tool serves a very useful purpose and does a better job than the slicker brush in that specific aspect; I think it is a must-have for pet owners dealing with medium to long haired pets.I first use a slicker brush over my cat’s entire body, to remove any debris from the coat, to distribute the natural oils along the length of the hairs and make the coat shiny, and to brush through any clumped or tangled hair before it turns into mats. In my opinion, the SleekEZ does not perform these functions simply because the teeth of the comb are not long enough to do so. I then use the SleekEZ to gently pull out loose hair, particularly from the neck, belly, and between the hindquarters—dense, fluffy areas that tend to shed a lot but can be hard to reach with a brush. I find that short, overlapping strokes work best for this. Then I make another quick pass over the whole coat with the slicker brush to pick up any bits of shed fur the SleekEZ left lying on top of the coat. The result is a VERY sleek, soft, shiny coat with no loose bits of fur sticking out. I was surprised at how much fur the SleekEZ pulled out the first time. My cat’s coat definitely appears less bulky, especially in the areas I mentioned, after a thorough combing with the SleekEZ; I suspect that’s simply due to removing the dead hair that was ready to be shed. The small size is perfect for cats; I wouldn’t use anything larger. My cat is very calm and comfortable while I use this tool, so it is clearly gentle and not painful. While he always enjoys being groomed, he normally wiggles and flops around when I use the slicker brush, which I suspect is because those type of bristles have a more stimulating sort of feeling. But he is perfectly still for the SleekEZ, which must feel less intense in comparison. For that reason, I would recommend it for people with cats who are fussy about being groomed.I only have two small negative comments about this tool: 1) While using it, the shed fur doesn’t stick together or collect in the brush as it does in a conventional slicker brush. I find that some clings to the wooden part of the tool, which takes a few moments to pick and rub off. And the rest just gets pulled out to lay on top of the coat here and there. The SleekEZ website suggests that the shed fur will all neatly stick together; that is not the case. It may differ depending on the texture of your pet’s hair, but I’ve found that much of the shed fur pulled out by the SleekEZ ends up in lots of bits of fluff lying all over on top of the coat, necessitating a quick once-over with the slicker brush to pick them all up. 2) The handle of this tool is not great at all, neither in shape nor material. I appreciate simplicity, but it seems a really odd design choice because it’s simply not comfortable or natural to hold. I saw on the SleekEZ website a version with a silicone handle, but that one is still in the same odd shape, so in my view wasn’t really an improvement. Of course, this has no bearing on the effectiveness of the tool itself, and I’m not using it long enough in one sitting to feel discomfort from holding it. I just think the handle wasn’t as thoughtfully designed as the actual comb was.

  3. YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING THIS. WOW! I am blown away at how good this works! I was skeptical because it is unlikely most deshedding brushes. But I am so glad I took a chance. My dog has short hair and is 55 pounds. She’s a pittie. I got the 2.5″ brush and it worked out perfectly. I knew there was dead hair on her that my other brush just was not removing, but I was still shocked at how much hair i removed after just five minutes. And she enjoyed it more than her other brush. (If you rub it on your skin there is discomfort, but I rubbed it on my head against my hair and I felt no discomfort, so don’t be alarmed if it hurts your skin)I will forever swear by this brush and will tell everyone I know with a dog about it.

  4. Holy Dog Hair. I’ve been searching for the perfect brush for my 2 year old bulldog. He LOVES to be brushed so much that he can’t sit still for it. So brushing is kinda challenging.THIS THING IS AWESOME! Not only did he LOVE it so much that he laid down and started grunting and moaning (which he does when you get a good itchy spot normally), the amount of hair that WAS on this short haired baby is insane! I only did a short/small patch and… well just look at the pic.I don’t think the hair normally flies around this much, but I wasn’t smart and did this in front of a fan. But it clumps as you brush so you can just grab it and throw it away.Worth the money! 100%. And I was skeptical/hesitant to buy it. But now I just regret not buying sooner.

  5. By far the best brush out there. No questions asked. I have a pup that sheds like no other. I was brushing him almost every single evening yet he was still shedding like crazy. No matter how much I brushed or bathed him there was still hair everywhere. I Finally decided to look for something other then ur standard dog brush and thats when I came across this one. Woah. It was mind blowing when I first started brushing him (considering I had just brushed him the night before) trey the hair just kept coming off. You cant brush too long in any one area and I wouldn’t suggest brushing too often with it. Definitely not daily. I do it weekly bc its almost as if Its “trimming”or “shaving” off the under coat which I imagine plays an important role in dogs/animals health n well being hence them having it in the first place. So I figured if you over brush it could have negative or unwanted side effects. Obviously nothing life threatening or serious just some dry or aggravated skin. Which is why I would also recommend using a moisturizer after your done brushing them whether it be a moisturizing shampoo or a dog lotion bc it does seem to take out the old dead hair and even dead skin which promotes new healthy growth that im guessing could be “itchy for them. The pro tip is to use a small dab of coconut oil as ur moisturizer. A little bit goes a loooong way. Just be sure to really massage the oil into the skin as thats where you primarily want it, not in the hair. Then use a regular dog brush after to help with the application and to get any excess oil off the hair. I just use your standard organic coconut oil that you can get from the grocery store. Only has one ingredient-coconut oil.

  6. I cannot believe my eyes. I cannot believe all this hair came off of my cat. I used the gloves & that click brush from Amazon on a scale 1-10… I’ll give a 2.5-3 compared to this tool. It’s an absolute 10… being very modest with the 10.I groom my cat about 2x a month. She’s a big girl, geriatric (13), and mattes up often. I cannot believe my eyes. She was in heaven when I started grooming her body. I rubbed under her chin w/ one hand and groomed with the other and she licked my hands quite a few times. That’s her way of saying… I love this.Look at all this hair… I cannot believe all this was sitting on my princess. Do me a favor… throw out all those other grooming tools… that don’t have a place to go, difficult to clean, and just get this tool and watch in amazement the before and after. My cat experienced no pain. She even laid down after a while so I wouldn’t stop. This item is made of wood, I don’t see this item breaking at all. It’s like a glorified squeegee on steroids.Definitely worth the value. Light weight. All that hair came off in about 6-8 minutes. That hair was stinky that came off. I know my baby is super happy she is free of all that hair.

  7. Mind blown…. Works 100 times better than I ever expected. And it feels great for them, so they love sitting there letting me get all the hair off them. The circle in the picture is just from two strokes on her neck, and I brush her 2-3x a weekI love that the hair just comes right off and it stays in the Klumps unlike those silicone glove brush mitts where the hair just gets stuck in it and it does not wash off easy under the sink and you guys sit there and pick it all outThis is fantastic product. Every dog owner needs one.

  10. Works great. Works great. Smaller than I expected

  11. Only brush that works. This brush is amazing. I bought the medium size for my 40lb cattle dog and am absolutely obsessed with this brush and the results. I have tried several brushes for his double coat and this one has worked the best, and the hair does not get stuck in the brush. If you’re thinking about getting it, it is worth every penny. My dog enjoys it too.

  12. Piles and piles of fur, and a very happy dog. The good reviews people already left for this product is what got me to buy it.I was skeptical at first, as it really doesn’t look like much and my German shepherd sheds like no tomorrow, but this tool will surprise you! You will get out so much more loose fur than you’d think possible. Furthermore, it’s very easy on your pup, giving them a relaxing experience while you use it.The thing basically cleans itself while you use it too, with the fur falling away with each swipe. The wooden handle is easy to hold and comfortable, so you’re not dropping it every time you hit the slightest tangle. The brush is an excellent value for the price. You don’t have anything to lose here if you give it a try.

  13. Works Great. Our short hair dog, loves it and it helps with the shedding.

  14. This REALLY WORKS!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I searched and searched cat brushes and reviews looking for something that actually worked. I have bought so many that break instantly or just plain don’t work. This is a wonderful slicker top coat brush. It removes almost all loose hair. I have a number of cats and almost everything I have is covered in their hair. I came to the conclusion that I would buy this top coat brush and “ Maxpower Planet Pet Grooming Brush” undercoat brush. These 2 together got all loose hair and totally worked!!! My clothes, my bedding, and my furniture was no longer covered in hair. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this brush in COMBINATION with “ Maxpower Planet Pet Grooming Brush”. 👍👍Unfortunately my daughter lost it, so I’m back to buy another. Good luck with all your pet hair needs and debacles 😅😁

  15. Best Brush for a short haired dog. Before buying this brush, I knew that it was known to be really good. Reading the reviews and looking on YouTube, I broke down I finally bought it after all my other brushes never worked. The best 22 dollars spent!! This brush got my dogs coat shiny again!! It’s easy to hold in my hand, it works really well, and it feels like it’s durable! 100% a great brush for short haired dogs!!

  17. The brush they tolerate the most; gets more hair out than any other brush I’ve used. This brush is a LIFE SAVER. My girl cat doesn’t like to be handled much, but she’ll tolerate this for a good 3 minutes before she runs off. It doesn’t touch her skin, it just goes passed her topcoat to get the loose undercoat. This also, more importantly, works GREAT WONDERS on my Bombay!! (Solid black cat; even nose, pads, and whiskers are black; SUPER shiny, silky coat). I needed to find a brush for him and I’ve tried the Kong and several different kinds of slicker brushes, but they all just glide through his fur and pick nothing up. But when you pet him he sheds like crazy! I tried those glove hands on both of them and that actually just gets you WAY attacked lolBut THIS brush gets SO much fur out and is SO gentle on them, even if they still don’t like it lol. I’d recommend this brush to ANYONE. For a cat, btw, get the 2″. Best not to overstimulate them.

  18. A tool that works. My dogs have short hair and this picks up their hair very well. I have a 15 pound dog and a 40 pound dog. I bought the smallest one not knowing what to expect of the product. I wish I would have bought a bigger one, but the one I have does the job.

  19. Great Grooming brush. I love this brush. My dog is a major shedder and this brush works wonders. Have ordered 2 more for my daughter’s dogs. And my dog loves to be brushed with it! Easy to clean and no hair loss noticed

  20. Works excellent on a GSP. This brush works great on German shorthaired pointers. Makes brushing very quick and easy and gets off tons of loose fur!!! Extremely happy with my purchase.
