Best appliance since the microwave. Been having this fryer for 2 weeks now and it has NOT rested yet. I LOVE IT & wonder how I’ve gone this long w/out one. Before I start bragging on this thing, I am by no way endorsed by Ninja or getting paid by them. I’ve owned a few Ninja products blenders and still have one that’s over 10 years old. They make quality machines. This fryer is a life & time saver…especially if you’re a lazy cook. I have been researching air fryers for the past few months and nothing comes close to the Ninja. The basket size isn’t the large 5+ quart capacity like the bigger fryers, (Ninja is only 4qt), but this thing cooks so fast you won’t miss the extra 1 qt. It comes w/ a crisper that works perfectly, a recipe book and a multi-layer rack. The first night I had it I made wings and I tell you that I will NEVER buy fried chicken again!!! Yes, they were that crispy and tasted much better. I bought the Louisiana fried chicken flour from Walmart, battered the wings, spritzed w/ a little olive oil and had fried chicken in 10 minutes. No greasy mess, no 3rd degree burns from hot oil, and your house doesn’t smell like a chicken joint for 4 days afterward. Because the Ninja uses a ceramic coating on their fryers the clean up is very easy. Next, I made sweet potato fries! Had a bag of frozen ones in the freezer and popped those babies in for 10 min. They were crispier than McDonald’s. I tried homemade fries but the procedure takes too long. You have to peel, slice, soak potatoes, dry them…I’m just ready to pop them in the fryer and eat! It has been nonstop air fryer cooking in this house! I hit youtube to get a few recipes and it’s been on ever since. What I like best about this fryer is it has a dehydrator feature and how fast it cooks. Frozen chicken wings? No problem! Throw them in the fryer for 10 minutes and they’re defrosted. I’ve cooked pizza, fries, wings, reheated food, fried zucchini, and tonight I baked a chocolate cake. Everything came out perfect! Next up is donuts! The only thing I don’t like about this fryer is 30 seconds after it finishes cooking it shuts off. I know this is a safety feature but I always have more items to cook. In 2 weeks, I have used my microwave twice, and that was to reheat coffee. Before I forget, I did cinnamon rolls too! I used the canned Pillsbury ones and it normally takes 20 min in the oven. In the Ninja? 8 minutes and that’s if you like them brown. I actually could have stopped it at 5 min and they would be perfect. My house smelled like a Cinnabon factory!😛 I have used every feature on this fryer except the dehydrator but I’ll be making beef jerky soon. Overall, I am VERY pleased! The best selling feature was the price & the size. The Ninja is much slimmer than some of the bulkier fryers and fits under my cabinet nicely. I’m also happy it only used 1500W unlike some of the larger fryers that burn 1800 which could kill your light bill. The outside of the fryer doesn’t get hot so you won’t have to worry about getting burned but do take caution when taking your food out. Is it loud? My exhaust fan on my stove is louder than the Ninja. The extension cord on it is long so you don’t have to worry about being limited on where you can place it. I think I’ve covered everything? This thing is THE BOMB! If you’re wondering what cookware you can use, just about anything you place in a microwave you can put in the Ninja. I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a few 7″ foil pans I use to reheat food & bake in. Also, grab you some silicone tongs while you’re there so you don’t scratch the surface of your fryer. This thing has been almost as good as a kid getting a new bike for Christmas. You will NOT be disappointed w/ this purchase. Happy & healthy cooking!
It’s a quite a bit misleading. Don’t get me wrong – I love this air fryer. Everything I’ve made so far has turned out perfect. I love getting the fried foods without all the oil and grease. NOW the misleading part. If you scroll through the pictures they make it look like you can put a lot of food in it and just cook it up. WELL YOU CAN’T! You can only do one layer at a time. (Idk about fries haven’t tried them yet) I was soooooo disappointed with that. I got the biggest one and it’s still too small for just me and the hubs. (It’s huge on the outside but pretty small on the inside). I have to make 2 and 3 batches of things depending on what I make – like wings or chicken fingers. Meanwhile the 1st batch is getting cold while I do the other 2 batches. I’ve cooked a cornish game hen twice and it was just big enough to fit. I can’t imagine cooking a whole chicken in it unless it was a small one. It has plenty of depth just not much width. It sooooo easy to clean! I would give it 5 stars if they hadn’t lied in the pictures.
Wonderful. I already had an air fryer that worked ok but the unit was big and difficult to store. The ninja is the perfect size and I can keep on my countertop. I love the max crisp for fries, and other frozen snack foods. The air roaster cooks Meats well and the meat remains tender and juicy. I used the dehydrator to dry orange slices for fall decor and they also turned out beautifully. Would diffuser revoked this product.
Very easy to use. I liked it so much I bought a Ninja Grill too, but I only use this smaller airfryer. I dehydrate chicken breast slices for dog jerky treats, but also use it for many foods. As there are two in the household, it serves us well. A large family would have to load it multiple times and I think it would go unused.
We find many uses for it. It is simple to use and is widely used for a variety of foods__more that we expected. When cooking french fries or bacon you must use the grid (optional) or the food will be taken up into the fan. I no longer use it to cook bacon: instead I use a 13″ shallow pan and fry the bacon. In fact I don’t recommend it for bacon. My wife (gourmet cook) fines many uses for the Ninja including fries, vegetables, and even steaks. No, we don’t use it for chicken wings mostly because it conflicts with our diet.
I love this. Honestly, I wish I owned the dual drawer Ninja Foodi air fryer (specifically the one that goes up to 450°), but as a travel nurse it is simply too big for me to take from location to location. That said, I absolutely love this air fryer. I love that it goes up to 450°, because it makes quick work of crisping and browning food. It cleans beautifully, either by hand or by simply popping the drawer into the dishwasher. The controls are super easy to use.
I will not deny, the difficulty I experienced with Amazon, in finally receiving this item. But I cannot deny the culinary value and its corresponding speed in cooking items I would have never considered trying before. The top quality of this product is undeniable. The company has reason to be proud. Home made fresh potato fries, the multitude of frozen and fresh products this item can cook at a fraction of the time, using less energy and less mess to clean afterwards…all of this with less damage to your heath. Fantastic! I could go on, but I think you get the message. I am retired and I honestly admit, I am no chef and I easily get discouraged when it comes to cooking. This product has encouraged me to do more cooking, eating healthier and having less to clean after the fact. My only disappointment is that product makers seem, so far, to avoid air fryer cooking instructions. I, however eclectic this to change soon. Congrats Ninja!
Versatile, Easy to Use, and Perfect for Healthy Cooking. The Ninja AF161 Max XL Air Fryer is a game-changer in the kitchen! With its 5.5-quart capacity, it’s large enough to cook meals for the whole family, and the versatility is incredible—it cooks, crisps, roasts, bakes, reheats, and even dehydrates! Whether I’m air frying fries, roasting veggies, or baking desserts, this air fryer handles it all with ease. The Max Crisp technology ensures that food comes out perfectly crispy without the need for excessive oil, making it a healthier alternative to traditional frying. The high gloss finish in grey adds a modern touch to my kitchen, and the design is sleek and compact enough to fit on my countertop without taking up too much space.Cleanup is a breeze with the nonstick, dishwasher-safe basket, and the controls are intuitive and easy to use. The reheat and dehydrate functions are a great bonus, making it more than just an air fryer—it’s an all-in-one kitchen tool.Overall, this air fryer is a must-have for anyone who wants fast, convenient, and healthy cooking options. Highly recommend!
Es una muy buena freidora muy fácil de usar y no es tan pesada, en cuádruple de espacio siento que le faltó ya que está más alta que ancha
Compact, easy to clean, great design. I wish this came in an XXL size. The design is sleek, simple, and modern, which fits my kitchen perfectly, but the size is too compact. You won’t be able to cook a whole chicken unless it’s very small. Aside from that, it’s definitely a great value for the price. I used to have a Philips XXL air fryer, which was easy to maintain and spacious enough to cook anything without any issues, like flipping beef or fish steaks. However, that one cost over $300. This one is less than half the price, and I don’t notice much difference in cooking results, except for the smaller basket size. It’s easy to clean, dishwasher safe, and comes with an attachable layer inside the basket that creates a small gap from the bottom, allowing food to cook evenly without needing to flip it too often. Just be careful with the extra crispy function—it definitely makes your food crispier, but you might want to reduce the cooking time from the recipe to avoid burning.
Great Air Fryer. This Air Fryer is the best. I have been on a quest to get an Air Fryer that covered all bases. Not to big, not to small, one that cooked fast and and did the crispy thing. I have tried three before this one and this is the keeper. Perfect size, wattage and temperature range is perfect. Super easy to clean with a nylon brush. Cooks food fast and gets it nice and crispy. I have noticed that it doesn’t always shut off when you pull the basket out. Easy enough to push off though. Not sure if that is a defect but I am keeping it.
Best way to cook. I love my ninja air fryer. I feel my food is healthier, less greasy, and more flavorful by using the air fryer. It is also convenient and does not heat up my whole house just to cook a meal absolutely love it makes clean up a breeze.
Great. It’s a nice air fryer. It comes with instructions and the settings you should use for preparing different kinds of food. Very easy to clean. You can buy a silicone accessory for the tray so cleaning is even easier. It’s on it’s second year and still working like the first time.
Very pleased with this. This air fryer has worked well. It’s best if you don’t layer items so sometimes you have to cook in batches. But it cooks things like frozen appetizers, chicken wings, fresh veggies, etc. well. The booklet that comes with it has some good recipes. It seems very sturdy and of high-quality. I have put the basket and the crisper tray through the dishwasher many times without ill effect.
Great quality and size. Really easy to use and to clean. Great for chicken, fries & more. Very happy, wish I bought it sooner!
