  1. Room for Improvement. Here’s my initial review after 4 days and 10 miles.I am a 6′ 7″ 245lb man who works a food service job currently and I figured hey, why not, I’ll roll the dice, these shoes look sharp, they’re in my hard to find size, and I’m sure they’ll hold up to water splashing over my feet with sink work, which they do quite well. Whatever water isn’t deflected is wicked, or so it seems. The shoes look sharp in either a casual or professional setting, though I take issue with the build quality. On day two , the insoles already began to crumble. You will need to replace these immediately, and I would recommend investing in a higher quality insole. Memory foam insoles feel like you’re walking through sand. The outer shell seems of decent quality, it’s done right. The soles, however, feel almost hollow, and feels as if they could be pierced easily if not utilized in the intended food service environment, being clean, hard floors. Kudos on the anti-slip, that works. The bungee “laces” lack a toggle to tighten the shoe, and is sewn into a single fabric eyelet. This is easily overcome with a seam ripper, a pair of scissors and another quality of life improving purchase of a bungee lace kit with toggles and clasps. Other than these drawbacks, and putting in a little more work in, I feel like I could comfortably ride these shoes for at least a year. Remember, work shoes are use items, and will require replacement eventually. So, to recapPros -Professional LookSlip On Design which is novelWater ResistantAnti SlipFits Like a Glove – in more than one wayOk, but not excellent price point for what you getCons-Bungee laces come as is, and can’t be tightened properly, due to lack of hardware, and because it’s sewn inInsoles that they’re shipped with are not prime time readyNarrow use case outside professional environmentBuilt like something you replace once a year to a year and a half, which is fine, but know what you’re getting.Overall view – Consider my score a 3.5 out of 5. After a little bit of mild work, these shoes could be your daily driver, for as long as they last.

Good shoe. I’ve been buying these shoes for the past 2 years and buy at least 2 pairs per year and I have yet to think about buying different type of shoe. They are comfortable, good to work in, breathable and durable for a netted shoe. I will continue to buy thus type of shoe.

Perfect. The perfect work shoes. I work in a bar… constantly on my feet and moving around on wet floors… most non-slips I’ve still caught myself sliding around in but these have great traction. They do run slightly big though… which is probably the point of the relaxed fit but it’s the only thing that bothered me a little.

  4. Great shoes but seem to have gotten smaller. I’ve been buying these shoes for the past two years and I’ve never considered switching to a different type. They are so comfortable and easy to slip on and off. However my last pair I bought was the same size 12 I’ve gotten the past two times but for some reason my toes are crammed in the front which is very uncomfortable. They usually don’t need to be broken in so I figured that I’d give it a couple weeks to loosen up but a month later there’s still no change. I doubt my feet got bigger but idk what else it could be. Despite this I love these shoes so much I just went a head and bought another pair, this time size 12 wide. Hopefully the wide variant will do they trick!

  5. Great value. I am on my feet all day long at work. These last about 6 months and I then buy new ones. I then use the old pair for another 6 months for yard work as I live in Florida and need yard shoes 22 months out of the year.Surprisingly very stylish. I’ve had many folks ask what brand of shoes they are. Very low profile. Great if u dont like showing off name brands!Super easy to take on and off and they fit me snug until around the 6 month mark. They will last a lot longer if you dont use them to death like I do.

  6. Surprise in the Snow. I purchased this shoe as well as a pair of the Skecher Afterburn M tennis shoes. I wanted a dedicated work shoe, because I was going though my shoes pretty quickly from wearing the same pair all the time. So, being that I had already had two previous pairs of the “Afterburn” shoe, and burned through each of them in just over a year respectively, I decided to get another pair of them and also get a pair of the Cessnock Food Service Shoe strictly for work. Both pairs of shoes arrived yesterday, and today I wore the Food Service shoe (FSS) to work for the first time.I slipped them on and found them to be a perfect fit. They are very light weight and comfortable. Usually, I find new shoes need a few days of wear to break-in until they really conform to the shape of your foot and then begin to fit well, but that wasn’t the case with these FSS shoes; they fit perfectly the moment I put them on.I wore them all day at work and discovered something that really surprised me. We had a snowstorm today and got about 2” by the time I got to work, and had a good 7” by the end of my shift. I park outside so of course I have to brush the snow off the car. After doing so I knocked the snow off my shoes before getting into the car. I was surprised to see that the snow didn’t stick to the material on top of the shoes, it was as if there was a water repellant in/on the material. I was sort of wondering why my feet weren’t getting cold while I was cleaning off my car and I guess that explains it. Another surprise was the fact that these shoes make no sound when walking on a tile floor while having wet soles. The “Afterburn” tennis shoes squeak like a rusty hinge when the bottom of the shoe is wet and you walk across tile or other such surfaces, but the FSS’s, are quiet as a mouse, not a sound comes from them, you could almost call them Ninja shoes. As for the style, well that’s a personal preference and these shoes suit me just fine. I think they look sharp, and nobody even noticed I had a new pair of shoes on today.Durability is the unanswered question and being that I’ve only worn them one day, that question will remain unanswered for a while. If I can get a solid two years out of them, just wearing them to work, I will definitely buy them again and certainly would recommend them to a friend.I hope this review helps with your decision. Peace.

  7. Great shoes, but not for $80. They’re pretty good shoes all in all, I’ve owned about 5 pairs now. The soles always seems to deglue at exactly the same time after about 5-6 months.Pros: breathable mesh keeps you a little cooler, shoes have pretty good support, flared heel means more nonslip surface area and good for pivoting (which I do a lot of at work), generally pretty comfortable during a 12 hour shift in a kitchen. The “captive lace but not shoelace” design is actually pretty ingeniousCons: breathable mesh also means spills and food have a straight line to your feet, and cleaning them properly is pretty hard. The captive lace holds in soils pretty well. Soles tend to suddenly come unglued simultaneously, and shoe goo/super glue doesn’t adhere very well.Biggest con: they’re now $80, which is nearly double what I paid the first time I got them. I would buy another pair but at this price the value proposition for what’s essentially a consumable shoe that wears out twice a year (at least) makes it pretty unattractive. There are still $40-50 shoes out there that are only 10% worse than this one. We’re rolling in the dough in a less figurative manner in the kitchen and $160-$240 a year in shoes is a little steep. All in all if you’re doing serious dirty work in the food industry, maybe consider something in faux leather that can be cleaned off a little easier. I love the breathability of the mesh but I got tired of the constant stink, even after soaking/drying. These would be ideal and last at least a year for a manager/supervisor that occasionally hops on the line or FOH.
