A Welcomed Addition From Awkward Capsules. Our vet recommended fish oil for our Aussies years ago and we have been using Dechra Eicosa3FF SnipCaps for about seven years. They work great, but they are awkward. Our hands smell like fish oil, the oil inevitably gets everywhere and caps need to be thrown away. It was not my favorite part of breakfast for our girls.I decided we needed a new fish oil.When I searched Amazon I quickly realized there are a lot of fish oils to pick from. I knew I needed at least 515 mg EPA and 338 mg EPA. Most fish oils don’t even come close.PetHonesty, however, goes over.We did have a little problem opening the pump, but my husband pointed out that if I had waited and opened the pump before putting it in the bottle it would have popped up without a problem. Just a tip – open the pump first, then put it in the bottle.I was a little skeptical about the promise of no smell, but it really does not have a smell. My hands have been fish oil free for over a week.Our aussies absolutely love this stuff too. They each get two squirts in their breakfast, but I have also just given them the oil directly on a treat and they gobbled it up.As our girls have always had fish oil we have not noticed any difference in their coats. For those wondering, fish oil does make a huge difference in coat health for dogs. It helps skin, fur and nails. For our girls it helps with shedding and for our younger aussie/newfie it helps with her dry skin.

Be aware of new labeling and dosages. I have been getting this product for quite some time and love it and have has great success with it. Just be aware of the new packaging and labeling if you too have been using it for awhile. I have 3 dogs all different weights and sizes. 1 used to get 2 pumps, the other 3 pumps and for my big guy, 4 pumps. Now the label says that all three dogs need 5 pumps. That went from 9 to 15 pumps a day. That might not seem like a huge deal, but when you are on a budget an additional 6 pumps a day adds up quickly.
Best for dog hair loss. When my Westie’s hair started falling out, my vet recommended fish oil — from him at great expense. After his ran out, I bought this product, much less expensively, and my dog now has a shiny coat with almost no shedding. He likes it too: his brother sneaks licks out of his bowl! Which is surprising because there is no smell to it, and no residual stink on my dog.
Shiny happy dog. Our elder dog had flaky skin and I’d read about giving dogs fish oil for omega 3 oils to help with dryness. Was concerned the fish smell might come out through her skin (salmon dog food makes her smell fishy!!) but No odor! And she loves the flavor—wherever it’s squirted is the first part to be eaten. It even masks her pills, so they’re gobbled down without her even knowing if the oil is on them. Her coat is so soft and shiny—great stuff!
My dog’s love this stuff. I have two very picky dogs.They both love this fish oil. I usually squirt two pumps on their food, but if I forget, I simply squirt it on their plates without food and they lap it right up!It does not smell and is easy to use – no cups, spoons or measurers needed.A++
Helped dogs hair loss. Bought this hoping it would help my dog with dry skin and some hair loss that he had going on for a while. Haven’t gone through the whole bottle yet but most of his hair has grown back and his skin isn’t as dry. His coat is also a lot shinier than before, I really wish I would have taken some before pics to show the progress!
Product works. My pup was chewing his fur off in patches and this has gone down significantly since using this oil. His coat looks great. Unfortunately, the pump leaks A LOT!! We probably lost at least 1/8 of the bottle due to leakage. We placed the bottle in a coffee mug to keep it from sticking to the counter. Once the oil dries, it is very difficult to remove. The design team definitely needs to reconfigure the pump.
Healthy treat. Our dog became fussy with eating his kibble so we added a few pumps of fish oil and he loves it! One of our 3 cats had hairball issues until he started this fish oil.This is a great product and rates high on consumer labs a third-party testing lab.Definitely recommend!
Makes a difference in the dogs’ coats. We’ve been giving this to our dogs daily because they have dry, itchy skin. It definitely makes a difference in the softness of their coats and while they’re still itchy, I believe, this lessens that for them.
defective pump. This product has been great for our older aussies coats.Unfortunately, we struggle with the pump every time. We finally realized to open pump before inserting but this didn’t work this time. Pouring option uses the product too fast. I wish they would address the pump issue or I may have to find another similar product.
Great product. My dog was a master at spitting out gel tabs. This is easy to use, and keeps his coat soft and beautiful. Quality ingredients. I like that it’s delivered in sealed bags.
Great Product. Ordered PetHonesty Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplement to add to my dogs’ homemade dog food after one of my dogs started developing a negative reaction to something in commercial dog kibble. Needed a fish oil supplement for omega-3 fatty acid nutritional requirement. Within 3 weeks of adding some of this product daily to my dogs’ food, there was a very noticeable, positive difference in their fur and skin. It was amazing! My large dog’s fur is now very shinny and glossy, and she’s not shedding nearly as much or scratching as much anymore. This product doesn’t smell or have any bad odor. Comes with a pump, which makes adding to their food easy. I add 4-6 pumps to their food daily (fed twice per day; 2-3 pumps at each feeding) and mix in well. This product has been an integral part of their much improved health within the past 10 months.
Bottle top is a little messy. I use the fish oil for my 7 year old dog. It seems to help with his allergies and making his coat healthy. The only thing I don’t really like is the top is similar to shampoo/conditioner bottles and the fish oil is pretty thin so it always drips down the side and gets on my hands. It’s obviously a little fishy so I always have to wash my hands after use. I put a little paper towel under the bottle so my cabinet doesn’t get oily. Overall works great, but next time I will probably buy a bottle with a push dispenser.
