Recommended, and not just for women born after 1980. I gave this item 5 stars for good reason! First of all, I was …born before 1970, I’ll own up to that… and asked for this as a Christmas gift due to 1. the VERY reasonable price and 2. the color spectrum. I figured it was a good thing to ask for from my husband– if it turned out to not work for me, it wasn’t too much $$ at stake. It worked out better than I thought, and also better than ANY 20-or-more-colored-eyeshadow set. I grew up in the 80s, so I’ve tried a lot of these. I am having more fun with this kit than I did with most makeup in my 20s. I mainly wanted to try out the greens and purples, and even though I do not look my age, have good genes, and stick to a beauty regimen every day of every year, 41 is 41.I have brown eyes, and was able to pull off even some of the brighter colors. For instance, the neon greens and even yellow. The violet hues (that are in no danger of being even partially blue) look great. I don’t use mineral makeup, because I saw almost the first day I wore it that 1. it didn’t show much on my skin, even the dark browns 2.what I did get to show up wore off fast, but worst of all 3. somehow it managed to accent any lines in my face I had. Not exactly worth being 3 times more expensive than regular makeup. The colors I have tried have been matte finish (if there are metallic ones, they are in the minority here–I think), so there’s no danger of looking a little skanky (a little like the ones I wore in the 80s sometimes) as long as you don’t use a ton. I was REALLY surprised that I could pull off the greens and yellows–though in all fairness maybe I should add I have some training as a make-up artist. Not enough so I could actually apply makeup to other women and do it professionally, but enough to know the basic things you do and do not do,some little tricks to get certain looks, and what looks good on me. Hint- invest in and use a set of brushes to apply all your makeup, toss the little lame mini-applicators -you know, the ones with a foam tip that come with eye shadow when you buy it in the drugstore and are an inch long I was lucky to discover this method over 20 years ago and would NEVER go back. The results are worth it.Anyway, if I wasn’t on such a low budget right now I’d pick up a couple to give as gifts. The price is right, the packaging is elegant but practical (no danger of colors spilling over into each other, if you use the clear laminated cover). If you are young and only have a few year’s experience applying makeup, watch a few tutorials on YouTube. I would recommend this product to others that want to have a little fun experimenting with colors and enjoy applying makeup. A quality product barely over 15 bucks that gives you so many options, stays where you put it, and then is quick to remove later even without a special remover for waterproof mascara. The brights didn’t make my eyes water slightly when I used them under my eyes, and I can’t say that for many other eye makeup products-including ones that cost double the price. After 35, I found putting my makeup on was just kind of in a damage-control mode, and it’s nice to actually enjoy myself and have a little fun again doing this! Go for it.

Nice variety if you can’t decide on a palette. I have recently become a fan of Shany’s eyeshadow palettes. I am 40-something with fair, mostly dry skin. I love Shany products for their pigmentation, variety, staying power, and price. Here are a few pros and cons for this specific palette.Pros:Variety: There are 96 different colors to choose from in this palette, from very bright to neutral. I bought this palette to try them out when I wasn’t sure which palette would be best for me.Pigmentation: These shadows are highly pigmented, so a little on your brush will go a long way.Price: These are very affordable as opposed to some high-end products that sell for $15 a color or $50 for 10 shades. If purchased through Amazon Prime, shipping is free and quick. If you order $50 of product through Shany directly, shipping is free and you get free full-size samples, such as eye shadow or eye pencil. I’ve used both methods to acquire Shany products.No creasing/good staying power: Though I always use an inexpensive shadow primer, these stay on all day and do not crease on me.Customer service: Customer service at Shany is very friendly and efficient.Packaging: Nice black, glossy palette with gold embossed Shany logo. Very easy to open and latches shut.Shipping: When shipped from Amazon or Shany directly, they have come double-bubble wrapped in a box and came perfectly unbroken for me.Cons:Pot size: These come in very small pots, smaller than a dime. Since you have 96 shades and they are highly pigmented, they should last a long time regardless.Palette size: Is rather bulky if you want to take it with you everywhere.Color choice: This could be a pro. There are very bright shades of pink, red, blue, and green, as well as browns and a black. Most are matte. If you like shimmer or more subtle tones, this might not be the right palette for you.Fragile: Other reviewers noted that shadows break easily if the palette is dropped or bumped. Be careful with it.In summary, this product contains many different shades that are mostly matte that are highly pigmented. Though the pot sizes are small, a little shadow goes a long way. This is good for people that like a variety of bright and subtle colors, but there are few that are shimmery. When used with a primer, the shadows lasted all day for me, did not crease, and I had very little fall-out when I used shadow brushes.
SHANY does a great job combining Quality with Value. SHANY is doing everything they can to put an end to the days when inexpensive eyeshadow meant chalky shadows with spotty coverage and poor pigmentation. This is the third of their pallettes that I have purchased, and it has the same great quality as my earlier purchases. These shadows have a good deal of pigment and work well on their own; using them with a white eyeshadow base keeps them super vibrant and true to color. These shadows have a nice consistency and blend well with each other and with other products. I blended one in with a creme shadow, and I didn’t get any clumps or uneven coloring.As other reviews have noted, each pan is small. SHANY, like BH Cosmetics and others, is using a standard packaging set that allows them to offer a variety of products at a lower price because they don’t have to invest in developing new packaging every time they put out a new pallette configuration (except for a different plastic insert to go inside the pallette shell). So if you own or have seen one of the 88 color pallettes, be aware that these pans are a bit smaller than those (a little smaller than a dime). The main drawback to these big pallettes is that if you find one or two colors that you particularly like, you will probably go through them pretty quickly; however, these pallettes are clearly made for those who love variety, need a large selection of colors for different looks, etc. After all, if you like having your 3 or 4 staple colors that you use repeatedly, you probably won’t be in the market for a 96 color pallette anyway. These pallettes really are about versatility, and the quality of the product makes them good for makeup artists as well as novices who want to learn and explore without spending a ton on money to figure out techniques or what colors look best.I have found SHANY’s products, especially their eye products, to be wonderful additions to my kit. Their packaging is attractive and well-designed and they’ve done a lot to convince me that inexpensive makeup that is actually worth buying is a possibility!
Very happy! I love experimenting with all of the colors included. I am so happy that I purchased this eyeshadow palette! I mainly bought it so I could use the matte colors, but I found that I like the shimmery ones as well. Yes, as others have mentioned, the colors individually are pretty small. But I would rather have an assortment of colors like these than larger palettes of colors that I will only use maybe only half of them. The wide range of colors on this set is amazing! It makes me want to purchase the other palettes, especially now knowing that I love the quality. Even the light colors show up well on my eyelids. This set makes it fun and easy to experiment with colors. I have hooded eyes so finding eyeshadow that looks good is tough. But this set is a knock out for me. The colors are very will pigmented and they stay on all day. Not to mention, even though the colors themselves are small, they will be lasting me for a very good long while. Also (and this is very important to me) the palette box itself makes for very easy and CLEAN storage! There is nothing more annoying to me than messy makeup everywhere. My eyeshadow is in one container (I can now get rid of my old ones!!) and my makeup area is very clean! It snaps tightly closed so if I ever need to take it somewhere with me I know that the eyeshadow will be safe inside. Though I havent used it much because I haven’t had much of a need to, I love the big mirror inside too! It will be great if I’m ever in a pinch. Will be purchasing from SHANY again, as well as exploring what other products they have!
Creamy, buttery, and blendable eyeshadows for a great price. Being a makeup hobbyist for just a few years (in between a novice and intermediate level in makeup knowledge), I’ve been on and off with makeup that has been hyped up to be something so good, but ended up being the opposite for me, after paying so much for them (such as Too Faced, since their eyeshadow palettes always have hits and misses for a high price) . I realized at one point that hyped up, fancy packaging, and/or pricey makeup does not always equal good quality. I decided to give Shany a try after watching some YouTube videos about their eyeshadow palettes and viewing swatch pictures online. Shany is seriously an underrated brand, and I feel like Shany’s eyeshadow palettes are on top of both drugstore and high end brands when it comes to minimal fallout while having decent pigmentation, blendability, and anti-patchy eyeshadows. This palette in particular opens doors from an everyday look to a glam look with warm colors, olive greens, subtle purples, and the standard silver to black shimmery foils and mattes. I appreciate the standard mirror and extra completely standard sponge applicators. Best of all, the price of 14-15 usd for 88 eyeshadows is a steal for the formulation and quality of these eyeshadows. I truly do believe that the Shany staff test out the eyeshadows before these palettes are sold.Pros:-Anti crack/non patchy-Creamy and buttery formulation-Very easy to blend-Color payoff noticeable without primer, even more noticeable with primer-A dupe for many high end eyeshadow palettes hyped up on social media- Makeup hobbyist friendly-Won’t make your bank upset, especially if you’re a college student like me-A wide variety of looks can be achieved with this wide range of colors and finishes (shimmery foils, subtle sparkles, mattes)Cons:I would say none at all, unless instant high pigmentation is a must for you. Some mattes take some minimal layering, but it is only minimal layering. I personally prefer this formulation because I like to control the intensity of matte colors and the formulation prevents fallout. I feel like Shany’s eyeshadow palettes are great for makeup enthusiasts of all levels, as well as makeup professionals to theatrical makeup professionals. And Shany is the go-to brand especially if your budget is tight (like mine) but you want good quality makeup to use and experiment with!P. S. – Shany, please make some new eyeshadow palettes with more highly pigmented shimmery foils with whimsical/bold colors! That would be awesome as well!

Decent for the price. The pigment is what you’d expect from a product of this price range especially with “so many colors”. It’s actually not bad if you just want to experiment with it. Very small pan sizes and multiple similar colors. All the colors are near the same shade and the pan sizes are similar to the size of a dime.

Great palette. What a beautiful eye shadow palette. The colors are vivid, and last all day. Granted, I will not use all the colors, but enough of them. The price is great.
Very Good Product. The eyeshadow came an entire day earlier than expected which was nice! The mirror was cracked when I opened up the palette 🙁 but that was likely not the fault of the seller and the fault of the delivery team! The 96 colors are very nice and diverse! Would recommend to others!
So many options. I bought this for prom and it worked great on me and my friend. I also wore it for the 4th of july. the colors blended so well together and it’s so easy to put on. it’s soft on the skin so it doesn’t irritate anything. it’s definitely worth the money.

13 years and going strong. So.. I bought this back in January of 2012! I dont do my makeup often and so I still have every color still full.. but the fact that this thing is nearly 13 years old is insane! I love the colors! They are bright and look amazing!
