All the pills stick together, unless you keep them in the freezer. Update:I started keeping my bottle in the freezer, and have had no more problems with the pills sticking together, and also no more problems with fishy burps. Updated my rating to 4 stars.Original review:I purchased these softgels because they have a good ratio of DHA to EPA, and because they were comparatively affordable. However, just a short time after I received the bottle, all the pills started clumping together. I thought maybe they got too warm in my drawer, so started keeping them in the fridge, but this didn’t make a difference, and the problem continued to get worse.At this point, I’ve had the bottle for two months, and all of the pills are in one huge clump stuck in the bottle. I have to painstakingly reach into the bottle and try to pry off each pill individually. Often, they break open when I’m trying to get them out, so there is fish oil all over the bottom of the bottle, and I can no longer turn the bottle upside-down over my hand, or else all the fish oil pours out over everything. My husband complains that I always smell like fish oil now, because it doesn’t really come off your hands.I’m very displeased with this, and will look for another brand next time I restock. The lower price doesn’t hold up when you lose so many of the pills to breaking open in the bottle. I’ve used the 5,000 IU Vitamin D-3 softgels from NOW Foods for years, and never had this problem before.On the plus side, I don’t have any unpleasant side effects from taking these DHA-500 softgels, other than the occasional fishy burp soon after taking one. If it wasn’t for them sticking together so badly and breaking open in the bottle, I’d buy them again. Too bad…
Great for Pregnant and Nursing Women. These DHA vitamins are great for pregnant or nursing women! I took them while pregnant and just ordered another bottle now that I am nursing. These have no taste, are easy to swallow, and I’ve never noticed a fishy aftertaste. As stated on the bottle, “The natural fish oil concentrate used in this softgel is manufactured under strict quality control standards. It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e. Mercury, heavy metals, PCB’s, dioxins, and other contaminants).”I had been taking Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA (Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA – Unflavored – 180 Softgels) early in my pregnancy but switched to these when I ran out. I will continue to purchase the NOW brand DHA from now on for a few reasons:- These are enteric-coated and odor-controlled so they are easier to swallow and do not have any odor to them (which was super helpful during early pregnancy when I was very sensitive to strong flavors and scents).- These pills do not get “sticky” in the bottle like the Nordic Naturals do- You only have to take one pill to get 500mg of DHA. You need 2 pills of the Nordic Naturals to get just 450mg of DHA.- The price point for the NOW brand is significantly lower than Nordic Naturals, especially if you factor in the serving size (as noted above, you’ll need to take 2 of the Nordic Natural pills to get to about the same amount of DHA as just one NOW brand pill)Very happy with these and will stick to this brand for the duration of my time nursing (and for any future pregnancies!)
Easy to swallow and doesn’t bother my stomach. I always worry when I buy anything that’s an oil due to the potential of setting off my IBS. I take it when I eat and am not bothered by it at all. My eyes have been giving me some problems with focus shifting around a bit and this has stabilized that problem. It’s good to find such reliable products such as this brand has proven to be, at least at this point. I doubt continued use will cause me any problems digesting as I have IBS-C that always keeps me cautious about everything and anything I swallow, whether it be a liquid or solid. So far, so good. I recommend it.
Huge pills and fishy burps. I definitely get the fish flavored burps with these occasionally and they’re huge, but they’re serving their purpose and the price is good.
Good for brain. It’s a big yucky pill, but it seems to help my brain function a little better.

If you look at other fish oil products, the ratio of the total grams of fat and calories compared to the DHA and EPA is much worse than this product, meaning other products are more just non-omega 3 fish fats. I don’t really want non-omega 3 fish fats…. This also means the DHA and EPA is more dense, meaning you don’t need to take as many pills to reach the same dose. I take 3 a day and have been for years. It’s actually a pretty decent dosage.No fish burps. Easy to swallow, similar to other fish oil pills of this size.

Least fishy version. I’ve tried a few of the NOW brand fish oil supplements. This one is the least fishy, by far.
