  1. Picky cats choose this. I have wasted a lot of money buying many different brushes, combs, trimmer, detanglers, what have you. Finally! This my cat likes. She is long haired with enough fur for 3 or 4 cats. Once her adult coat grew in, she has not been able to keep up — and the tangles grow, multiply, and become tangle cities. First I tried giving her an all-body hair cut, quickly gave that up due to blood loss (my blood … from her claws). I was reduced to cutting apart tangles (when she was in really good mood) and trimming her beard (aka lioness mane), and so she coould get passed it to groom her stomach. Then this brush arrived. She likes it! She has allowed me to brush different bits — and work out small tangles with brush. She even rubs her own cheeks on the brush! This brush is awesome!

  2. Our fave slicker brush. I’ve picked up a handful of different grooming tools to find out which ones our blind Pekingese likes best – a wooden comb, pin brush, etc. Turns out he won’t let me groom him, and rewarded me with bites. To my surprise, his Pug brother took an immediate liking to the slicker brush. I had bought a cheap version that fell apart when I pulled the fur out of the bristles, so this brush was its replacement. Rico loves being brushed, happily rolling over so I don’t miss his precious tummy. Mr. Magoo is rocking a new summer cut, and the bites are healing quickly. This post is an emotional rollercoaster ride!!

  3. Best cat brush out there. I purchased this brush when I just adopted my cat 3 years ago, now buying another one because old one is starting to wear out. He’s obsessed with it and will run towards it whenever he sees someone holding it. He doesn’t like any other brush as much. No other brush beats this one’s performance, quality and price.

  4. I use it for all my foster cats and dogs. This is the perfect item for my foster animals! Since I never know whether I’ll be getting a big or small animal next, I got the small brush. They all LOVE the way it feels, and I love that it doesn’t hurt my wrist later. The shape also helps to get the side of their jawlines and under chin. Highly recommend. Especially for this price!

  5. My boys love it. Absolutely amazing brush! It’s our second brush after the old one broke down. It takes so much of fur from my cats. One of them struggles with hairballs and thank to this brush that I use daily he hasn’t vomited hairballs for months and he used to vomit at least once per week. This brush is perfect for hairball control without the use of medication.

Tough to Get Hair Out. Good brush however after brushing my dogs, the hair is a little tough to get out of the bristles. This brush does the trick but that is the only downfall.

Great brush for the price. We love this slicker brush! Our dog is quite the shedder, and this brush really keeps the pet hair down around the house. It’s obviously cheaply made, but for the price it’s hard to beat. We also use a Furminator brush, but those should be used sparingly as to not damage the undercoat. The slicker brush is our daily driver and it does a great job. Our dog doesn’t mind the brushing sessions with the brush. Great value!

  9. Perfect for our Medium-Long Hair Cats. When we adopted our two kittens, they were malnourished and their coats were thinned out with just a hint that they’d be very fluffy some day. The smaller version of this brush was perfect starting out at just over a wispy two pounds to get them used to daily brushing while they were still little. The bristle pattern, length, and capped pins were a win to get out their tangles, penetrating their coats while still gentle. As they rapidly grew past the normal growth rate for kittens and filled out with glorious manes, we needed to upgrade to a larger brush paddle. I was hesitant to get this larger version based on reviews of the cushion popping out, but have not experienced it with our daily brushing of two cats. It’s just perfect for our needs, and an absolute favorite. We much prefer it over slicker brushes that don’t have capped bristles. Our darker orange boy doesn’t have much of an undercoat and constantly looks scruffy, has more tangles to attend to, definitely more squirmy, but this brush is able to smooth him out quickly and comfortably. Our lighter buff boy has a very dense and puffy coat, and he absolutely adores this brush and will run to my lap when it’s time for grooming. It is able to get though all his layers and hopefully prevent future matting from ever being an issue. It can be a bit more difficult to clean, but the self cleaning styles just can’t offer the sanity and pattern of these bristles. Simply taking another brush or comb to it is enough to mostly clean up the accumulated hair. Overall I just highly recommend for any cat owner, but particularly for medium to long haired.

  10. Good brush. Used this on my long haired husky and she has sensitive skin. She didn’t flinch once or try to escape my grasp. The bristles are nicely coated and must feel good because for once she rolled over to get brushed. It leaves the hair soft and tangle free. I just wish the brush was self cleaning, like others where you push a button. I had to use a comb to get the hair off the brush.I think it’s a good buy and worth the money.

  11. Works Great. I have a boxer/Beagle this brush does help remove and catch his loose hair.i had tried to clean the brush of his hair and was about to throw the brush away. However when I started to bang the brush against something hard his hair started to fall out of the brush. Banging the brush against something hard definitely will clean the brush. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like the brush. Which is why I had to deduct 1-star

  12. Works so well. Works well and the cats adore it. Easy even on long haired cats. Does not pull their hair.

  13. Works great on my doodle. I like this brush. The bristles are flexible and not too sharp that they would scratch my dogs skin.I just wish that they would make a smaller version, and one with a shorter handle. The size of this brush makes it difficult to groom my small-medium dog.

  14. Works great. Desheds the dog perfectly and does not pull on him. He will sit and let you do it.

  15. Helps take off the extra fur. I de-flea my kitty with a flea comb every day, and then I use this brush a few times a week to take off any extra fur, and to stimulate his skin. He likes it, it’s soft enough, and it doesn’t hurt him at all. I know he appreciates not having hair balls with this routine, so we thank you very much for a nice brush. The oval head it nice so I can get around his face, and around his body just fine. Nice color, too! Highly recommended.

  17. Gentle and Effective. I was using a furminator brush for years but my dog hated it. Found out it was the wrong kind of brush so I switched to this brush. First time brushing, i got just as much fur as the Furminator but with less effort and less fuss from my golden boy. His fur also looks so nice after using this brush. I highly recommend this brush for double coated dogs

  18. Works Great. Bought this brush for our wavy haired schnoodle. I had a different brush that was wide bristled and wanted to try something different with fine bristles and this brush is from a known brand and super affordable. The brush is good sized, not too small or too large and easy to hold. I started brushing his hair on his head first and immediately saw a difference. Made the hair more fluffy and combed out, not stringy looking. In these pics, you can see the difference from his head and his unbrushed body. The brush does snag some but it’s easy to use small gentle strokes to get through.

  19. Great Brush. My Chi doesn’t like wire brushes …this is Hartz brush is her first with plastic Brissles. It works so good ! It’s wide so covers a wide spot, it’s to use and grabs lots of hair. Now she loves getting a brushing ..thanks Hartz

  20. Works Great. Bought this brush to brush my mini schnauzer! It works great, gets the knits out of their hair, strong combs, easy to use, my dogs don’t mind it. It’s durable and will last a long time. Easy to get the hair out of their brush too. I’ll be grabbing this brush first to comb my dogs snarly fur.
