A MUST HAVE for blondes. Bought this as need it to neutralize the ashy color in my blonde hair. You do NOT need a lot of product.Use for the amount told or trial and error.PLEASE consult your hair stylist if you should be using a violet/ purple shampoo with your hair tone type. NOT ALL BLONDES need to be using this.I love this and it works great on my hair. For myself i shampoo my hair with my regular shampoo FIRST that way i dont use more than needed of the purple/violet shampoo. Then I shampoo with this purple / violet shampoo and for myself and my tone of blonde I leave on ,y hair for 5 minutes then I rinse and condition. This CAN and will stain hairline, ears and hands and nails so make sure to rinse and wash off good but you may still have stains on your hands and nails just to warn. Will re purchase as love this brand.Product image and description are correct
1st use. 1st wash with this product.. I’m really only trying to fix the top half of my hair because when I got it done, the lower part was already light and it lightened even quicker than the top so the top was a little too brassy for my liking. I don’t see a big difference but at the same time I do see a difference at the front of my hair. There are streaks of blonde popping out that weren’t there before. Maybe one or two more uses and it will be good. Didn’t think I’d see that much of a difference the first wash, but I was wrong! Lol first pic is right before and other two pics are right after blow drying. Of course the texture of the hair may alter the look of the colors a bit.
Very powerful, highly pigmented – wear gloves when handling/shampooing. This is not a bad product – it takes away brassiness – but it also adds a lot of ash tones quickly-VERY quickly. I would not leave this on your hair anymore than for a minute or two the first time – until you find the effect that it’s going to give you. IT WILL stain your fingernails and hands if you do not wear gloves. I mistakenly did not wear gloves the first time and my hands and nails were very stained. I had to cut my nails off – because I could not get the staining washed out. Having said this – the whole reason for purchasing a product like this is to remove reds/brassiness from hair to get more of an ash blonde tone – it definitely does that. I was just going for more of a bright white vs. grey tone. Overall It’s a good product – It really depends on what you’re going for.
My hairdresser recommended this product. This shampoo is amazing. It gave my very fine white hair a blast of manageability and just a hint of color. I get compliments all the time but the best part is it’s not expensive and can be purchased at any drugstore. I love it!
Very drying. It did brighten my hair – blonde over white. But I don’t think I could use it very often since it’s so drying. A bit too perfum-y for my taste as well. I consider this an occasional use product and was looking for something to use on a weekly basis. Won’t repurchase.
This stuff works good. I love the fact that this shampoo and conditioner actually makes my gray hair look brighter and healthier than that I normally use. I’m planning on ordering more soon.
Phenomenal – but with a caveat. Before the review, for your reference regarding my hair type, I am a 58-year-old white female with baby fine dry thinning dark brown and gray/silver hair, with a kink that used to be curls but is now just fuzz. I have what I consider to be terrible hair, and I have to go to pains to fix it, whether I am wearing it straight or curly. I try not to shampoo it every day because that just makes things worse over time. My second day after shampooing hairstyle is almost always some form of pull it back: tie it up in a band, or get it into a bun, clip, stick or scrunchie. Too often, that ends up being my first day hairstyle as well!I’ve tried just about every purple shampoo out there, and I’ve used them for both my now natural gray/silver hair, and white hot blonde (by way of bleaching) hair. This includes the gold standard Clairol shimmer lights. My hair is fully virgin right now, as I grew out the last highlight job, which turned out terrible as the new girl made a mistake and had to process it twice in one day. Ravaged! It’s been two years, but my hair is completely natural at this point and is half dark brown, half gray silver. I miss my blonde highlights, though, and I plan on getting them done next week with the more experienced stylist in the shop, who knows the formula to get my hair white hot blonde in one step. That being said, I had to go on the hunt for a purple shampoo. I purchased this stuff last week, and after using it, I was so happy with it, I purchased another one this week to hold for storage. I’ve used it about three times now.I can honestly say that this is the best purple shampoo I’ve ever used. That’s not terribly surprising considering it’s John Frieda, which is one of the only brands out there that can tame my fine, frizzy hair, without making it totally limp afterwards. I use the serum, especially on days when I want to flatten my hair with an iron. I also use the curl revival mousse, and my absolute favorite product in Frieda’s frizz control line is their moisture barrier hairspray. That stuff is excellent. Just a little extra info if you have the same hair issues as I do.It has the most potent of purple pigments. And yes, it does have a blue cast to it, but that makes perfect sense to me. Most of the time you are trying to fight yellow and orange in your hair when you use one of these products. Just go to your color wheel. The complement of orange is blue, and the complement of yellow Is purple. You definitely want a mix of both to get the best results. If the product is too purple, it can add red to your hair. That’s a huge mistake in this particular battle. And if the product is too blue, it can turn your hair blue. So a “violet” mix is perfect, meaning the product will have a bluish-purple color to it.The color is also extremely potent so it’s going to do its job. My hair is baby fine and dry, so this actually acts as a toner for me and I don’t have to go that extra step when I’ve color treated it to get white hot blonde hair. That’s good news, because toners are awful to deal with. However, what really sets this one apart from all the other purple shampoos is the shampoo itself. It smells great, the consistency is great, and most importantly when you’re applying it to your hair and sudsing it up, it is creamy and you can feel the moisturizing. Every purple shampoo I’ve used besides this one has been a horrible shampoo, and the only reason I was using it was for the toning. This time I found one that is actually a fantastic shampoo! The caveat is the shipping. I’ve done my research and Amazon almost always has the better price on this product when you buy the larger bottle, which is the 16 fluid ounce size. However it never ships well. I have not had one that has completely leaked out all over the inside of the box, as in major amounts of the contents. But each time I’ve purchased it, the bottle is closed, the pump is still down in the position of being closed, but the product has leaked out of the neck of the bottle and it covers that area and leaks down the side of the bottle a bit. If I had to tell you how much I’d say between 1/2 and 3/4 teaspoon. So it’s not a lot… however, I would recommend that you do not purchase this with anything else. That’s not a problem if you have prime as you’ll get the shipping for free. If you don’t have prime, then the price point doesn’t make sense anymore because you’ll be charged shipping. But if you have prime, purchase it all by itself, and when you get to the shipping options, do not opt for it to be added into any other recent package (if you have one) so you should also pick a day where you are not receiving any other package. That should keep it in the box by itself. If it leaks out more than just a little bit, get back online and return it as a damaged product.Other than that, like I said, it’s the best purple shampoo I’ve ever used.

Best Purple Hair Shampoo & Conditioner for Blondes. I have blonde hair and recently I’ve added about 2 inches of purple hair dye to the bottom of my hair and it has DESTROYED my hair! I use John Frieda purple shampoo and conditioner and it not only keeps my blonde hair fresh, soft, and shiny but it surprisingly not only makes my hair healthy but allows the purple hair dye that’s in my hair healthy as well (even though this product is only intended for blonde hair and not other hair colors). This product is so amazing and I would always recommend this product and nothing else for people with blonde hair. It truly replenishes any damaged hair and keeps the hair strong and healthy to grow out well. I would use no other products than these.
Perfect for maintaining blonde hair. This product is perfect. It is very easy and doesn’t have any bad fragrance. Leaves your hair greasy but really helps keep hair super moisturized. It really helps me maintain my blonde hair as a natural blonde and keeps my hair healthy and soft.
Works Great. Works Great!
Does the job. I love John Frieda products. I am getting really gray and my stylist was helping it along so I didn’t look like a skunk. I used this and the shampoo and it really helps the gray shine through. I had to get this for Blonde because they don’t have one for Gray hair, but it still works. I’m happy with it and also the smell is quite nice.
Many compliments on hair color. Great shampoo and conditioner. I love the purple highlights.
Great conditioner. This conditioner smells great, leaves my hair moisturized and soft. It does a great job for the price.
Blondes. This shampoo is awesome. I use it every time I wash my hair. Keeps the color of my hair stay longer between colorings . If that makes senseSometimes I mix with the red shampoo from Frieda as well. My hair is soft after use and seems hydrating. Gives my hair body and thickness. Easy to use of course. How hard can it be, it’s shampoo.💚💯
