  1. Accurate and easy to use heart rate monitor. I purchased the Powr-Labs heart rate monitor as a replacement for a chest strap heart rate monitor that I was having issues with. I primarily use it with the Peloton bike and the Peloton app. When I turned on the Powr-Labs heart rate monitor, it easily paired with the bike. Since the initial pairing, whenever I turn on the bike, the heart rate monitor automatically connects. It also automatically connects to the app. To check the accuracy, I compared the heart rate from the Powr-Labs monitor to the heart rate on my Apple watch and on a digital pulse oximeter and they are within a few beats of each other, so I feel the Powr-Labs heart rate monitor is accurate. I have been using it for 2 weeks and I have had no issues with it, connectivity has been continuous when in use. Regarding the battery, I have used it for about 25 hours, so it is not ready for a charge yet, so I can’t evaluate how long the battery charge lasts. I would definitely purchase again!

  2. Easy to use for bicycling. I’d long used the chest-strap type of heart rate monitors for exercising at the gym for a duration of about an hour. When using the chest strap for multi-hour bike rides I would get a rash from the sweat and strap on my chest. The arm band heart monitor is easy to wear and appears to yield consistent and accurate heart info to be recorded by the garmin gps on my bike rides. The heart rate info along with other ride metrics are saved onto the web for comparison with my exercise results. Battery life and recharging is very easy. Easy to pair with the garmin gps. No rash on my arm, but one can get a tan mark. Wear sunscreen!!

  3. Decent Product – but instructions are severely lacking for Peloton. If a product “claims” to work with a product and has it in their instructions, and if the instructions are followed to the letter – IT SHOULD WORK OUT OF THE BOX. It didn’t. I tried to connect to my Peloton multiple times using their directions – it never connected. I contacted the manufacturer and they were VERY responsive , and after a few emails they forwarded to me the CORRECT procedure for pairing the device with the Peloton. I am giving them 4 stars mostly for the customer service – I would have given 5 because the product actually is pretty good – I just was a little frustrated with their docs being inaccurate. For those of you with a Pelton – new gen or old – you cannot pair this device using the Bluetooth menu, you must go into the “Heart Rate Monitor” menu on the Modal Dialog that pops up when you join a class. Why that is not in the instructions I don’t get, but using that method I was able to connect my device to my Peloton. The video on their website is inaccurate as well.

  5. Stopped working on my Peloton Bike. March 10, 2023To all I have revised my previous Amazon survey and review on my PowrLabs HRM. I am a happy customer. I have received overwhelming and very helpful technical support from the PowrLabs tech team. The most surprising aspect of this review process from previous unfavorable review was the very understanding and most accommodating support from the Founder and Owner of the company. I experienced the most gracious, top to bottom, technical support I ever received. My PowrLabs HRM is successfully paired and working as expected. It’s the most cost-effective device of its kind. I am a happy customer.November 2022, I received my Powrlab Heart Rate Monitor (wrist, arms) version. I was able to easily setup the device and configure to my Peloton Exercise Bike. As of last week, it stopped working and a brief hiatus from my Peloton Bike exercises, I was no longer able to view the Powrlabs heart monitor rate displayed on my Peloton bike table nor my TV. Today, I called Peloton Tech Support, after many logistical and basic troubleshooting steps, there was No change. I would return the device, but I am just passed my return day “window” date January 31, 2023.I have updated my firmware and I managed to revert to a previous firmware version, with the help of Peloton tech support. After recycling the power on the bike, I managed to pair the heart monitor to the Peloton Tablet, Apple Watch (the two device limit). All should be working, as I have previously experienced, all except the Powrlabs monitor readings not being displayed on any device. If I did not have the good professional Peloton tech support, I would have felt, somehow Peloton blocked the pairing of the block, so I would purchase their heart monitor, but I have enough technical experience to know this is not the case. So, I will continue to try and get this device to work.

  9. This item is as described. As expected this item is working and looking forward to long term experience.

  10. Simple to use. Super easy to pair to peloton – just used video on their website and had in done in under a minute! Works great with a comfy band!

  11. Customer service was great. The band works great with my under armor app and my run app. The tracker is very durable

  12. So far so good – pairs well with Garmin device and stays connected. We’ve had some issues with previous forearm heart rate monitors, but so far so good with this device by Powr Labs…connected immediately to my Garmin 530 (for cycling) and maintains connectivity the entire ride…and seems to give accurate HR measures…(I tested it against a wrist based watch – same values). Easy to activate…just have to remember to turn it off after rides…gives a short vibration to let you know it is off. Easy to charge. I’m super happy at this point – having used it now for 10 days!

  14. Worked great then stopped working. Pros: small, charges easily, long battery life and connectivity is great with my Garmin bike computerCons: band only fits your forearm–too small for bicepAfter 5 month of ownership the HRM stopped working. The battery indicates full charge but turning on results in auto shutoff in 5 seconds. no matter what I tried each time it starts and shuts off. Reached out to POWRLABS and was contacted by Nina and she gave me a few things to try to get it to work. So far it has been the only customer support. Amazon will not accept refund. Only one data point and maybe mine was a lemon but I ordered a different manufacturer this time (Polar) and hoping for better results from a larger company. I went with the 2 year protection on the new HRM and would recommend if you get this HRM get the protection plan as well.UPDATE: I updated the overall rating to 3 stars. Contacted the folks at POWRLABS and after a few email exchanges they were generous to refund my purchase. Excellent customer service and sending me another replacement to try again. Perhaps mine was just a fluke and failed prematurely.

  15. Initial setup rocky, but daily use is great. Using a Pelaton daily has been great in every aspect except one – being able to track my workouts in Apple Watch and my Strive score at the same time. I didn’t want to choose one or the other. This heart rate tracker has solved that issue completely. It’s usually a beat or two behind what my Apple Watch shows, but they are always pretty close. Initial setup of this heart rate monitor was frustrating. It took forever to pair the device with the Pelaton. Once paired, though, it has been completely seamless to use daily. I’m over a week in to using this every day, and it still registers at 100% battery, so I’m also very pleased with the battery life.

  17. Works Great on Nordictrack Treadmill. I bought this when my chest strap cardiac monitor failed. This device works great! It tracks extremely well with my watch that also monitors my heart rate. It uses an optical sensor so it starts working immediately. I wish I had bought it sooner. I really like how I can just slip it on to my forearm. This is much better than having to put on a chest strap.

  19. So far so good. Bought this to replace an ifit heartrate monitor for my treadmill. This works perfectly!! syncs quickly and very accurate!! Only had for a week but seems to be excellent! Would recommend. A++

  20. Revision – a long saga. My wife and I both bought these units because they were said to interface with the Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) system and for 15 months they did. Then one day mine refused to, although all external signalling during charging and use were still correct. I was not happy with 15 months of service but wanted to have a monitor so I submitted a 3 star review to Amazon and ordered another. To my amazement Adam, the president of Powr Labs reached out to me with an expressed willingness to replace the unit or send me a refund or whatever I thought would make things right. I told him I’d already ordered another but mentioned that my wife’s was still working correctly and I’d let him know how the new one worked. It didn’t work – same problem – so I sent it back for a replacement. By this time I was starting to get suspicious that the problem was not with the armband at all but with Orangetheory. So I began an email exchange with their HQ.My suspicions were heightened when the replacement from Amazon didn’t work either and when Orangetheory said that their system was designed to work only with their own armband or an Apple. They were further heightened when I thought of trying to establish a direct Bluetooth connection between my armband and my phone. Connection was immediate. Then I tried connecting the armband to my laptop and connection was again immediate. But it would not connect to the Orangetheory app on that same phone.I knew that if their claim about restricted connectability was true at all it had just been MADE true by a revision of their software. There was just one more conflict to be resolved. I reminded HQ that my wife’s armband still worked. Well, they were able to “fix” that! By the next class hers quit working also.By this time I was just plain angry. Orangetheory, by leading me to believe that my Powr Labs armband had died, had led me to throw away what was probably a perfectly good unit. Furthermore they had forced me to return what was, no doubt, a perfectly good unit from Amazon for no good reason. They were obviously trying to blackjack us (and everyone else) to buy their unit, which costs twice as much and has half the guarantee. Not going to happen!I had been keeping Adam at Powr Labs posted on this whole process and wondered if it wouldn’t be possible for his team to produce their own app so we could monitor our performance on their app instead of on the boards at OTF. I said I was mainly interested in heartrate because I’d already established my target heartrate at OTF and just wanted to be able to get up to it during each session. He came back with the suggestion that I download the Wahoo Fitness app, which will interface to his (and our) armband. So I tried it and it works. I can get the heartrate but none of the other information I can get with a full OTF connection. Nevertheless, I’m content to be able to monitor my heart.I should say in closing that although I have only contempt for the OTF policymakers, I’m very happy with our coaches in the local studio here in Chico, CA.
