Ring Smart Lighting – Bridge, White

needs a hard reset each time you unplug. Recently bought the bridge that was included as a package with the wired floodright promo during prime day. Since i already have the ring doorbell pro, i already had the app. Im aware of the issues of both floodlight and bridge so when setting up, it was fairly a breeze. When I hooked up my wired floodlight, I had to relocate the bridge on a different location. Thats when i started having connectivity issues. Either the bridge could not connect to my wifi (which was less than 4ft from my router) or the floodlight! After a hard reset, it went smoothly and the floodlight was able to link up properly. But because i had to detach my floodlight from the mount, the bridge again could NOT connect?! I had to hard reset the bridge again. The floodlight was then able to link to the bridge.If this is the only way to link your smart lights to the bridge, then it would be a pain to reset the bridge and add each of your lights. Also, the reason, that many people will purchase this , is to “link” other Ring products. I was able to set notifications for motion and light and activate the doorbell each time floodlight is activated. This is NOT possible to link other smart objects (like my Arlo cams).UPDATE: I am updating my rating for the RING Bridge. I had shut down my power from breaker many times already and didnt encounter an issue that I had to reset my bridge. Ive since added and linked my Ring Transformer and sensor and the bridge is doing its job to integrate and communicate among the Ring products that I have.

Problems at first, but seems ok now. We recently purchased 4 of the Ring pathlights and had to get this bridge to communicate with them. The lights work great, the bridge….not so much. (See update below)At least twice a day the Ring Bridge decides it doesn’t want to stay connected to my network. No other devices on my network have this issue. I have other wifi devices near it that work flawlessly. Sometimes the bridge will reconnect itself, sometimes I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it back.The disconnects are bad enough, but to top it off, if/when it does this in the middle of the night it makes my phone ping real loudly. You can’t turn this notification off unless I stop having the normal Ring notifications on my doorbell and camera off too. I don’t want to stop those notifications so I am stuck either dealing with the pings or never getting notifications from my cameras if something happens. So, I basically just get deal with it.Based on my research on the Ring support forums it looks like they caused this with the most recent firmware update and it’s affecting quite a few people. I’m going to hang onto the bridge for now in the hopes they update the firmware and fix this. I’ve also ordered a Ring Chime that I needed for a camera to have a stable wifi connection so I am hoping that maybe that can help the bridge too. But, until they fix this issue that seems to be prevalent in many users Ring Bridge hardware I would go into this knowing that it could be something you have to deal with. By far the worst Ring product I have owned.Update– After spending some time with my router and some resets of the bridge the disconnects seem to have stopped for now. Hopefully it continues on like this. I think 4 stars is appropriate with it functioning correctly because the loud notifications for disconnecting from the internet are still very annoying and should have the ability to be toggled off.

Purchased to complete the kit, seems to work well. Have had no issues with this product in terms of connectivity and ease of use. My only complaint would be that at the time I purchased this, it was because I had no choice. There was no bundle that included this with any lighting or other ring products. Almost a “gotcha” kind of purchase. Overall recommend, but kind of annoyed that I had to buy it in the first place.

Better than using Echo. I cannot explain the technical why’s, but I struggled to get Ring sensor to work with several of the newer Echo’s. They would link up but then disconnect for no apparent reason.After getting the Bridge I had no problems, very reliable.

Easy setup as far as the bridge goes. The bridge is very easy to setup but as far as the lights go you have to be a little savvy to install it where wires are already on your house. You have to be extremely savvy If you have to install it where there weren’t wires to begin with, so get ready for a huge task! Once they’re in it’s great, we’ve bought 2 more now!

Works well with my existing Ring doorbell. Perfect to save on electricity since it’s motion detected. We got for our dog to use going down the steps of the deck. Works perfect. Design is good and very bright. Gives you peace of mind for safety. Very durable in the weather.

Works well with my ring. Extends signal to cameras and Walkway lighting. Easy to set up.

Ring bridge. This ring bridge works great, but it needs to be more closer to the outside maybe a window or so but the closest you can get it because I have it hooked up to my mailbox and sometimes it goes off-line so I recommend you put it by the window or even hook it up outside if you’re using the mailbox motion, but other than that, it works great love it
