Pros and cons (long). This is my review of the “Mr. Pen” fineliner pens, set of 36. The set arrived undamaged and appeared to be all new. None of the pens had leaked or exploded. None of them came apart when I took the cap off. One pen had just a little dried ink on the tip but worked fine.The caps are a little tough to remove – I assume they’ll become looser as I use them. The cap colors are mostly accurate (except for a light brown that turned out to be orange, and a peach hiding out among the purples). I didn’t have the issue so many other folks had, with the caps rolling away – maybe the manufacturer fixed it at the design level? The caps on my set are triangular, like the pens’ barrels, and they have clips, so they stay put.The description says the points are 0.4 mm, just a little thicker than Staedtler’s 0.3 mm, but when I swatch tested them, the line is actually a little thinner. You get a very sharp, fine line with no blobs or smearing. The ‘feel’ is a little dry/scratchy. If you’re looking for a rich, flowing line, this isn’t it, but I’ve been using them today for a very small sketch with fine details, and they’re really growing on me.I feel like I got what I wanted – specifically a good assortment of purple/pink colors (orchid, magenta, etc.) As for the other colors: black/gray/brown were good. The reds and oranges looked dingy to me – there wasn’t anything that looked like a bright, true red. One of the yellows was dried out, so I tossed it. Two of the other yellows were very faint. There are a couple of nice greens, but several are too light/dry. The blues are all nice and usable, including two very pretty lighter blues.These pens might be great for traveling – if you lose one, or forget them in your hotel room, it’s not a big deal, where you might not want to travel with your best pens.If you need an exact color (say, just the right green to finish a drawing) this set wouldn’t be a good choice because it’s such a mixed bag. But if you just want to draw/write with a range of colors, and not spend a lot of money, I think these are fine.

Love the pens, but. I love the pens! They work great for writing in my planner or bible. No bleed through and they do not smear as stated. I was sad that few colors were dried out, but most of the pens were good, so I did not send them back. It did come with a little QR code you could scan for a free gift. So that was sweet. Overall I would buy again. Just check all the pens first.
These are okay. These pens would be great for coloring or sketching. I use them to write and they’re not as smoothe as I like. I thought that they were the fineliner pen and they are not. I love the fineliner Mr.Pen. These work, I love the variety of colors, but I’ll probably get the other fineliner pens from Mr.Pen.
Will not buy again. I’m so frustrated with these pens 🤬, they leak and get ink all over my hands.

Writes nice, good value. I liked the tip of the pens. They write like more expensive fine-tip pens. Good, sharp, dark lines.No skipping. Only issue is they are just too skinny to be really comfortable. They are triangular instead of round, which helps, but I have bigger hands, so they have a flimsy feel to them. Great for situations where you want your nice writing pen, buy don’t really mind losing them. I put them on my desk for customers and coworkers can use them.

I was sad& then happy with these pens. This is the very first time I am dissatisfied with Mr. Pen. I was so excited to get a whole pack of these black pens & started a new 5×7 drawing. I sectioned the page out in fifths & filled in the top fifth. My pen ran out of ink 😫. The other one had no ink. I’m dreading trying the rest, but I will. Later. I’m using a different brand of pen to get the job done.No time to pray the pen will work. I’m disappointed in you, Mr. Pen.Ok. So I set down my drawing & pen for a couple days. I picked it back up today with the same pen that I thought was done. The pen worked!Maybe they just need a break after awhile? Idk. I will by these again.
Poor Quality of Pens. The pens are nice and write well – the ones that worked at least. Right off the bat, 3 of the pens were dried out and did not work. Then, 2 broke. Could be a bad batch. The quality is poor and not worth the money. Very disappointed as I like Mr. Pen and have used their other products that worked very well.

Write well but. These pens write well and are a comparable alternative to Staedler Triplus Fineliners. However, the caps are so difficult to remove that half of them pulled the ink tip out right along with the cap breaking the pen and causing a mess. The tip can be put back in, but the pens just don’t work as well after that. In all, nice writing but poorly designed.
