Got us through the first night. I got my puppy yesterday and this is, so far, the best thing I purchased. He wrestles with it and sleeps against it. He slept through the night which I totally did not expect. The toy is bigger than he is and that make the whole thing just that much cuter. I have a feeling I will be going through a lot of batteries but I think it’s completely worth it.The toy is soft and so far has taken the little guys teeth with no tearing. I’ll update further if he manages to rip it open or anythingUpdate: No tearing and I did put in a hand warmer overnight to see how that worked. It made the toy warm enough to the touch to be comforting but not too hot. I’m not sure my puppy noticed or cared and I haven’t done it since. He loves to wrestle with this and sleeps next to or on top of it whenever it’s nap time.Update May 2017 — He loves this toy, he still sleeps with it every night. It hasn’t had a heartbeat or the warmer in years but it is still his go to sleep toy. It goes with him to boarding and on every trip. He still has the original stuffy though it doesn’t have ears or eyes anymore. I had to wash it once due to an explosion in the crate, with a lot of bleach, and it fared very well. He wasn’t sure about it for a few days as it didn’t smell right anymore, but he soon fell in love with it again. Im very impressed with the quality as this has lasted three plus years of pretty constant mauling.Five Year Update: He still loves this toy. I keep considering getting a new one and swapping them out but it’s held up surprisingly well.Seven Year Update: My neighbors got a puppy and she just cried the whole first night in the crate. I got her one of these and the difference is amazing. She hears the heartbeat and goes directly into her crate!I broke down and got my dog another one, even though this is a big pricey for the size of toy. He is in love. He has spent hours cuddling with this in the past two days. I put up a pic of the old one vs new one. I finally washed the old one and it’s better, but he LOVES the new one. I was being sentimental as it was the toy I had with me when I picked him up from the breeder, but apparently he doesn’t care. I will be getting more, possibly yearly, as he destroys them.
Very happy with my purchase. Well, we got a new puppy! Yeah!! Then night rolled around and we put the puppy in his kennel and he cried all night long. No one slept a wink those first few nights. I know some people say to get an old style clock and the ticking sound will comfort the puppy. I never really liked that idea because I was worried that the puppy would break the clock and accidentally swallow a piece of it. I happened upon this Snuggle Puppy and thought it was worth a try and seemed less risky than a clock. Well, let me tell you… he loves his puppy! I guess it didn’t help that he was from a littler of 13 but having a “puppy” with a heartbeat that he could rest his head on actually made him feel better.I’m very happy I decided to give this little guy a try.If you found this review helpful please click “yes” below so I know I’m not wasting my time writing these reviews.
Absolute game changer. We brought home an 8 week old miniature dachshund mid-august. He did fine in the crate overnight, with the exception of a couple potty breaks, but would whine and cry all day when he was home alone in the crate. After seeing the reviews on this toy I thought I’d give it a shot in hopes it could just help a little, it has helped a TON! He still whines a bit right when we leave, but when I check in 5 minutes later he is sleeping like a rock with his snuggle puppy! I can tell a difference in him throughout the evening after he spends time in the crate, he is much calmer and more fun playful. Would recommend to anyone!
Actually surprised. I got this for my German Shepherd puppy who was not liking her crate at the advice of my uncle. After the first night she started sleeping so much better. She loves cuddling with the puppy or being near it. She knows when I turn on the heartbeat that it’s time for a nap.She did not care for the heating pack that came with it so will not be buying more of those but highly recommend this for young puppies needing help sleeping through the night or crate training!
A lifesaver. Our breeder had one of these when we met our puppy. I ordered one so we’d have it the first night we brought Cutter home. I wasn’t sure how he would react to sleeping in a crate. At bedtime, I turned the heartbeat on and the second Cutter heard that familiar sound, he went right into the crate. He’s now 7 months old but I still turn it on every night and he immediately curls up with it. He did chew off the tail and an ear but he still loves his “Heartbeat”! I highly recommend getting one of these for your new puppy!
Must Have for New Puppy. So far so good! This has helped with crate training and lessening the whining at night or when we leave during the day! He gravitates toward this toy the most now.I was worried about him being able to get to the battery heart or heating pad, but the Velcro is STRONG!This toy is bigger than I expected. Sonny is 12 weeks and 10lbs and it’s a little smaller than him.
Great bedtime snuggle buddy. This was originally a gift to my pup from a good friend when I picked up my pup (she was 4 months old.) The first stuffy was my pups favorite bedtime buddy to have in her crate. She always brought him out with her in the morning.My pup loves the stuffy with the “heartbeat” for about 3-4 months and then she covered him with her crate mat. I took out the “heart” and she’s happily slept with her head resting on her buddy ever since. My pup has a double coat and is hot all the time so I never used the heating “pads”. I’m sure they are great too.My little puposaurus Rex usually chews up and pulls all stuffing out of any and all toys but, this toy lasted 2 years! Was the bedtime buddy missing his ears and tail for at least a year? Yes, but still a great snuggle buddy for another year. Sadly, this year the snuggle buddy suffered an unrecoverable loss of stuffing and fuzziness. 😞Luckily I was able to order another buddy and the bedtime snuggles continue! I wish there was an option to just get the stuffy (I still have the original heart and warmers, didn’t need more) but that’s just a nit pick. This is a great product.The stuffing is the white fluffy kind, the pup is of solid construction and the “heartbeat” really does soothe puppies (I’ve used something similar with another pup – not as nice or fancy but, it works like a charm!) I recommend for new puppies spending nights alone without their siblings. All dogs that like to rest their heads on something soft when napping, and all puppies and dogs who are scared of loud noises.I put the snuggle buddy up and away from pupasaurus when she’s awake and playing to avoid catastrophic stuffing incidents. This is not a chew toy at all but it has stood up to some aggressive love and snuggling. If your pup has shown some restraint towards “special” toys, this is perfect for your pup! Not so much for dogs determined to lay waste to everything in site. My pup falls somewhere between. I recommend this for pups!
Lifesave for our anxious puppy. The Snuggle Puppy has been a game-changer for our new puppy! The heartbeat feature and warming pack really helped ease his anxiety, especially during those first few nights away from his litter. He cuddles up to it and falls asleep almost instantly, which has been such a relief for us and has helped him settle into his new home much faster.The plush material is soft, durable, and easy to wash, which is a bonus. It’s a little pricier than other toys, but honestly, it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind it’s given our pup (and us!). If you’re bringing home a new puppy or have a dog with separation anxiety, I highly recommend the Snuggle Puppy!
5 stars because the product seems great, arrived perfectly and the quality is there. I didn’t realize that the heartbeat would be so loud. My dog has anxiety related to noise so it gave her a panic attack. I am sure it works fine for dogs with separation anxiety. One of my friend has one for her dog going blind. He gets anxious at night from not seeing them and that helps him sleep all night.
Adorable and sturdy – pup loves. Our puppy loves his snuggle puppy. Cuddles it every night in his kennel. Also, the heartbeat feature seemed to help calm his anxiety during his first few nights adjusting to our home.The only critique I have is that the Velcro is almost TOO strong?? I am not a weak person, but it was extremely hard to open the Velcro to turn on the heartbeat. I get the point of making the Velcro strong to prevent the dog from opening it, so I suggest maybe modifying the toy to allow the heart to be turned on from the outside with more ease.
