Not Tech Savvy and These Were a Breeze. After reading reviews I was concerned it may not be so simple, but it was. And once one is setup the app recognizes any new devices immediately and simplifies the process.Simply download the app and follow the prompts. These lights are so fun. You can choose to automate through their app or Alexa. I chose Alexa. I enjoy these so much I purchased the outlets as well. Also a breeze and work seamlessly. However those I have setup in their app and that was also simple. Great products. Can’t say how long they last but so far so good!
Super easy to use. I really do love the ease of use and set up with these smart bulbs. I’ve tried several brands. And they have always been very complicated and extremely hard to connect, but these were. Super easy. I was able to use them in under 10 minutes. I Installed all 4 if I could give them higher than 5 stars. I would I highly recommend you buy this product. You won’t be disappointed.
Perfect. I absolutely love these smart bulbs! They are perfect for what I need and they are integrated everywhere in my house! LOVE ♥
Very cool. These are the first smart bulbs I’ve used and they’re very user friendly and cool. I love all the color options.
Overrall decent lights. I love that this comes with an app where you can adjust the brightness, color hues and the wavelength of the whiteness. Easy to install. The only con about this that it doesn’t sync to music. But it’s a great addition to my bathroom lights. I’d say they’re worth the price.
Easy to add to network & use; good integration with Home Assistant; software missing a feature…. Title says all. Added the bulbs to my Wi-Fi network via the TP Link Kasa app, installed TP Link Kasa integration into Home Assistant and after a few minutes the bulbs were detected no problem. After that you are off to the races! Use Home Assistant to configure the bulbs to power on with automations/timers, or use the Kasa software.. your choice.Been using for a couple of weeks and no major issues thus far. The real bummer is that after a power outage, when the power returns the Kasa light bulbs turn back on… even if the bulbs had been OFF before the power went off. I looked in TP Link forums and other folks have complained about this too. It is a known issue that will probably never be fixed (TP Link doesn’t have the best software update reputation). To work around this I applied a preset of “1% brightness” for the power-on state. That way if power goes out and comes back on, the bulbs are only on at 1% and don’t waste as much electricity.Power outages are rare, so this is a minor annoyance. The software seems to have a setting to account for this, but the setting isn’t fully built out. Not sure why TP Link never finished that option. I guess another workaround could be to hook the lamps with the bulbs up to a UPS, but that seems like overkill for this!Other than that the bulbs work great and the colors are awesome. I wish I could use these bulbs in “fully enclosed luminaries” but I cannot. I didn’t realize that until AFTER purchase. But it seems there is no LED smart bulb that can be used in a fully enclosed luminary. I intended to install these in fully enclosed ceiling lights, but after reading that warning decided to place them in some reading lamps instead.

Another TP-Link smart home device that just works. More and more I’ve been finding myself surprised by TP-Link and their smart-home offerings. This is no different. The lightbulbs are exceptionally easy to get going and to pair. And they don’t flash weird colors prior to setup like every other smart bulb I’ve used.Unlike most other smart bulbs, I just shoved this thing, set it up in my app, and was on my way. This thing was detected by Amazon in my Alexa app almost immediately, and voice control was rather effortless (minus the typical quirks with voice control) for the most part.Colors as well as different white modes were easy to select, very easy to tell apart color-wise, and rather vibrant. Not as vibrant as some other brands, but the ease of use and ability to use with Home Assistant without needing to flash firmware or mess with anything more advanced easily make up for that, in my opinion.Did I mention that it works with Home Assistant? Kind of a huge buying point for me these days. Control seems to be local despite me needing to have an account. As of the time of me writing this review, I currently have these on a VLAN in my network, unable to speak out, and they still work flawlessly.
These work great. Colors are spot-on. Some notes on Alexa. Solid product. The colors are spot on. I especially like the different shades of white through the day if you set them to adjust with the time.Tried other bulbs w Alexa and they either didn’t work at all or had to be reconnected all the time. What a pain!I definitely recommend these as smart bulbs for use with Alexa but…The first several bulbs I purchased, I checked the box at checkout to link them to my Amazon/Alexa and bam! They setup immediately with Alexa. I didn’t have to use the manufacturer’s app. However, I bought another set, checked the same box at checkout, and they did not connect using Alexa. So I downloaded the manufacturer’s app and set one up and it broke the connection with all the previous bulbs and Alexa. I couldn’t even delete the original ones from the Alexa app.So I…-Disabled the skill from the manufacturer’s app within Alexa-Set up all the bulbs using the manufacturer’s app-Deleted the Alexa app from my phone and reinstalled it (don’t worry, everything is still there once you log in)-Re-enabled the skill in the Alexa appAll the lights showed up in the Alexa app again. Everything was good in the Alexa app as far as routines and everything else, except the lights. I had to re-add the lights to the existing routines. So I would suggest setting up the bulbs in the manufacturer’s app FIRST and enable the skill in the Alexa app.I hope this is helpful 🙂
Great bulbs. Easy to setup. App works great. Syncs with Alexa immediately as long as your Alexa software/firmware is up to date. Has tons of color but sometimes Alexa doesn’t understand what color you want, not the bulbs fault though. Will purchase more Kasa TP Link bulbs but next time I will go with higher lumens since you can dim them why not get the higher lumen for more brightness when needed.
Buy these. These are a game changer as they work with my Smart Things at the house which is also compatible with Samsung appliances. This also works with Alexa so I’ve only been turning on/off my lights with my voice. She can also change the colors, but I mostly like the whites and the varied lumens/dimming. She can also adjust that.In the kasa app they have a schedule you can set, so I’ve been playing around with having my lights on at sunset til 10 PM, which seems to work conveniently.Only con was one of the bulbs had a very hard time connecting so I had to swap it and will try again with a different light. So far I have 2:4 up and running. Recommended!
Bright and Versatile. These smart bulbs are fantastic! The color options are endless, and the brightness is perfect for any room. Easy to set up and control with Alexa. Highly recommend for smart home enthusiasts.
Great alternate to Hue. I had two Hue bulbs fail in the last week. They are insanely expensive so I went in this direction. I’m already a TP-Link/Kasa device owner and love them. Sockets, switches, cameras and sensors all work great. These connect easily with the Tapo app. Great range of brightness and color range. Hoping these last a while. The price was excellent and all my other TP/Kasa products are sturdy and reliable. This is a very affordable option if you want LED lights with color options and remote control. Give them a try.
Easy to use smart bulbs. This is my generations clapper lol. The first smartbulbs I ever saw were phillips brand, I couldn’t afford as many phillips smart bulbs as I needed so I settled for regular light bulbs for a while. First black friday post move, I saw Kasa smartbulbs on sale and since they had good reviews I took a chance. I can afford phillips now but I really like the ease and functionality of the kasa bulbs. You do have to download the kasa app to set up the install (you have to connect em to wifi), but the instructions are easy to follow and you install the bulbs like any regular light bulb. They’re energy efficient so they save me money, they change colors so I can set whatever mood I want, they are compatible with Alexa and Google home, and you can always control them off from the app.
