I buy so much on Amazon that leaving a review never really crosses my mind… Unless the product is so phenomenal or terrible that it’s a civic duty to give my fellow amazoners the details! I once owned the original Nija blender when I lived with my mother. It was extremely heavy duty and expensive with all the “bells and whistle”.I was SO EXCITED when I was browsing Amazon and found this Ninja Blender.I was even more shocked with its low cost and how simple it looked to use.I’ve had this bad boy for the past 2 months and have had no problems with it! I especially love that is also comes with small processor.I have gartroparesis (my stomach muscles have difficulty contracting I can easily choke on real food and if I’m lucky not to choke, I have to deal with the vomiting and pain after.) Saves so much time. Anything else is, well, uncivilized. COSORI Mini 2.1 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Programmable Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Sauté, Steamer, Yogurt Maker & Warmer, Includes Glass Lid, Sealing Ring and Recipe Book WOW!

Definitely recommend this to anyone who hates spending time with food prep! That’s pretty much the summary statement for the time-saving Ninja QB900B Master Prep Chopper, Blender, Food Processor that I just bought.
Nothing I own has done more to shave serious time off of my food preparation adventures!

2nd place goes to my COSORI Mini 2.1 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Programmable Pressure Cooker (also purchased on Amazon).with the combination of the Ninja and the Cosori, I spent more time thinking about what I wanted to eat, than I did actually preparing the food!

I was a little bit cautious in buying a chopper. I figured I needed one to keep from cutting vital parts of my anatomy – mainly my fingers, as I’m a guitarist and I need my factory-issued ten digits. Mandatory.

RESEARCH – RESEARCH – RESEARCH!So I did my research (as I am a research scientist/computer programmer) and I was going to buy one of those finger guards or cut-proof gloves ($10 – $20) and then I began to think about it and decided that a food chopper would be better suited.

So I looked into those manual pressing jobs, but the only one that I thought would last for the duration was a $125 one and I said, “No way!”

So then I looked at one of those manual, pull string gizmos, that remind me of a lawnmower starter.
I almost got one, I actually ordered one and then canceled the order in less than five minutes after reading the reviews on a few of these types of units.

The key to getting a good product is not to look at the five-star ratings, but rather the 1 to 2 star ratings.
These will tell you far more than the 4 and 5-star ratings which people are gushing over. I’ve found that people will usually go much farther in describing what’s wrong with a product than they will about how good something is. Probably because they’re enjoying the product too much to write about it.

Because the Ninja Food Processor saved me soooo much time, I figure I have the time to write this and still have saved time.
ACTUAL OPERATION
The operation of the machine is a breeze.

You do have to chop your veggies into 1-1/2 inch portions just to fit them into the bowl. I’ve only used the smaller bowl and will test out the larger one later – my guess is that it will save even more time as I’ll be able to add whole peppers at a time. This thing is so fast and amazing (and relatively quiet too) that you have to be careful not to liquify your veggies.
I literally pulsed the control button two or three times and it went to work like nothing I’ve ever seen.

MAINTENANCE NOTESThe instructions say not to operate it for more than 15 seconds a pulse. This limit will probably turn a brick into butter. LOL! (It even does ice. Wow!)

Cleanup was incredibly fast. I hate to clean. Hate it! But this was the fastest I’ve cleaned up on any appliance I have!

And no tears from onions and I don’t have to handle peppers as much, so washing my hands afterwards is much faster. If you prep jalapeños and green peppers, it takes a awhile to scrub off the juice. And believe you me, I’ve had my share of running to the faucet to flush my eyes due to the pepper juice! Complete bummer!

RELIABILITYThe unit is so sturdy and efficient, that I doubt that it will ever break down. This is due to the fact that it takes less than 2-3 seconds to complete any job.

The only part I see wearing out are the blades, but they’re razor sharp and should probably last 6 months to a year. Now I’m not being paid to write this and I even bought a refurbished unit for $24, but I can tell you that if it only lasted one year, I would have made my money back many times over in saved time.

And even if I’d of bought one brand new (for $15-$20 more) it would have been well worth it!ADDITIONAL NOTESThat’s about it. The unit was sooo good, that it inspired me to spend a little more time than I planned on this review, but if it can help others to get a great product, save time (and fingers!) then it’s definitely worth it.
About the only thing it doesn’t do is stuff like French fries and anything that needs to be uniformly cut (for presentation) but the fact that is also doubles as a blender makes it well worth it, as the dicing like press products don’t have the blending ability that the Ninja has, and in actuality it produces very nicely chopped food as a result of it being a quality product!
Thank you Amazon and all of its reviewers! And thank you Ninja Kitchen for such a fine product!

OK, now my carrot, sweet pepper, jalapeño, green pepper, rice lentil, split pea soup in my Cosori Pressure Cooker is about ready. I’m gonna settle down to a nice meal that only took 10-12 minutes to make. As opposed to the usual 25-30 minutes.
I’d give the Ninja 10-stars if I could. As a bachelor who works out of his home-office, I couldn’t be happier.

Sincerely, Billi!

  4. Works GREAT. Blades are DANGEROUS. Used this to make my first by my hand smoothie. Actually, before I talk about that, let’s talk about cleaning the parts before use.I consider myself a prudently safe person when it comes to being careful with dangerous objects/things, as I was trained that way back as a child.Yet, when I got to cleaning the blades for this, I ended up with two deep deep cuts on my fingers, while trying my best to avoid such a thing. The blades on this thing are so sharp it’s almost unbelievable. Wear special gloves designed for handling sharp objects if you have them, when cleaning the blades. Or, otherwise, be careful on top of careful on top of careful, or otherwise break out the med kit before you start cleaning.Getting back to the smoothie, threw in a sugar mango (minus the pit of course, but with skin), a banana, an apple, some blueberry Greek yogurt, and some honey in with pre-crushed ice (no need to ask the Ninja to chop up ice cubes if your fridge gives a crushed ice option)…Spun up the unit, pulsed the motor until I got the consistency I wanted, and Mmm Mm, SO good.Next I made some guacamole. I put fresh cut onion, fresh peeled garlic, fresh cilantro, and lemon juice, salt, no tomato I can’t eat them, spun it up, and quickly went too far in regards to getting a pesto consistency rather than chopped result. Live and learn, this thing is POWERFUL. Less is more, depending.I dumped the “pesto” in with fresh deskinned pitted avocado, added some fresh ground pepper, and mashed it all up to leave at least the avocado chunky, everything else being not chunky.Lesson learned here… there is a such a thing as too much garlic, which is the perfect amount.Only just begun the path of incorporating the Ninja into my food prep, but paint me impressed, with band-aids on me fingers.

  5. Great. I’ve owned several of these!! Such a great option. I store the motor in an upper cabinet. I drilled a hole into the bottom of that cabinet near the back. Not visible at all from the front of the cabinets. Then I ran a short cord splitter up into the cabinet from the closest outlet. The cord lays flat and matches my walls. (I flipped the outlet upside down so the plug would lie flat.) I use one side of the cord for the ninja motor. Now I can keep it all off the counter. But I don’t have to take it out and plug it in for each use. I just pull down the pitcher from one shelf, fill it, put it on the counter just below the cabinet it belongs in. I use the motor from the cabinet. And then put the motor back up. It’s fast to clean up. So I can still use it daily without it taking up counter space. And no visual clutter on the counter.I like that the motor on this doesn’t heat up the contents and reduce nutrients. I prefer it to a vitamix. I replace it every 3-4 years. But it’s so much cheaper.I’ve also been able to replace my food processor with this. It’s great for a minimalist kitchen.

  6. Best and Only Blender You’ll Need. I’ve had this exact blender for 4 years and just bought another one for my sisters wedding gift. Mine is still going strong with zero issues. I use this daily to make matcha, smoothies, hummus, chop veggies etc… and it never fails. Plus the price is unbeatable! If it breaks, $30 some bucks won’t break the bank – and I’ve yet to have to replace mine. It’s simple, the blades come out for easy cleaning. No need for fancy settings or buttons. This is it!

  7. I love this! It’s easy to clean. I bought this for making frappes and it works like a charm. It is way easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The motor is at the top so you never have to clean that part since there’s a splash shield. It grinds ice into a fine powder in seconds. it’s great for icees and frappes.

OMG! Incredible. Important to note: My comments are in the context of having been a Vitamix user for over 20 years. We bought the Ninja because we were looking for something to replace our Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus. We were attracted to the Ninja because the reviews said it turned out more consistent results compared to others. We also noted that people warned about how quickly it could turn ingredients from chunks to mush. Both are very true. What we love about the Ninja is that it’s super light, and easy to assemble and clean. It’s also very quiet compared to other machines. And, the bases are super stable–no traveling across the counter as our Vitamix wants to do sometimes. What’s remarkable is how quickly the Ninja breaks down ingredients. We’ve been going crazy making nut butters, including peanut and pecan butters. That’s where the Ninja totally shines in comparison to all other machines (and we’ve used them all, from the Vitamix and Cuisinart to others!). Quiet, effective, and speedy are the three words to describe the Ninja. We also made raw cranberry relish (raw cranberries, apples, whole oranges, and dates) that the Ninja zipped out in seconds. It’s true that the Ninja won’t turn out the kind of silky smooth cream soups that the Vitamix will, but if the Vitamix earns an A+ in this use case, the Ninja earns an A-.You also can’t beat the price: Less than 10% of the cost for a Vitamix. Do the math. It’s a simple equation if you don’t absolutely need silky smooth textures. And there’s no comparison with the Cuisinart Mini-Prep, which we found to be noisy, OK for salsa and courser chopping, but not great at nut butters. For the easy of use, what it produces, quietness, and price, the Ninja can’t be beat.

  9. Penelope Reviews July 21, 2024 at 12:00 am

Love the wide top. Whether I’m tossing in peanut butter, macadamia nuts, apples, or even frozen berries, it blends everything perfectly smooth every single time. One feature I absolutely love is the wide opening at the top. It makes adding ingredients so much easier and less messy. No more tiny openings where half my protein powder ends up on the counter instead of in the blender. Plus, the 48 oz pitcher is just the right size for making enough shakes to last me a few days. The 16 oz chopping bowl is a nice bonus, too. I’ve used it for chopping veggies and nuts, and it handles everything like a champ. The 400-watt motor packs a punch without being too loud, and it’s great that everything is dishwasher safe. Cleanup is a breeze!Having gone through a few of these blenders over the years, I can confidently say that they are built to last and perform consistently. The sleek grey design looks great on my countertop, and it fits right into my kitchen’s aesthetic.

  10. Powerful and Versatile with Minor Blade Length Issue. The Ninja QB900B Master Prep Food Processor Blender is a versatile and powerful kitchen appliance, ideal for both blending and chopping tasks. With its 48 oz pitcher, 16 oz chopping bowl, and 400-watt motor, it promises efficiency and convenience for a wide range of culinary needs. However, there is a minor issue with the blade length in the larger blender that slightly detracts from its overall performance. One of the major strengths of this appliance is its powerful 400-watt motor, which handles both blending and chopping tasks with ease. Whether you are preparing smoothies, salsas, or purees, the Ninja Master Prep delivers consistent and reliable results. The dual-functionality of blending and chopping makes it a versatile addition to any kitchen. The 48 oz pitcher and 16 oz chopping bowl are thoughtfully designed to cater to different batch sizes. The larger pitcher is perfect for making smoothies and frozen drinks for multiple servings, while the smaller chopping bowl is ideal for finely chopping ingredients or preparing single-serving portions. Both containers are made from durable, dishwasher-safe materials, ensuring easy cleanup and maintenance. However, the blades in the larger 48 oz pitcher are slightly shorter than expected. This design limitation means that blending large quantities of ingredients may require more time and effort, as the shorter blades sometimes struggle to reach all the contents evenly. This issue is not a deal-breaker but can be a minor inconvenience, particularly for those who frequently blend larger batches.Despite this drawback, the Ninja QB900B Master Prep still performs admirably in most tasks. Its ability to handle frozen blending and chopping efficiently makes it a valuable tool for various recipes. The convenience of dishwasher-safe components adds to its user-friendly design, making post-use cleaning a breeze. In summary, the Ninja QB900B Master Prep Food Processor Blender is a powerful and versatile kitchen appliance, well-suited for a variety of blending and chopping needs. The minor issue with the blade length in the larger pitcher slightly affects its performance but does not significantly diminish its overall value. Given its strengths and minor flaw, this product earns a solid 4-star rating.

  11. I almost never write reviews… but this product deserves it. As an avid smoothie maker, I’ve found this product to be a game-changer. It makes smoothie making MUCH easier than anything else I’ve ever used and has no problem taking on large pieces of ice or frozen fruit and turning them into pulp.It matches the performance of my larger Ninja blender. The process is quick—2 minutes to make, 30 seconds to clean. With just 4 easy-to-wash pieces, it’s far more convenient than traditional blenders or ineffective blender bottles. This efficient, mess-free device has significantly simplified my daily smoothie routine. One of the best products I’ve ever purchase. I’ll get tons of use out of it.

  12. 8 years and still going strong. I bought this blender in 2016 and I still use it! I mainly make smoothies with it but recently used it for hummus. It turned out great. I get worried that the blades need replacement because large frozen banana chunks take longer to pulverize. But other than that, I have no complaints. What I love most about this blender is that it is easy to clean (most parts) and it’s the perfect size! I hate cleaning blenders. However, these blades can be easily removed so I can freely scrub the container. The only part that’s hard to clean is the lid. There’s some crevices that are hard to reach but maybe I just have to soak it in a bowl of water to get rid of the curst. This blender is also not too big which I like. I don’t need a hardcore blender like the Vitamix. My kitchen isn’t big enough. This blender is easy to store in my cabinets and not a hassle to assemble. Just put the blades into the container, lock the lid, and then put the blender cap once you plug it in.

  15. My wife was PO’d when I purchased this but I told her it had great reviews. Well… no she can’t stop talking about how much she loves it. HAHHAHA. Only issue is storing it can be a bit challenging as the motor is separate from the containers, has a cord and is a bit awkward to place anywhere but on the containers it was built for.BUT, we just stick it in a tupperware container.

  16. Best Smoothie Blender I’ve Ever Owned. Now, this thing is verrry basic but I’m one who appreciates the simple things. No unnecessary bells and whistles and does exactly what I need it to. I’ve used the larger blender everyday since it arrived. I make a protein shake everyday with frozen fruit, yogurt, protein powder, etc. I have used the smaller blender to grind coffee beans and it’s worked great. Not really meant for it but it works just fine if using a coffee maker with paper filters. It is super easy to clean and is soooo much more affordable than a lot of blenders out there. I DO hand wash it all even though some items are dishwasher safe, I just don’t trust it. I had a fancier and much more expensive ninja prior to this that broke within a month of using and it was just a huge disappointment. I questioned whether or not I should try this brand again, but I took a shot and this one was definitely worth it! It has surprised me with how well it works. Hope to update in the months to come with its continued reliability.

  17. Blend power and easy to clean. Had I already had one like this one before? But the day my daughter came to my house and saw how simple and powerful it is, I couldn’t help but give it to her, but I ordered another one again because it is easy to use, the blades are very strong, blend power is perfect is easy to clean, it doesn’t take up much space in your kitchen and you can do many things in it, the shipping is super fast, I really recommend this product, the best on the market for the low price they have.

  19. It’s an amazing entry level blender. Fairly multifunctional.

  20. This is the best food processor/blendor I’ve ever used. Seriously, RUN, don’t walk, to get this ninja. The price is amazing, and it works great. It cuts up an onion in less than 3 seconds. I’m now making juices, and it blends them perfectly every single time! I’m getting this for everyone as gifts!!!
