This is the ideal travel computer for me. Super lightweight. The matte screen is ideal for viewing in bright light. In spite of the haters, this device is quick enough for complex PowerPoint with embedded video. The microSD slot is a real plus. I’ve added 128 Gbytes and can store everything I need. Full size HDMI port works great for presentations; too many tiny computers require an adapter. It’s true I’ve only had it for a day but this is a dandy solution for travel and I’m a Mac guy. I already had a bluetooth mouse and I recommend such for efficiency; I don’t like touchpads.I hope everyone noticed that a lot of the negative reviews came from people who failed to note the size before buying and they give a 1 star review. By the way, I bought mine from Amazon and got it the same day I ordered it.

  2. Decent Functional Laptop. I’ve had several technology fails this year, including my gaming laptop and my Linux laptop breaking down. My budget is not what it was when I bought the gaming laptop, and the other one was a hand-me-down from a relative. So, I needed a cheap laptop to do basic typing and web browsing on until I can afford something to game on. Finding a non-Chromebook under $300 is tough these days, so I took a chance on this model. This laptop is good for very basic functionality. It’s small, lightweight, and runs quickly enough (granted you buy a separate hard drive and don’t overload its very small memory). I have the feeling that it would run better with an older OS: Windows 11 is not only awful on its own, it’s terribly bloated for a small-memory machine like this one. I won’t go into all the reasons why I hate W11 here, that would be a whole other review. I would recommend installing another OS on it if you have the know-how to do so. I may eventually install a Linux OS on it if performance ever decreases. So far, it’s quick enough for me. Don’t expect lightning-fast loading, though. Another tip: look up ways to unload extra programs to free up space and don’t have any programs run on start/continuously in the background if you can help it (OneDrive really bogs the system down). The screen quality is middling but it displays videos crisply enough. I wish it would dim a little more, since I often type in low-lighting. This leads me to my biggest complaint: NO KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT. I suspected it wouldn’t have one since it wasn’t mentioned in the product description, but since it’s such an important feature, I’m mentioning it in all-caps here. I use a low-wattage lamp to type by and I can see the keys (the white keyboard helps with this), not to mention I can type without looking at the keyboard often, but be warned about this! I know a keyboard backlight is a must-have for anyone that may need to type in extremely low/no-lighting situations.I’ll also mention that this is not a touchscreen laptop. I never use touchscreen laptops, but I know some buyers may expect this feature. The touchpad mouse has no buttons and can be a bit wonky; I highly recommend buying a separate mouse.I tried to run Steam and some games on this machine out of curiosity. Don’t do that. Even pixel art games with low-demand graphics will skip, sometimes freeze, and put too much demand on the system. I haven’t tried streaming video from this machine to my TV yet. This is not a media or gaming laptop, though. You can stream any service on its native screen (YouTube, etc) easily, play music streaming or old school mp3s (you’ll need a separate drive for CDs/DVDs), but I wouldn’t push it beyond that.In conclusion, it’s what I expected for the price. I wish it had an older version of Windows and a keyboard backlight, but neither is necessary for my needs. I use it for listening to music while typing and sometimes streaming YouTube, it works fine for those things. I’ve un-bloated the system as much as possible and done some tweaks to get it to run as fast as it can, but not every buyer may know how to do this and especially running OneDrive all the time can bog the system down considerably. It definitely needs a separate flash or hard drive to extend its memory. I will update this review in the future if any issues arise.

  4. Disposable. UPDATE: November 8, 2023It lasted just over a year. So if you don’t mind a disposable cheap ultra-basic laptop you have to replace every 12 months, go for it! It’s in my trash basket as I write this, however. Treated it perfectly, no spills, no falls, no damage whatsoever. Never overused its low-end hardware, either. Fails to even boot up now. Got some work done on it, true, but it will die on you in a year or less.———I’ve had several technology fails this year, including my gaming laptop and my Linux laptop breaking down. 8. It is a very nice computer for the price I paid. This device is a quality laptop for the price I paid. The battery life is great my twins are constantly watching something or playing games on it, and they rarely have to plug it while using it. It is easy to travel with , and the screen quality is great. It is a very nice laptop for what I paid for it. We do not use it for much more than game play and streaming at the moment, although I feel confident it would be able to handle remote learning and such.

  10. Great lightweight work laptop. This isn’t a gaming machine, and anyone who’s expecting that at this price point is obviously going to be disappointed, but that’s your own mistake.I wanted a lightweigt laptop for work, since I have to travel a lot and my usual laptop is huge. This fits the bill perfectly. It runs windows 11 very smoothly, I have been able to install the basic software I use for work, it doesn’t lag, and I inserted an extra 64GB micro SD card without any problems. It also streams and plays movies without lags. And at this price point? I’m very satisfied!

2nd Time Around. Like the size, design and color of this computer. I had to reorder this item because the 1st one shipped would not connect to my internet. The reordered item came immediately, like the very next day and worked as expected. No issues or complaints from the person whom I gifted the laptop .

affordable. affordable, works well and didn’t break the bank to get it.

It’s small and very portable. Once you switch out of s mode it’s great. You need to take it off s mode though. It’s very easy to do in settings. Don’t let anyone deter you from buying this laptop because of s mode. You can literally change out of s mode in less then a minute and download Google Chrome and whatever else your heart desires!

  14. Great. Great machine. It was a great gift.

  15. Great Multi-tasker (32GB RAM; 64GB Storage); Short-lived. This PC is a great multi-tasker (32 GB RAM; 64 GB Storage). It is fast. I could have 12-20 windows, Zoom, and multiple PowerPoints/videos open without delays or trouble. Long battery life, too. However, it only lived 9 + 1/2 months before a BIOS error message popped up one morning just before I planned to give a presentation to my students. Having read the reviews, I expected it to last perhaps a year.I need a quick replacement for work, etc., so, reordering the same while we try to repair the first. For myself, as a multi-tasker, it is IDEAL (while it lasts).

  16. It’s pure Microsoft. Easy switch from s mode, allowing you to add apps from anywhere. S is safety focused, limiting you to select trusted apps. It’s adequately fast to stream. Simple gaming and entertainment are its primary use. It has wifi and Bluetooth. Windows 11 operating system, not super fast, but it beats my phone.

  17. Okay, not perfect. I’m cautiously optimistic about this review. I don’t know if the device will black screen or not. Right now it’s okay but not perfect. The slow processor speed is a bit disappointing. Thankfully Windows 11 is stable.

  18. Got for 9yo for school. I got this 8gb solely for a 9yo boy’s schoolwork. It has more than enough RAM for that purpose only and he is having a blast learning to use his own computer. I would not get it for anything more memory-intensive than word processing, email, and light web browsing, but it works for his school stuff.

  19. Great for collge. I got this for college. The charging cable was faulty, so I contacted the seller and they helped me get a new cable. The laptop works nicely, is lightweight, the battery life is enough to get me through class and study time at the library.

  20. Great laptop. I purchased this laptop to manage my online business and it is perfect! I Love the S Mode on windows 11I don’t need any apps other than from the Microsoft App Store. If you want to leave “S” mode it is easy to do. The computer runs smooth and is fast as I need loading listing pages. I added a TB Micro SD Card for extra storage, the computer has 64gb internal and the operating system uses half of that so I just put everything on my SD card and no problems. Love the laptop I needed a small machine for my desk this is perfect!

If you want to leave “S” mode it is easy to do. The computer runs smooth and is fast as I need loading listing pages. I added a TB Micro SD Card for extra storage, the computer has 64gb internal and the operating system uses half of that so I just put everything on my SD card and no problems. 23. Works fine now, but had to return first on. My husband wanted this The first one stopped working and had to return it and get a replacement. New one working fine.

  24. Perfect little laptop. This laptop had a lot of bad reviews, so I decided that it deserved a very good one. I was looking for a laptop that is stylish, yet functional. And this one fit the bill. I was hesitant because of all the bad reviews, but I am so happy that I decided to go for this one. I love this thing. It is so perfect. I wanted a MacBook, but they’re so expensive for what I need it for. So, I opted to go for a pc in the $200 range and it was between this one, and a 2 in 1 gateway. Well, I couldn’t get over how much I liked the looks of this one, so despite all of the bad reviews I read, I chose the HP Stream 11, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but…. I think I even like this one more than I would a MacBook… Wow. I said it. Obviously, this pc isn’t going to beat the MacBook’s speed or storage, but for browsing and basic usage, this is perfect! The battery life is incredible. It is very light weight and I’m in love with the size. Not too big, or too small. It’s smaller than your average laptop and it is super cute. It was really really slow when I first got it due to all of the updates that it needed, but after all of that, it’s great! I wouldn’t recommend it for storing a bunch of photos/videos/files on because of its low storage, so if that’s what you need it for then I would definitely recommend using an SD card and configure the pc to store all new content to the card rather than the hard disk space. Lastly, the color of the laptop is diamond white, and I’ll be honest, I did not like the idea of having a white laptop because I thought it would get dirty quickly, but I’ve had it for over a week now and I’ve been handling it ALOT and it has not gotten the slightest bit dirty, nor can you see any fingerprints on the white. All in all, this laptop is amazing for an average person and basic usage. Don’t let the bad reviews sway you away from it. I would have given it 5 stars, but it does not have a backlit keyboard or a touchscreen, and for me, that is the only thing that it lacks other than more RAM and storage obviously. Great product, great price! Thank you HP! 🙂

  28. Lovey pink laptop but won’t keep time. I love the ease of using this laptop, and it is lightweight. However, it does not keep the correct time. My husband works in IT and has tried everything to correct it. However, whenever there is an update, the time and date stop working again. Otherwise, it works fine for the basics that I need.

  29. excellent computer! Easy to use. Very easy to use and versatile for all ages!

  30. Model. Doesn’t work with my printer.

  31. Very nice for the price. I have used it for almost a year now and love it. Small but all I need.

  34. Defective Laptoo. My laptop arrived without visible damage, but I experienced much difficulty powering it up. Also, downloading software took over 8 hours and was never completed. When I unplugged the Laptop from AC, it immediately shut down. I am returning this item as obviously defective.

  35. Love it. I’m really surprised on how good this actually is, it fast, lightweight, it doesn’t overheat and for the price the storage it great.
