A better quality kibble than most. I recently adopted a 4 yr old TerriPoo who has skin issues. She has dry skin, on top of seasonal allergies. When I brought her home from the rescue, the poor thing had red, inflamed skin that she was constantly gnawing on. Her coat was thin & she had small bald patches allover her backside & tummy. The rescue group I adopted her from had only had her for less than a week. They told me about the skin issues, but as a she was a stray, they didn’t know her history. They had just started her on this kibble & gave me the bag.What surprised me was that my new little doggo absolutely loved it. She literally ate everything she was given & asked for more. I mention this because I have had several dogs (plus a cat) who vets had recommended/prescribed various Science Diet recipes who wouldn’t touch the stuff. My last dog, a Yorkshire Terrier with congenital kidney failure, was prescribed Science Diet’s kidney (k/d). She absolutely refused it. I called Hills & was told that a lot of dogs would not eat it because they didn’t like the taste. They recommended I mix the kibble with the canned food & warm it up in the microwave, which was supposed to make it more palatable.First thing I did was have my new rescue pupper checked out by my vet to get to the root cause of her skin issues. She determined it was seasonal vs environmental or dietary. I mentioned this food to her. She told me that this formulation was about the best there was for skin issues & advised me to continue it.Fast forward almost 4 months. My dog’s skin is as clear as it has been the entire time I’ve had her. She is not biting, itching, & scratching anywhere near what she was. She had gotten a raw deal in her short little life & now, she just seems happier & I credit a lot of that to this food. As long as my pupper will keep eating this, I’ll keep feeding it. I’m disabled & housebound, which makes it difficult for me to get to a pet store to buy this. I really appreciate the fact that Amazon sells this at the same price as the big pet supply retailers do. Chewy.com sells it for the same price as well, but unless you meet their minimum order requirements, you will pay for shipping. Being a Prime member, not only do I NOT incur shipping costs, but I can get it delivered to my door the following day, which is much better than Chewy & more convenient than a trip to my local pet store.A great product that works as advertised at the best possible price delivered quickly?? It just doesn’t get any better than that. So, if you have a dog with skin issues/sensitivities, give this a shot…if it works as well for your pupper as it did mine, your best friend will thank you for it.
Weight Loss Product. There are only 234 calories per cup! It’s the lowest in its class of prescription diet food and it’s suitable for any size dog. And it tastes delicious seeing the my dog has only lost 4 lbs. but at around $100 for 27.5 lb bag, it is pricey.I do admit though, giving treats as well. Prescription treats. Who can resist a dog pleading for more while licking his lips! Can’t always say no to him. Guikty

Her black and tan coat looked like it was stretched to the max when I adopted her in 2017. She had a medical condition afterwards and was put on weight gaining meds. In 2022, she was put on Metabolic Chow and these Bone Treats — she has lost from 16 pounds to 13.4 in just a few months. My dog loves these treats and have been the only treat she has been allowed to eat consistently, besides receiving her calming treat and omega-3. The Vet also put her on the metabolic canned food which I have not had any luck in getting her to eat as she should. She is holding to the 13.4, but trying to get her weight back to the normal weight of min-pins.

Love this dog food. I have an English lab. I always joke and say we are on diet 543… even with us walking 5 miles a day. I researched and decided to try this Metobolic food. It’s been a miracle. My dog has lost 15 pounds in 4 months. He’s happy and healthy.

Vet Recommended my dog to lose weight. My vet recommended this dog food and she lost 10 lbs and her coat, energy, vitality looks & feels very healthy.Pricey, but good dog food, no problems at all.
Lamb flavor. My 4 y/o border collie gained 10 pounds after she’s spayed. I switched to the non-prescription weight management food which worked for my other dog but not her. I read a review mentioning this food is high in fiber, which keeps her full for a longer time. Therefore I decided to try it as my husband feels bad “starving” her. she lost 3 pounds in two weeks! She also didn’t urge my husband to give her extra food later in the day. She loves the lamb flavor adult food which I’m glad it’s also available in this prescription food. It’s expensive but worth it.
Expensive but helped my boy shed 10 pounds. Prior to beginning his “diet”, I fed him non -preccription weight management dog food with tiny bit of mix ins so he didn’t get bored of same ol food day in/day out. When the vet said, ZERO mix ins or treats I expected my boy would go on a hunger strike in protest. To my surprise he ate entire bowl of the chicken flavored kibble as is, without mix ins. The size (1/2 inch) and triangular shape of the kibble is probably best suited for medium to large breeds. Also according to the feeding instructions I was able to give him more than what he was eating before the diet. My dog met his target weight at the follow up appt and everyone is happy. Bonus: I save few bucks with subscription and I don’t have to worry about lugging 27lb bag of food home. The largest size lasts us 5-6 weeks (70lb pit mix). It arrives like clockwork on my doorstep packaged inside a box. Personally I think the box is wasteful however the box AND the plastic dog food bag is recyclable. My local ‘Pet Supplies Plus’ store collects pet food/treat bags for recycling. I would recommend this dog food to anyone. I deducted a star due to the RIDICULOUSLY high price.
Great First Impressions. We finally decided to get our 8yr old lab prescription weight control food with joint and digestion benefits. This has been the first food she’s eating daily without a lot of fuss. She seems to be more active. Her stool a digestive system seems to be great too. We will see how the weight loss looks like at doc visit. But visually she seems to have lost weight. The price point is definitely not easy to swallow but for the benefits, I am okay paying a premium.
Science Diet metabolism/joint is awesome. This is helped my dog so much, she has hip and knee issues. Trying to stay away from surgery so rehab exercise, a couple meds and diet have been key!
Hill’s Prescription Diet w/d — Great for My Diabetic Dog. My dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and along with insulin, our vet prescribed this food. Since it requires a prescription, Amazon contacted my vet for approval, and the process was quick and smooth. As soon as the vet approved it, my order arrived fast. I now have it set to auto-ship every 3 weeks. My dog had lost weight before, but now he’s gained it back and looks so much healthier. I’m really happy with this food!
Seems very nutritious but also relatively expensive. My dog seems OK with consuming it but not with great relish. He has no dietary problems and is surviving at 16 years old. Note that the price of the same bag of food went from about $40 to over $80 over approximately the last 2 years.

Pudgy pooch to Svelte Spaniel. I started my overweight King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, male, 8 year old on this prescription food and after six months he had lost 5 lbs. Might not sound a lot but for a dog his size/breed it’s a good amount. Still needs to loose a few more pounds but think very doable. This is with doing fairly the same amount of physical activity as before.He likes the food well enough and seems to fill him up or at very least quell his hunger. His old food he would paw at his food bowl if he was hungry, with this food he never does. It makes it easier for me because I’m less likely to give him unhealthy treats, overfeed him being too weak to withstand that “look” from him.Not to talk crap but he has regular healthy looking bowel movements, no issues with gas, or shows any discomfort.Overall been worth the elevated cost.

Perfect For My JoJo. Recommend by doggie hospital vet who treated my JoJo for a bad reaction to dollar store treats that someone gave him which were full of grains, artificial fillers and food coloring. None of these harmful ingredients are in the Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and Skin. In fact, chicken being his favorite protein, really hit the spot from the very beginning. I didn’t have to intice or push him to eat it. He quickly regained his health and energy and as an added bonus his coat became soft and shiny. Well made and Lucy loves it. Awesome food. Very simple ingredients but has the extra nutrients you senior pup needs. I add in a few bits of cooked chicken breast, a tiny bit of water, toss in the microwave for 8 seconds and my little gobbler eats it all regaining her membership in the clean plate club!

Great for weak stomach. This dog food hill’s science diet sensitive stomach and skin. Dog food is all i can feed my babes my oldest he’s a weak Stomach. He does really good on this kind. It’s high but its worth the money.
My dog absolutely loves this food. My dog absolutely loves this food! The kibble is the perfect small size, and he gets excited every time I fill his bowl. Since switching, his stomach seems much calmer with no digestive issues, and his coat looks softer and shinier. I also like that it doesn’t have a strong smell like some dog foods. A little pricey, but worth it to see him happy and feeling good.

In 2022, she was put on Metabolic Chow and these Bone Treats — she has lost from 16 pounds to 13.4 in just a few months. My dog loves these treats and have been the only treat she has been allowed to eat consistently, besides receiving her calming treat and omega-3. The Vet also put her on the metabolic canned food which I have not had any luck in getting her to eat as she should. She is holding to the 13.4, but trying to get her weight back to the normal weight of min-pins.
Love this dog food. I have an English lab. I always joke and say we are on diet 543… even with us walking 5 miles a day. I researched and decided to try this Metobolic food. It’s been a miracle. My dog has lost 15 pounds in 4 months. He’s happy and healthy.

Finally it got to a point where breathing was bothering her so our vet suggested this food.We stuck strictly to the measurements on the bag and within a month and a half she lost 5 pounds.Now we are at our goal weight. Started at 25lbs and now at 15lbs. She’s more playful and can even jump on the couch now! It’s worth the price

Vet Recommended my dog to lose weight. My vet recommended this dog food and she lost 10 lbs and her coat, energy, vitality looks & feels very healthy.Pricey, but good dog food, no problems at all.
Lamb flavor. My 4 y/o border collie gained 10 pounds after she’s spayed. I switched to the non-prescription weight management food which worked for my other dog but not her. I read a review mentioning this food is high in fiber, which keeps her full for a longer time. Therefore I decided to try it as my husband feels bad “starving” her. she lost 3 pounds in two weeks! She also didn’t urge my husband to give her extra food later in the day. She loves the lamb flavor adult food which I’m glad it’s also available in this prescription food. It’s expensive but worth it.

Expensive but helped my boy shed 10 pounds. Prior to beginning his “diet”, I fed him non -preccription weight management dog food with tiny bit of mix ins so he didn’t get bored of same ol food day in/day out. When the vet said, ZERO mix ins or treats I expected my boy would go on a hunger strike in protest. To my surprise he ate entire bowl of the chicken flavored kibble as is, without mix ins. The size (1/2 inch) and triangular shape of the kibble is probably best suited for medium to large breeds. Also according to the feeding instructions I was able to give him more than what he was eating before the diet. My dog met his target weight at the follow up appt and everyone is happy. Bonus: I save few bucks with subscription and I don’t have to worry about lugging 27lb bag of food home. The largest size lasts us 5-6 weeks (70lb pit mix). It arrives like clockwork on my doorstep packaged inside a box. Personally I think the box is wasteful however the box AND the plastic dog food bag is recyclable. My local ‘Pet Supplies Plus’ store collects pet food/treat bags for recycling. I would recommend this dog food to anyone. I deducted a star due to the RIDICULOUSLY high price.

Great First Impressions. We finally decided to get our 8yr old lab prescription weight control food with joint and digestion benefits. This has been the first food she’s eating daily without a lot of fuss. She seems to be more active. Her stool a digestive system seems to be great too. We will see how the weight loss looks like at doc visit. But visually she seems to have lost weight. The price point is definitely not easy to swallow but for the benefits, I am okay paying a premium.

Science Diet metabolism/joint is awesome. This is helped my dog so much, she has hip and knee issues. Trying to stay away from surgery so rehab exercise, a couple meds and diet have been key!
Hill’s Prescription Diet w/d — Great for My Diabetic Dog. My dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and along with insulin, our vet prescribed this food. Since it requires a prescription, Amazon contacted my vet for approval, and the process was quick and smooth. As soon as the vet approved it, my order arrived fast. I now have it set to auto-ship every 3 weeks. My dog had lost weight before, but now he’s gained it back and looks so much healthier. I’m really happy with this food!
Seems very nutritious but also relatively expensive. My dog seems OK with consuming it but not with great relish. He has no dietary problems and is surviving at 16 years old. Note that the price of the same bag of food went from about $40 to over $80 over approximately the last 2 years.

Pudgy pooch to Svelte Spaniel. I started my overweight King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, male, 8 year old on this prescription food and after six months he had lost 5 lbs. Might not sound a lot but for a dog his size/breed it’s a good amount. Still needs to loose a few more pounds but think very doable. This is with doing fairly the same amount of physical activity as before.He likes the food well enough and seems to fill him up or at very least quell his hunger. His old food he would paw at his food bowl if he was hungry, with this food he never does. It makes it easier for me because I’m less likely to give him unhealthy treats, overfeed him being too weak to withstand that “look” from him.Not to talk crap but he has regular healthy looking bowel movements, no issues with gas, or shows any discomfort.Overall been worth the elevated cost.

Perfect For My JoJo. Recommend by doggie hospital vet who treated my JoJo for a bad reaction to dollar store treats that someone gave him which were full of grains, artificial fillers and food coloring. None of these harmful ingredients are in the Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and Skin. In fact, chicken being his favorite protein, really hit the spot from the very beginning. I didn’t have to intice or push him to eat it. He quickly regained his health and energy and as an added bonus his coat became soft and shiny. Always arrives in good condition with the moisture free packaging keeping it fresh. 🐕

Well made and Lucy loves it. Awesome food. Very simple ingredients but has the extra nutrients you senior pup needs. I add in a few bits of cooked chicken breast, a tiny bit of water, toss in the microwave for 8 seconds and my little gobbler eats it all regaining her membership in the clean plate club!

Great for weak stomach. This dog food hill’s science diet sensitive stomach and skin. Dog food is all i can feed my babes my oldest he’s a weak Stomach. He does really good on this kind. It’s high but its worth the money.
My dog absolutely loves this food. My dog absolutely loves this food! The kibble is the perfect small size, and he gets excited every time I fill his bowl. Since switching, his stomach seems much calmer with no digestive issues, and his coat looks softer and shinier. I also like that it doesn’t have a strong smell like some dog foods. A little pricey, but worth it to see him happy and feeling good.
