Dry hair ppl purchase a hair mask to add with this product. I gave 2 stars for softness because it dried out my hair (African type grade). But, smells good and as a licensed cosmetologist, I xan say that the tingly feeling helped loosen my scalp to massage my scalp during shampoo. (Massage keeps blood flow to decrease un-natural hairloss.) I also used the matching conditioner. Which also gave a very good tingly feel. Now for those who hair is naturally dry, do not run from this product. Purchase a good conditioning hair mask and apply before the matching contioner or after which ever you perfer. I do before to hydrate easier. When your out add some hydrating leave in creams. One of my favorite is butter cream by “As I Am”. For Ethnic hair types I would not use this product everyday, due to the drying effect it gives. I would love to see the makes create a product that moisturizes as well for ethnic hair or even create a hair mask for dry hair. Even for Caucasian hair I would use a light pea size oil on palm when done, rub vigorously on palm and add to whole hair to keep the fly aways from looking like a over permed 80’s curls. Overall I gave a 4 stars due to the overdrying effect it gives (that is to any hair type) but for Caucasian the conditioner should give a 5 syar effect. Would I purchase again? So far yes. I always do a re-review after a couple months. I feel this product is good for a youtube channel review, so I may do it there as well. Review would be if this product actually works? So far honest review after one wash I would purchase again.
Nioxin Shampoo Customer Since 2016. I’ve been using Nioxin 2 since 2016. I am a guy. A stylist ,who’s husband was starting to see hair loss, recommended it to me when I asked her about alternatives to Rogaine. My hair (back then) was thin but dense, and I was starting to see noticeable hair fall in the shower. So, I gave Nioxin a try. It smells like tea tree oil shampoo and has a nice menthol coolness to the scalp. I have sensitive skin, and I did not experience any scalp breakouts or irritation. I noticed new hair sprouting at my hairline and my hair felt thicker overall in the first year. I think the original intent for the Minoxidil ingredient is to support existing hair (like a knee brace for an aging runner) but not to necessarily reverse balding.I’ve been using the Nioxin 2 shampoo for nearly 7 years now! Although it has not totally stopped my hair from continuing to thin, I definitely feel that without it I would have less density for sure! I definitely feel my hair is thicker because of the shampoo, and it has an amazing clean feeling without drying out my scalp. I run a lot, and I appreciate the cleansing aspect of this shampoo in general. Yes, it can be expensive, but if you can afford it in your regime, I’d recommend it as preventive care.
LIFE CHANGING. I have been struggling w/ hair fall/loss since having a bad illness. I had tried multiple shampoos and detangling sprays. They all left my hair greasy and flat. This shampoo improved my hair after one use! It gave me so much more volume and cut down, somewhat, on hair fall. I can’t wait to see how much improvement I will notice after further use. This is worth every penny!
Best shampoo for thinning hair. Love the stuff. I have been using it for 12+ years. I feel as though it has slowed down my hair loss. Still have a thick head of hair in the mid 40s.

Using Nioxin 2 for over 15 years. The lady who cuts my hair noticed many years ago that I was losing my thin hair and likely see balding start. She recommended Nioxin 2. I bought it (it is pricey) and have used it ever since. I noticed when I started using it that there were fewer or no hairs in the drain. Now, some fifteen years later, I’ve still got a full head of hair, no hairs in the drain, etc. Nioxin actually works and I highly recommend it to anyone, and particularly to guys who are starting to lose hair. You’ll retain as much hair as you had when you started, plus if you’re up to massaging sections that have already lost hair (e.g., temple area), your hair will actually grow back! Highest ratings from me, and worth every extra nickel it costs!

It’s A Game Changer For Fine Hair. My cosmetologist recommended this thickening shampoo, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! My hair feels noticeably fuller and has more volume, without any heaviness or greasiness. The formula is lightweight, lathers well, and has a pleasant, subtle scent. It also leaves my hair refreshed. I’m so glad I took my cosmetologist’s advice.
Great cleansing shampoo. I do remember when I first used this product and my head used to tingle whenever I washed my hair. not sure if the ingredients have changed but maybe it has. It still does a great job of cleansing my hair and removing all signs of oils all the way down to the roots. I’ve been pleased and this bottle is quite large and lasts a long time as you only need a dime amount every time for great sudsing. Good luck!

Good conditioner. Good conditioner for thinning hair prone to breakage. Locks in moisturizer well. Leaves hair soft but not weighted down which is important for thin hair
Skeptical at first, but now I like this shampoo. One of the “gifts” of aging is thinning hair. My hair is thin and fine to begin with, so I decided to give this Nioxin System 2 shampoo a try. The first couple of times I used it, it seemed to make my hair even softer and finer, which was not what I was after. But after the 3rd and 4th shampoo, my hair was still soft and fine, but with more body. And, I have to say, I am not seeing as many fallen hairs in the shower, which is great! I recommend this shampoo, but wish it was sold in a smaller quantity bottle.
Saw results in TWO DAYS. I’ve been stressed for almost a year over managing my long hair. I Felt gross and like It was never properly washed, then started panicking when I began losing it much more frequently than I remember . Decided to splurge a bit after seeing the good reviews and have no regrets. This is the softest my hair has been In YEARS and within 2 days I’m losing much less hair than I was the week prior. My personal experience was great and I’m already reccomeding it to my buddies.

Much less hair falling. My hair thanks me for this product. It no longer continually falls in the shower. Much much less thinning in only a few weeks. Great product, i recommend it.
Works but be patient. This shampoo works well but be patient. I have been using the shampoo for about 9 months My hair is fuller and healthier. I now have about 1-2 inches of new growth. It literally makes my hair feel squeaky clean. My head does not itch as bad and I have less dandruff. It smells nice…it reminds me of the Girl Scout Thin Mints.

Great products. So I bought the shampoo and conditioner after starting to use minoxidil for hair regrowth. I’ll start with cons, the cost is high and you can’t find this product at normal stores. The pros, I really feel like the shampoo is cleaning my scalp. It’s not like a tea tree cleaning sensation, rather you feel like the tingle of a cleaning. My hair is very oily and this product helps control that. It doesn’t really smell one way of the other. I let the conditioner sit in for a few min and overall I don’t see any hair loss when washing my hair so I will come to the conclusion that this shampoo and conditioner help
My husband buys it for me just to save our drains now. Listen, I don’t usually get emotionally attached to shampoo, but Nioxin System? We’re basically in a committed relationship now. It’s not the cheapest shampoo out there, but that also usually means it actually WORKS!…if you’re tired of your hair looking like it’s going through an existential crisis, this is the stuff.I started noting in my phone notes how much hair was falling out after every shampoo, because it used to be a lot. And after 7 times of using this I was down to just 2-3 hairs instead of a handful!!After a month, I swear my hair started staging a comeback tour. 85% of people said it thickens—I’m pretty sure the other 15% just weren’t using it right. My hair feels fuller, denser, and way less sad. Like, it finally RSVP’d to the party on my head and brought friends.I also didn’t have to use nearly as much as I used to: a much smaller amount of it lathers up JUICY!!! So good! So I’m not going thru it nearly as fast as I thought I would! And it smells great: no strong smell to it really as all.The real MVP here is the scalp situation. This shampoo is like a juice cleanse, but for your follicles. It gently kicks out all the gunk and leaves your scalp feeling fresh, not like you just scrubbed it with regret and bad decisions. Plus, with niacinamide and biotin in the mix, it’s basically feeding your scalp a five-star brunch.Is it magic? No. Is it science wrapped in a fancy bottle that actually works? Absolutely.Final verdict: it’s easy to use, effective, and My hair’s thicker, my scalp’s happier, and I no longer cry in the shower. 10/10 would lather, rinse, and repeat.
Good products. This shampoo and conditioner does keep my hair from falling out, but it tends to make my scalp itch. Hopefully it wouldn’t do that to others.
Squeaky Clean. I sure hope that this product helps in delaying my thinning hair. One thing I can be sure of and that is this shampoo does leave my hair “squeaky clean”. It does help remove the oils and remnants from pollution and other hair products.
Great for oily hair. I have oily hair, this stuff keeps my oil at bay and lathers great! It’s very effective and I can tell that when I use this my hair feels soft and clean for many days!
it works!!! Love it. Ive been using this for haoir shedding from the ripe old age of 18. Thyroid or ??? It works . That’s a lot of years of this product. I use #2 and also used more of their products. Its a great shampoo.
Help for Pilar Cysts on Scalp. I Ordered this for my daughter, who is 18, and who has suffered from hereditary “pilar cysts” that form on her scalp. She has other scalp issues, possibly related to her Hashimotos Thyroiditis, that have been causing inexplicable hair shedding and an overall overactively oily and inflamed/dandruff afflicted scalp since age 9. I have tried many things including prescription, detergent-like shampoos that have not helped much with the hair loss and scalp. However, I find it very interesting that her pilar cysts, which usually had to be surgically removed, have begun to remedy on their own since using this product. There are two things I can possibly attribute this to: 1. Using an otc “hair vitamin” that contains biotin (she has used these before and never had much effect, and never affected the cysts) 2. This shampoo. As I said, she has suffered with these cysts for a decade and tey never remedy themselves, and always get to the point where we have to regrettably have them surgically removed by a dermatologist. She had one just “burst” on its own (did not notice, just saw a small scab that took a few weeks to go away). Now, a second one, which ironically reappeared after two surgical interventions in the same spot, has begun to soften and look similar to the one that had burst. I am hoping that this shampoo is the reason and that it is somehow causing the cysts to break down. This is just my theory, but if you suffer from these blasted awful things, you will know that if it can save you from a trip under the knife, it would be great. The cyst that ruptured healed as well or better than the surgically excised ones she has had. As far as a shampoo, while I do not see a huge difference in hair growth or dandruff, her oily hair is cleaner and healthier looking post use. I do not bother with the mousse-like step of this program or the conditioner, which is not very detangling. The shampoo is great. Nice scent that isn’t bothersome or overly medicinal and it lathers very well on her very thin hair, making it easier to clean the scalp.
Good quality shampoo. This is high quality shampoo. I have used system 1 and 3 and I have found that 2 is right for me. I don’t think that I have thinning hair beyond natural aging. However, I like that it makes my hair feel thicker and stronger. I like the way it foams up, and it smells like it is being activated. My hair looks very nice after using this and the system 2 conditioner. I definitely recommend using the shampoo and conditioner together.
Great shampoo. When my husband started noticing his hair receding in his 30s ( he’s 57) he started using Nioxcin. He hasn’t used anything else since then and swears by it. It smells minty. His hair has receded more BUT it’s been a very slow process.
I was skeptical, but this stuff works. I’m amazed to say, this shampoo really does make hair look thicker and helps a good deal to obscure thin patches on the scalp. I’m usually very skeptical about product claims, but I’m delighted to say I was mistaken to doubt this product. I’ve been using it for about two months, and after just one month, the thin patches on my scalp were considerably less noticeable; two months in, running my hands through my hair, I can even feel that it’s thicker.I’ve read that the ingredients in these products don’t actually promote new hair growth, but rather, enhance the hair shafts to make them appear thicker. However it works, it decidedly works, and works better than I ever expected.I use the shampoo with the conditioner from the same Nioxin system. I’ve tried the leave-in serum, too, but I’m less enthusiastic about that product. When they tell you to wash, condition, and then use the serum, what they DON’T mention is that the serum – not surprisingly come to think of it – temporarily stiffens your hair, so that unless you’re accustomed to styling your hair in some inflexible, “wet-look” style, your hair will not be styleable in the way you’d usually prefer. From what I’ve read, the ingredients in the serum don’t really do anything more than what the shampoo and conditioner do, so I’m not using the serum any longer.But the shampoo and conditioner are very effective, and for now, I don’t see myself using any others any time soon. The price is not ridiculous, and the two products are worth it.I’m going to post this review for the conditioner, as well.
Noticeably refreshing and volumizing. I’ve been really impressed with this shampoo. It leaves my scalp feeling clean and refreshed without stripping my hair, and I’ve noticed my hair looks fuller after consistent use. The tingling sensation feels invigorating, and a little goes a long way. Great option if you’re looking to support thicker looking hair while keeping your scalp healthy. Would definitely repurchase.
