Excellent value for a very versatile and feature packed remote camera. These cameras are excellent! The price paid is minimal compared to the total amount of functionality. They do track objects that trigger them, maybe not as smoothly as higher priced options (I don’t know, have not tried others). For the mobility of relocating the camera by simply picking it up and finding a new location, it’s massively more practical than the full wired systems available. Until you know where you want those more expensive cameras to be permanently installed, these cameras are a great alternative! Also, great for keeping a watch on who’s passing by your place at window-level.Wired cameras have to be mounted high enough to be safe from getting ripped down by trespassers, these see through windows during the day very well. Interior night vision is top notch, seeing outside through windows at night is more difficult. With the sensitivity turned up, every time a tree branch blows it triggers the cameras. This leads to near constant triggering of alerts during the late Spring, Summer and early Fall. And, lots of recordings every day. So, you need to use the App to designate areas to watch for motion, or it’ll drive you nuts and frustrate you. To the point that you may start to ignore the notices. The App provides great control, and allows remote on/off, sensitivity setting changes, you can set to record noise triggers or remove that, set trigger zones, move the camera via the App, and other adjustments.I have noticed that the App actually does offer more functions, and work a little more smoothly, through my phone than my very new tablet. No idea why, it should be the same App for both platforms, no?But, of course watching the playback on the larger screen is so much better, so I do use both. The service plan allows storage of recordings from up to 10 cameras for $10 per month. Much more cost effective than others I looked into. The cons:Can’t see thru glass with the built-in lights, at night. Reflection off the glass blinds the camera. That should have been obvious to me from the start, since these are designed for indoor use only. but I had naively hoped for better night vision performance. So, if looking out a window, get a motion-activated light to trigger so you can see what’s going on out there. Just don’t set it up where it will shine in your bedroom and wake you up.App functionality on phone is higher than on tablet, no idea why. You will want to have the App on at least a phone, if not both.Sometimes, some cameras will trigger, others won’t, for the same event.Deer moving around the house sometimes are ignored by one camera, recorded by another. Also happened that another outdoor camera from another manufacturer recorded a vehicle trespassing, these cameras didn’t. Had to adjust the sensor sensitivity, but I think the baseline software settings should be set to trigger sooner on vehicles.Branches moving on the breeze cause constant notices, even with Person Detection Mode activated.A more elaborate software system might offer better monitoring, but for the pro systems, this requires fully wired systems with dedicated main recording components/control systems . Much more expensive, and I can’t afford to open the walls throughout the property.Overall, these are great! I have bought several models, both the fixed ones and the bigger moving ones. All look great when set to the highest recording resolution, seem to last a long time, and are a breeze to set up or switch from spot to spot.I very much recommend this camera! I also hope the manufacturer can produce a 4K version.
Great quality picture with noise alerts. I got this to keep an eye on my dad’s dog that I was dog sitting bc she’s never spent the night at someone else’s house. I use it sitting up (not mounted with the hardware they provide) and without an SD card so it only has a livestream and no recording.Noise Alerts: I have it turned on to alert me when it hears a “baby crying” bc she whine/screams and it’s worked perfectly. Also one time when I got an exciting text and I squealed hahahaMoving the camera/Views: I use it with the preset views (there are 4) so I can quickly click and it moves itself to center on a different angle of the room in case she’s not in view of the camera at the time. Moving the camera manually in the app isn’t my favorite bc you kinda drag the arrow and if i only want to move a small amount i usually overshoot it. I don’t think this is a huge negative as i mostly use the presets i created.Schedule: I love the schedule option. I have it set around my work hours and then it’s off when I’m home. I can manually turn it on if im out during the evening but it gives me peace of mind that I don’t just have it running while I’m home living my life hahahaConvenience: I also have smart plugs from the same brand and I already knew I liked the app and support offered by the brand but the convenience of having my products on the same app (that works with my google home!!) is great. I like that the brand has several smart products so you can use all of them and manage them easily in the same app.
Effective, but unplug when not in use. I got this a year ago after having noticed some room security issues. The camera is great for security. The audio it picks up is excellent, I’ve never had an issue with it capturing feed or tracking movement, and the app to use it works well! The plan they offer to store videos is low cost and absolutely worth it.Night vision is also clear as heck! I actually saw an orb move across while day light, somehow it switched to night vision? Bottom line it’s really good at its jobWarning: Unplug when not in use!!!while the camera works really well and is better than I expected for such a low price, it is very vulnerable to hackers. Within the first 24 hours mine was accessed. How do I know? Because I turned it off once I was home from work, this turns off the recording light and it will no longer track any movement (it moves when It detects something) and even faced it away from me (gotta be safe). I fell asleep by accident and when I woke up I noticed the camera was facing me. The light was off, it was off on the app, so I was confused and got up to move it back…. the camera turned itself back to me!!! I had to unplug it and almost considered returning it.My advice is to unplug it after you turn it off for your own safety.
For $25 bucks its a great value security cam. We recently hired a new petsitter. First time a stranger is used w/our pets. I wanted to scrutinize her behavior w/pets & time of arrival needed 2x daily. The audio in this isnt that great but frankly the video is pretty decent. I told my bestie about it, shes got 2 cats as well. (I always wanted one really to see just what our younger & freshest was up to.) it definitely was a great value for what i got in video. I opted out of Cloud svs & bought a MicroSD 128GB card. It saw my wifi network easily. I downloaded the KASA app off Google as directed first. Plugged it in, it was super easy (intuitive software). Just buy it, im gonna buy another for the bedroom where our oldest resides. This first one is between dining & living rooms and in its 180 degs sweep, it catches all counters, dining table and very importantly, the 3 main door entrances from outside! I got the black one as it blended in well. I get frequent notifications on my cell ea time it catches a pet or persons move’t. The build is decent, not heavy..kinda toy like but isnt the worst. I like the plug style. I bought an outlet extender too that allows plugs to plug into its sides so no bump up against furniture. You may want one of those too..theyre here on Amazon as well.
feature rich at a bargain price. i have installed dozens of brands of security cameras for over 28 years and i have to say this camera has impressed me most with the picture quality, features and simplicity of the install and setup. from just using it as a basic point and view to using many of the included advanced features such as the patrol mode, motion tracking, custom pan and scan actions to monitor large areas, and much more. being able to record directly to an sd card if you dont want to pay for cloud storage was the thing that sold me. the power cord is fairly long so you can mount it almost anywhere. for the bargain price of $22.00 usd you would be hard pressed to find another camera that comes close to what this camera can do. i am very happy with this purchase and getting a few more.side note: i would not recommend buying a ‘used one’ from here. i tried with 2 of them which had to be sent back because even though they where listed as working they where not and i doubt even tested besides plugging it in and seeing a led turn on and say ‘it works’. why do i say this… the 1st one had a bad reset button so they could not have tested it besides seeing it had power. the 2nd one had the wrong power supply. if i had even plugged it in with the one they sent it would have fried it.
Works awesome as a baby monitor. We are using this as a baby monitor, because I like the security features — it requires access to the app to view the camera feed, and if someone tries to log in I get a notification to my phone, and it has the 2 step verification so it’s not easy to hack into. It works extremely well for this purpose, and is very easy to set up and use. The motion detection and noise/sound detection works very well, if baby wakes up and is moving around or crying I get a notification within seconds. The video quality is clear and I love that it basically has “night vision” so even in a dark nursery I can clearly see everything. Being able to control the camera view and adjust the angle via app is an amazing feature so I don’t have to tiptoe in, move it manually and risk waking baby. I also love that it records 24/7 so in the morning I can watch and see how well baby slept (or didn’t sleep!)Overall, I absolutely love this camera and will be purchasing 2 more to keep an eye on the dog while I’m out of the house. I absolutely recommend it and for the price point, I’m amazed at the quality and features offered. This is exactly what I wanted and needed. Thanks again Kasa!
Great Smart Security Camera for the Price. The Kasa Indoor Pan/Tilt Camera offers clear 1080p video and reliable motion detection, making it perfect for monitoring pets or home security. The pan/tilt feature covers a wide area, and the night vision works well. Setup is easy, and it integrates smoothly with Alexa. The camera uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which may be a drawback for some, but overall it’s an excellent value for its features.
Works great, good quality. Really enjoying this camera so far. Purchased to keep an eye on my sulcata tortoise who has gotten too big to live inside. The quality of the camera is much better than our old one and I really enjoy that it’s adjustable so you can easily adjust the angle if needed. Installation was easy and app download was quick. Overall great price!
Nice, inexpensive high resolution camera -Update – fatal flaw with usefulness -no snapshots. Update again. Everything changed when I put an SD card in. I can now see the triggered clips directly recorded on the SD card in the Kasa app without removing the card. You must enable 24 hr recording for this to work. While they still don’t send you a snapshot of the triggered event there is a screen grab function that you can take while viewing a clip. So this camera is now very useful. And you don’t have to subscribe to Kasa Care to use this. Sorry about the incorrect review but they didn’t mention this in their documentation. Would still like to see this app working on a Windows PC but right now is just Apple IOS and Android supported.Update: While the picture quality is very good and can live stream well, unfortunately, this camera never sends me a picture of event that triggered my camera. When I get the notification on my phone whoever or whatever triggered the incident is long gone with no proof of the event.*** Update: This is wrong but you must put an SD card in***Now, you can put an SD card in (not supplied) the camera but to view the videos recorded but you have to pull the SD card out and view it on another device.*** Update: this is also incorrect*** Sorry. This only works if you have 24 hour surveillance set in he app. Also, you can pay for Kasa Care, their online cloud service and that costs $3 / month. Why this camera can’t just send you a snapshot of whatever triggered it, I don’t know. This camera was so inexpensive with excellent video quality, so I’m keeping it, but this is a fatal flaw in the usefulness of this camera. This could easily be fixed with a software update.I have those Kasa remote on/off light units (times 3) so I thought I’d add a Kasa camera to the mix. I went for the higher resolution camera which they refer to as QHD. It was worth the extra $10. The Kasa app works but they don’t have a PC version (Windows or Mac). So I only have the app on Android and Apple phones / tablets. I will get a micro SD card to record. Apparently, there’s a 256 gig maximum storage limit. I also like the fact that you can turn off the light that shows the unit is on. Although if you have tracking switched on the movement of the lens (and the whirring noise that makes) is a dead giveaway.
Nice, inexpensive high resolution camera -Update – fatal flaw with usefulness -no snapshots – Update. I found a way to view the Kasa camera on Windows (sort of). I downloaded an Android image (BlueStacks 5, free) that runs Virtually on Windows 11. The only think I had to do was go into my BIOS and turn on virtualization. What shocked me is that I could go to the Google Play Store and download many of my serious apps like Kasa and Yolink (water detection devices) and they both work well. Amazingly I have both those icons on my Windows Desktop and If I just click on one of those it automatically loads Bluestacks and runs it that way. Users mostly just get games from the Play Store but kind of shocked that it works the way on apps. My win 11 PC is a 6 core Ryzen, MSI Tomahawk MB with Nvidia 1080 GPU and 32 Gig of system ram.Update again. Everything changed when I put an SD card in. I can now see the triggered clips directly recorded on the SD card in the Kasa app without removing the card. You must enable 24 hr recording for this to work. Fantastic value. My husband and I adopted two kittens (almost 3 months old) about 3 weeks ago and have them in their own room overnight and during large chunks of the day. We casually mentioned it’d be cool to put a camera in the room so we could see what they are up to, but then one night I heard them seriously rough housing. I wanted to check on them, but didn’t want to go in the room (the little boy is incredibly vocal and going in there would have prompted a 30 minute bout of meowing to get out of the room), so on a whim I ordered this camera. It arrived quickly, setup was a breeze, and I’m astounded with the quality and functionality. My husband and I both have the app on our phone, monitor them on and off while they are in there, and it helps us prepare for any messes. The night vision is amazing, I was really impressed with how well we can see in there during the night. At first I was ready to turn off the motion detection notification, but realized it’s actually really helpful during the night, as the time stamp of the push notification(s) helps me know if they have been up for a whileWe ordered two more cameras to put in other spots in the house to help us monitor kitties without needing to get up every few minutes

Such a cute and useful camera. This is a really cute and useful camera. The app is easy to use, the installation process is a breeze, and the video quality is better than expected, especially in the night mode. One of my favorite features is motion detection; it sends me a notification anytime it detects someone, and the camera follows the subject. I had doubts when purchasing this camera because I thought I would have to pay for a subscription to watch my apartment live, but the subscription is entirely optional; you only need it to save videos to the cloud. Otherwise, an SD card works just as well. I’m really happy with this purchase!
Surprisingly impressive. I was skeptical for the price, but it’s well worth the money. Works well regardless of whether I’m at home or at work taking a look around. Easy to set up and picture quality is good. I will buy more.
Great for price. Guys the quality of the image for this camera in 4K is amazing. It gives great image, moves fast and the set up is quick.I did give two stars because: If you talk to the camera via the app, the sound comes out really low and cracked. It sounds bad. I meant to use this feature with my dog when I’m away and it has not worked because she gets scared when it sounds. The second downside is that you can only have the camera in one phone. We tried connecting to my wife’s phone as well and the app won’t let us. So that’s another downside. For the rest, sturdy, great video quality and easy to set up.
Skeptically Surprised. I was skeptical about these cameras. I had Blink in the past and loved how they operated remotely through the app, but Blink was slow in reporting movement and if something moved past the sensor too quickly, the cameras wouldn’t capture it. These Kasa cameras work perfectly! Not only do they capture great video quality, having the freedom to pan and tilt makes the cameras exceptional! The built-in speaker and microphone are an added bonus, plus the geofence feature in the app allows my family the privacy they want, without sacrificing the security of the home. I wish I could use cloud-based storage without SD cards, but the camera itself is definitely worth the buy!
Great purchase and quality! Easy setup. I bought this to see what my pet does all day. Which is not much. Haha. I also like being able to just pop in at my house if I’m away or just to see what is going on. The quality is amazing! I got the 2k camera. It was easy to set up and connect to our router. I love being able to remote pan and tilt it. The viewing area is pretty large but in the app, you can zoom in (but if you go too far, it seems to create a glitch and blacks out, spins, and then brings you to your phone window). So just don’t over zoom in. I sometimes takes screenshots but the app lets you press a picture mode. It’s also great because you can turn on a mic and talk through the phone app to the camera. I called my dog’s name to test and she was definitely confused. Lol. Depending on connectivity however, smoothness of video and quality of mic can be delayed or break up. Not a big deal for me. You can also set the image quality to 3 different levels with the 2k. I usually go with the middle one hoping it allows less lag and possibly smoother quality.I also like that I don’t need a subscription. I just check in when I want in the free downloadable app, but I also like there’s an option to buy an SD card if you want to store any imaging. I might buy an SD card to see how much it can hold.I also found out my colleague has this same camera after showing off my cool camera and what my pet was doing! We both love this camera!
Thanks for saving my house. Bought to replace the camera I previously used to watch my dogs when I’m not home. This has been working great since I bought it. I have a husky that likes to tear into things and does not do well in a crate. Since getting the camera, the destruction of the house has decreased significantly. Easy to use and was a very quick set up. Covers the entirety of my living room with the exception of a blind spot due to placement of the camera (I have a second camera for that). Tracking and motion detection works well. Two way audio does wonders for when I catch her doing things she shouldn’t be doing and she goes right back to her spot at the top of the stairs when she hears me talking to her. For how inexpensive it was, totally worth the $$ for the video quality and the fact that my house and personal items are remaining in one piece
