No Scoop, Pain to Clean and make 2nd batch. 1st off the Machine did not come with the scoop as stated on amazon. Others have stated you can contact the company and get replacement. The Machine is mostly plastic and does not seem sturdy at all. The power cord is a bit to short. The cord does not even reach on bottom of the stand. Thus meaning you need extension cord or machine has to be right next to power outlet to power it. I tough the machine being small would be good thing, less of a foot print. However it make cleaning it a pain. There is no pan underneath catch un-popped seeds thus you have to vacuumed out the remains grease bits for cleaning and that is not good for a vacuum. Wiping out the Plastic inside is a huge hassle because of it’s size. There is no room to easily get a sponge and you hand between the arms that hold Cooking Bowl. You are likely to end up with a cut if you don’t do it carefully and make it take more time then it should. You have to damp Cloth Rinse the inner part of the machine, then dry it. Which is a pain because it is so small for the same reason. The Cooking bowl is easy to remove, but also hard to clean. You can not get your hand in it really give it a good Cleaning. The manual warns of building of oil and causing burning orders if it is not well cleaned. But that is really hard to do. Also rinsing the bowl and wetting it make me worry about corrosion with the metal screws and other part that are not stainless steal at the top of the bowl. Also due to the size after making the 1st batch of popcorn you will likely burn your self. The Bowl take up a large about of space in the service box. Meaning there is a not a lot of space for your hand for when you go to life the lid and add oil or seed for a 2nd batch. The Manual suggest using coconut oil for the machine, but Coconut is a semi solid at room temperature. Meaning you have to scrap it out the measuring spoon to get the oil out. This will lead to burnt hand. You have to let the bowl cool off before making a 2nd batch. The Bowl/Kettle is made out of a very think stainless steel, which is a good thing, but it makes it take a long time to cool off. Meaning there will be long periods in-between making batches. Also that means you have to keep an eye on children and toddlers around the machine. They can easily reach the hot pot due to the machines size. The reason I got the machine was so I could make some popcorn for my friends and their kids when they come over for a game night, but it is to much of risk around their kids and it does not even make enough, to give everyone some. I would send this machine back for a refund, but the box was destroyed from it being water logged, the cardboard was basically mush. The machine was incased on thing foam so chance of damage from shipping seem like slim. I am going to contact the manufacture to see if they can send me a replacement box instead of a scoop. I only recommend buying this machine a decoration and not actual use.
Shorter than I expected but overall really great. Works perfectly for us so far! The instructions were pretty unclear so the first couple of uses it was very wobbly. I did realize there are two sets of slots where the machine is supposed to be fully pushed through to lock into place, the rails go into the storage compartment and then are in place. Besides that we love it! We make 2.5oz bags and one bag is enough for my 3 little ones to share similar to a microwaveable bag. Making a second bag is super easy, just keep the kettle hot and put the oil into I warm first. We usually have a few kernels but not enough that I feel the machine doesn’t work properly. My kids love making popcorn for our movie nights 🥰 the storage compartment is nice, however the bucket it comes with must be turned on it’s side to fit into it and then I have to remove everything else in there to take it back out. I use the bucket to hold our popcorn packets now and have a few smaller containers for us. Overall pretty good for the price.
Great little machine. If you were expecting to become a popcorn street vendor and wheel this cart through the streets of LA, you will be disappointed at its sturdiness. If you were expecting to get a family sized machine for $120 that sits in a corner and is turned on for movie nights, all will be well! The size is great – small enough to hide away in a corner, closet or walk in pantry when not being used. Works great and it was very easy to clean after use. We used the 2.5 ounce All in One bags and there was very little wasted kernels and enough popcorn to satisfy three kids. I really think a lot of the negative reviews for this machine are from people misusing it. Follow the instructions and take your time putting it together. Let the kettle heat up the oil for 4-5 minutes before putting in the kernels. Don’t overfill it with kernels. Clean it within an hour of use. Treat it gently. You’ll be fine.
Directions aren’t that good. The machine itself works perfect. You will get good quality popcorn. I personally think microwave popcorn is junk. Just a reminder. There is a black cord on the inside that is attached to the kettle holder, that cord plugs underneath the kettle into the black disk that protrudes underneath and that cooks the popcorn. This machine pops the corn very quickly and keep the finished product warm. I do recommend this device I just hope it lasts awhile.
Awesome little popcorn maker. The popcorn maker itself is nice but does come with some design flaws. It’s not the easiest to be able to FULLY clean unless you’re willing to put in the time with tiny little brushes. The stand itself is wobbly and the most important pieces are a VERY cheap feeling plastic that breaks easily during assembly. My stand keeps coming apart slowly and I have to “reconnect” pieces. For the money they charge for the stand, the plastic should definitely be a higher grade plastic.
The popper is very small. Super cute! However way smaller then I thought… For one serving you’ll need to pop at least twice. I bought it for a party and spent the night slaving over popcorn. Also make sure you don’t try and overfill your machine because it will be too much for the kettle and the gear will not be able to turn the popcorn. For the price I would recommend just paying an additional $20 and getting a bigger capacity one.
Nice. Little smaller than expected. Hard to dump popcorn from basket. Cleaning is not super hard. We use it a lot. Kids & I love the popcorn when made in it. But the look is nice.
This product is ridiculous. I purchased this for my daughter who has wanted a popcorn cart for years. I was so excited to give it to her for her birthday. It took over an hour to put together because the instructions were so blurred you could not make out the pictures that went with the directions. The printed directions referred to part labels, but none of the parts were labeled. It was so difficult to put together. You are pretty much on your own to figure it out. When we did finally manage to get it assembled it did not square up, it lilted to the right and was so top heavy you had to worry that it would fall over during the actual popping. The parts of the machine are so cheaply made. You can barely get your hand in to the metal oil container where you put the kernels to pop. So, since you cannot submerge in water, you cannot get it cleaned easily and thoroughly at all. We were going to try it out this afternoon even with all of our frustrations with the actual put together product. I took it by the cart handle and lifted the legs about an inch off of the floor so that I could roll it over to the tiled floor in the kitchen. The top almost fell right off. The legs of the top container came out of the holes in the base and we had to fight with it once again to get it back together. I do not usually write reviews for products, but with this item and the amount of money I paid for this product, I felt I would be remiss if I didn’t not share my findings. I am so sorry to say, but I would definitely not recommend this popcorn cart to anyone.
So fun. Got this for husband for early Father’s Day gift. He did have to assemble it himself because the directions were TINY and the drawings were not helpful in orienting the components. He busted out his power tools and made quick work of it though. We looked online for any assembly videos and couldn’t find any, which was a bummer. After watching a video of a guy running a different but similar popcorn machine, we got some good pointers on what supplies to buy and the best seasonings. The directions on use were pretty straightforward. The popcorn cooks fast due to the small kettle size, you do need to be right there paying attention so you don’t burn anything. It is super fun to listen to and watch, our daughter got really excited about it, she loves popcorn too. Two kettles full of popcorn barely fill the bottom of the container so you can do multiple batches if you want to see your machine looking full like at the movies.I am allergic to smoke (so annoying) and have gotten migraines and cold like symptoms whenever my husband made popcorn in our microwave in the past. I LOVE that this old timey machine has eliminated that. We used coconut oil as recommended and our house smells like coconut when we are running this thing. No headache, no smoke!
A gift to my wife. A gift to my wife She loves popcorn as well as ISO when she saw this I had to get it for her. A wonderful gift. Not as tall as I thought or big, but it gets the job done to kids love it as well. Seems to work very well. The only problem I wish they would have done. This maybe put some type of catch tray to catch every seed so that it would be easier to clean but other than that, no complaints. Well, worth the buy.
Review. Easy to install, beautiful to look at. Simple using instructions prove to make this a good product. Down side: wish the top latched on for easy moving instead the top comes off and it’s hard to steer when moving. It’s a bit flimsy on the wheel aspect but with that being said it will move. Cooks great and for the price does its job.
Great machine and popcorn comes out tasting perfect. Love this Popcorn maker, its perfect for a home movie night, so easy to make popcorn just had to pour oil, salt and popcorn all together inside the maker and thats it! so much popcorn comes out in just 5 minutes. You can adjust the taste based on what you like. It came with measuring cup/spoon
Overjoyed. The only complaint that I have putting together, the bottom portion is difficult. It took a lot of work, but we got it done. We just had to reinforce the bottom.. I am so happy with the outcome family movie and game nights will never be the same. We love our machine.
Patience is required to get a great result. My wife bought this for me as an early Christmas present. We love how it looks in our kitchen and it does a good job of popping the corn. To clean out the kettle of anything stuck inside, my wife placed a bowl underneath, then tilted the popper and wiped out the inside with a slightly damp paper towel. This way there won’t be anything inside to burn when you preheat the popper for the next batch of popcorn.Putting it together is another story. I have never seen directions that are so poor or lacking in detail. I will offer a few of my suggestions. First remove the kettle from inside the main unit. Kettle is packed in Styrofoam. Only way to get the kettle out is to pull the kettle straight up and out of the Styrofoam. It is tight. You really have to pull. The Styrofoam can now be titled and taken out. Wipe out the inside of the main unit and the kettle itself.Assembly: Inside the box are 2 basic wrenches and 1 quality screwdriver for assembly. Be aware that the two washers, nuts and screws will be fastened together in the package for the handle. They are not separate pieces to find. You will have extra #4 screws. In Step 1 the bottom plate is solid and the flat side will face up. The top cover has two pieces. Once the top cover is screwed on the other piece snaps in place. During this step I tilted the Compartment G on its side to make it easier to find the holes in the cover plates. The screwdriver supplied will work but it’s a tight fit and the screws are very small so it’s easier to tilt it on its side to find the holes and put the screws in. Also realize that you have to apply pressure to put the screws in. Some screws will not work so I believe that is why you get extra. In Step 3 make sure the edges of the outside of the door are over compartment G before you fasten the door at the top and bottom with screws. In Step 4 make sure the bar is attached to the inside of the wheel. In Step 4 find the end of the support bar with the small hole and slide it over the push pin on the rod that is now attached to the wheel. In Step 9 it will take 2 people to slide the assembled storage compartment G over the 4 rods. Push it all the way down until the support bars touch the top cover plate. Place the main unit on top of the storage compartment and then flip the 2 spring loaded rods underneath the main unit and it will ‘lock’ into place. After you plug the electric cord to the kettle it is easier to place the kettle inside the unit by tilting it and placing the left side in its slot first. Attach the crank handle knowing that the handle is screwed in counterclockwise. There is a push button on the door to the main compartment. To keep the front fold out door closed you must push it in first and then close the main door. Finally you are ready to enjoy your popcorn.
