In a rental, needed to set temperature of fridge/freezer properly – I recommend this unit. This was a recommended brand and unit for measuring the temperatures in your fridge and freezer. I am glad I got it as the apartment fridge/freezer were not set to the right temperatures for food safety. It’s easy to read and easy to use. I let it sit for 12 hours in the unit before I first start checking the temperature, just to make sure it has time to get an accurate reading.Not really surprised, even though everything seemed cold, neither unit was operating at the “safe” recommended temperatures. They now are. Because of health (and budget) issues, I can’t afford to risk food poisoning or waste food. This gives me peace of mind about my cold storage. Seems good value for price.
It is accurate and easy to read. I had to replace the lower heating element in my kitchen range oven. the other type of thermometer we had been using never seemed to be accurate so I purchased this oven thermometer and was extremely pleased that it agreed with the temperature which the oven had been set for. Another brand of thermometer was so far off it wasn’t even within 50 degrees; so I give Rubbermaid a 5 stars on this one.
Good thermometer to verify Oven Settings. The thermometer and temperature setting in our oven seemed to be inaccurate judging from baking results following recipes. This thermometer provided a means of determining how accurate oven settings were – though, the size of the type could have been larger to make it easier to read.
Reliable and Accurate. I needed a replacement thermometer for my dying refrigerator. After testing with 4 other thermometers and two refrigerator repair companies, this product gives accurate readings.It is also easy to read, which many others are not.I highly recommend this product to others.
I got two & they work. I put one in refrigerator & one in freezer. Easy way to be sure your unit is working correctly. Because of these, I caught a problem in refrigerator quickly before losing any food.
good. I purchased this to use in my cooler. It seemed to work well, but unfortunately at one point it got submerged in melted ice and ruined. I wish it were waterproof, then it would be perfect.
Works well for the price. Ordered to test the oven temps on our GE Profile double oven range. Confirmed that the top oven was running about 13 degrees too hot and the bottom 6 degrees too cold (at 400). They have been this way since new but i just recently noticed in the GE app that you can adjust the temps for calibration so I figured I would give it a go. The thermometer works well, though it does take a while to get to temp. The first one I ordered was defective. The background behind the needle seemed warped towards to the top and the needle would actually hit it and get stuck at around 300 degrees. The replacement does not have that issue.

Best Oven Thermometer, Period. Others Don’t Compare. The Rubbermaid Commercial Thermometer for Oven/Grill is the most reliable and sturdy oven thermometer I’ve used. I replaced a store bought unbranded that seemed to get increasingly off temp and ended up using this for 5 years without issue.During that time it was abused by me and my roommate, because although it’s the best, it could still be knocked off the rack it hung from. (This is a moot point to me because my unbranded was waaaay worse). It fell both at room and fully heated multiple times, and it never degraded.I bought another when I moved because it got lost or was thrown out, but it was still working before then! Definitely worth it, especially for gas ovens!
