  1. Dog loves, but doesn’t last. The packaging was good, the product looked great, and there wasn’t any kind of noticable odor. My dog absolutely loved it as far as I could tell. However, I’ve gotten other brands before, and they have lasted days at least, if not over a week or more. This brand was gone in about 30 minutes. I’m not sure exactly why it is able to be eaten so quickly, but definitely not worth the price per item if it is only going to last that long. If it could last even two or three days I’d probably bump it up to 5 stars.

  2. Lasts for tough chewing dogs. We bought these to try and find something our dog wouldn’t chew immediately. She destroys most bones within 30 minutes but these last days! There is no smell to them when she chewed them and they didn’t mess with her stomach/ bathroom schedule at all. Some bones would make her go to the bathroom for frequently. We also wanted to make sure to give her rawhide free options and these are great!

My dogs love them. These are great for serious chewers. My pups will demolish anything that’s not hard as granite. They are super intense chewers and they love these. They maybe last 2, maybe 3 days for them, but I feel good knowing they are totally natural and dog safe. No mess left to clean up.

  4. This makes a dogs day. Unfortunately I don’t have a dog of my own, but I treat my neighbor’s 2 dogs everyday for being such good watch-dogs. As I walk out…they treat me like a rock-star and I give them a cheese stick and that makes their day. They like all flavors (but what dog doesn’t?) and I buy them the bacon, peanut, and cheese flavors.

My dog loved them, but quickly chewed it up. I gave my 1.5 year old terrier/hound/pit bull mix one of the chews this morning and he absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, he completely consumed the entire thing in one morning. He’s a strong chewer but I didn’t expect him to chew up the entire thing in a matter of a few hours. However, spending the morning chewing on the yak cheese did seem to help him relax. Yesterday, a crew started replacing the siding on my house, he spent the morning barking, panting and pacing. This morning he was content to sit on his rug and chew on the yak cheese. I’m glad it helped him cope with the pounding, but I can’t afford to give him one every day for the next three weeks (nor do I think it would help him maintain an appropriate weight).

  6. Dogs of all ages will fight over it. TL;DR: My dogs are nuts for them, seems pretty safe, they last forever.I have an adult lab, a puppy, and an adult great dane. I get size L for all three, as these are larger dogs. They scheme and steal these things from one another. They sleep with them, fight over them, and adore them. They last forever and the dogs get absolutely obsessed with it. I noticed my dogs are more mentally stimulated and have less dental plaque from chewing. (in particular, my lab refuses to let anyone touch his mouth, so this helps with him). This is also an awesome product for a teething puppy. As long as you keep a reasonable eye on how far down they’ve gnawed it, I think (if you buy the appropriate size for your dog) these are pretty safe. The ingredients are very simple, which I love, and I have and will keep buying these things.I know they are more pricey than your average treat but its worth the money.

  7. Worth every penny! Long lasting ‘Yak Cheese’ dog chews. Our dog absolutely adores these ‘Himalayan Dog’ Chew Yak Cheese chews and they are worth every penny. He’s a goldendoodle and has been a bit of a super-chewer since his adult teeth came in last winter. We noticed how quickly he was going through No-Hide chews & bully sticks and wanted to find a more economical and longer-lasting alternative that would be safe* (*DO always supervise your pet with treats & chew toys like these) and gentle on his belly. Out of the package, these ‘chews’ are rock hard (they’re meant to be)—they feel like a hard sugar candy and have a light ‘cheesy’ smell that will likely appeal to your pup. (It’s not overwhelming.) Your dog will gradually chip small pieces off and be able to crunch them up, but they shouldn’t be able to crack the whole thing in half. But like a hard candy, it will shatter into smaller pieces if hit with enough force. You can actually microwave pieces of Yak Chew and in about 30-60 seconds it will PUFF into a cheese puff that your dog can crunch up as a snack! (*It will be hot. Let cool fully before giving to your pup!) This is a great way to use up the end of the chew when it gets too small & becomes a choking hazard. Microwaving a Yak Chew releases all its cheesy aromas during the puff process—fair warning, your dog will be VERY interested in the smell. These have been a winner in our house and usually last for a couple weeks before the dog whittles them down. Once it’s small enough (or if a large piece breaks off), we pop it into the microwave and our little buddy gets a cheese puff treat. Win-win!

  11. Keeps an active puppy busy. These chews were a lifesaver. We have a 9 month old active and bright Dalmatian puppy who was chewing on things he shouldn’t. We discovered these were useful when he was around 5 months old and started buying these bulk packs. They are rock hard, and it keeps him busy with something to chew while I’m working. He seems to love the taste and challenge of gnawing it down. The down side is they are a bit pricey and he can finish one in less than 5 days. Also have to be very careful because as it shrinks down to a smaller nub, it becomes a choking hazard and needs to be taken away. So it’s important to make sure they use these safely and are always monitored. I would not recommend giving one to a dog if you’re leaving the house or they are in another room unsupervised.

  12. Highly recommend. Can not say enough good things about these. My Boykin is an extremely heavy chewer. He absolutely loves these and they take him a while to chew. They will break Into smaller pieces if he drops it but once the pieces get too small, I toss them in the microwave and they’ll turn into a “puff” that I let him eat so he doesn’t swallow the small piece whole

  13. Dog loves them. Just got them and my dog loves them. At first he didn’t want anything to do with it but bury it in his toy pile. After an hour he is enjoying it now. Last a long time.

  14. Dogs love them. The media could not be loaded. Our dogs love these chews. The chews last a long time, and they help keep the dog’s teeth clean. But they do break if dropped on the tile floor.

  16. Durable chew. I ordered this as a two pack for my Miniature Schnauzer. It’s not too big for her to chew and she loves it!! She’s an aggressive chewer and has been working on one all day. Great product!!

  17. Long-lasting chew. Really! No kidding. I am a repeat customer. Here’s why: I had purchased numerous chews claiming to be “long-lasting” for my 45-pound goldendoodle. I realize “long-lasting” is a relative descriptor, but if it lasts less than 30 minutes I don’t view it as “long.” I did not want a chew including rawhide which made my search a bit more difficult. Then I discovered this product. All natural and it survives the vigorous chewing of my dog for several days! Days! Often more than a week! It appears to be easily digested; she never experiences any negative GI effects. The only downside is the need to vacuum the itsy-bitsy pieces she discards during her buzzsaw chewing sessions. But, that’s so nit picky as to be irrelevant.

  18. My puppies love these. Both of my puppies absolutely love the Yak Cheese treats! These chews are a perfect special treat that keeps them engaged for a while. They’re durable, long-lasting and I love that they’re made with natural ingredients. The texture is great, and it’s a nice alternative to other chews. I feel good about giving them these, knowing they’re safe and healthy. Highly recommend these for any dog owner looking for a delicious, satisfying treat for their pups!

  19. hard dog chews. Our dog loves these chews. The last order on November 22nd most of the chews broke apart way too easycompared to others we have ordered. Also trying to soften per your instruction they do not soften like we think they will. Not expecting them to fall apart or as soft as a marsh mellow. This number stamped on package may help you LOO25849, T10::02.

Great for my chewer. My pug is a MAJOR chewer. I wasn’t feeling great about all the vinyl in bark boxes, or antlers being SO impossibly tough. He will devour bully sticks in a matter of an hour, and he gnaws like crazy. I was looking for something that would ultimately satiate his chewing without being plastic, or so hard it would break his little teeth. These are PERFECT. He’s a 20 lb pug and one of these lasts a good 2-3 weeks. Highly recommend!

  22. Tasty and fun. The dogs favorite long lasting cheesy bone. If you can get the end of it away from the dog you can soak it in water and place in microwave to turn it into a cheesy puff! Dogs also love this. Good treat for heavy chewers.

  23. Allissa Specht March 9, 2025 at 12:00 am

Healthy and dogs love them. I’m always looking for healthy enrichment for my dogs and foster pups. The dogs love the taste, they’re heavy, nutritious and last! The health and safety is always top priority and these are worth the money! They’re also a good size for large dogs!

  24. Hard chews. These are the hard yak chews, suitable for aggressive chewers, which tend to be very expensive. I get them when they go on sale and they last my aggressive chewing pugs for weeks. I would just recommend removing the chew once it gets down to swallowing size, just in case. I’ve seen my pugs still try to work the chew when it’s small enough to fit the whole thing in their mouths. I worry they might swallow it, so I take it from them at that point.

  25. Dog loves them. Actually never met a dog that didn’t like these. I mean of course not, ITS CHEESE!And they do last a fair bit depending on how aggressive a chewer yours is, but overall… kinda worth it. I say kinda because IMO the price is too much, that’s why I took a star off.I bought these to try but Yak cheese is inexplicably so expensive in general. Why? I’ve been to Nepal where most of this stuff is made. It’s not a luxury item there. It’s dirt cheap. In this dry form it shelf stable, there isn’t refrigeration cost or anything. So in my opinion they are gouging the Western markets. Good product but overpriced.
