  1. Darn you Mr. Squeeky and your funloving ways. I first found these at a giant brick and mortar store that has since stopped carrying this size. I have a dachshund and he swears by this toy. So much so that he has worn out the original and is now working on number 2 ( after a year of CONSTANT use ( seriously we have to take it away just before bed or it ends up under my wife or myself and sqeeks when you roll over and it’s the first thing he looks for in the morning)).I was reading over the other reviews and saw someone compare them to the Kong brand of toys. This was a really unrealistic comparison. The Kong brand is for dogs that are bent on destructive chewing habits whereas these toys are just that… toys, they are not meant to be indestructible so IF you already know your dog just wants to chew something until it’s gone don’t worry about grabbing one of these. However, if your dog loves to run and chase a well designed sqeek toy that’s easy to grab even for aging teeth please keep reading. Here’s the breakdown of this toy;Positive notes:The fluffy stuff inside this ball keeps the sqeeking action going EVEN after the dog has punctured the outer shell within reason. The ball is just around the size of a tennis ball so throwing and gripping are no problem for owner or dog however there are indents that add an extra element of adventure for the dog by causing an uneven bounce patern. They are so close to tennis ball sized that a Chuckit! Launcher holds them fine. The rubber outer shell is a soft velvety feeling stuff that is extremely resistant to bites except for super sharp puppie teeth as one reviewer noted. I purchased one of these ( medium ) for a friend at work and her larger dog is just over a year old so the razor sharp edges of her furbabies teeth have been dulled just a bit. that one lasted 7 months and now she’s asking for details on where to buy them and what size that one was.The DOWN SIDE(s):The dog’s love these things. None of the dogs or puppies I have gotten one for as a gift will leave them alone and when they finally perish in a sqeekless glory the dogs ( 5 total ) have ALL pined for their Dura Play. I wouldn’t really want to count this as a downside but anything that addictive is prolly not healthy psychologically. ( not that my dog cares one bit for the psychology of addiction as long as he has his Mr. Squeeky )My only other complaint is that the sqeeker is buried down in there. I don’t know how that one dog got the thing out but I have tried to give our spare one laryngitis with car keys and coathangers just so we can go out and play late at night in the summer without bothering our neighbors. Not happening, this thing withstood everything I felt comfortable throwing at it. And trust me I dug around in there trying to make it silent. They will however jar loose after months and months of impact against the ground and so go silent for a day or two at times until it hit’s just right and there it goes making it’s happy sounds again. They do seem to “talk” in different pitches and my dog loves the lower pitches ( I think the higher pitched ones hurt his ears ) those are the first ones I gave away as gifts and those dogs had no issues with the sound so it may just be a preferential thing. He’s getting up in age so it may just be that the higher pitch is harder for him to hear as well. All in all, again, UNLESS your dog or puppie is just out to destroy his or her toys I would really recomend giving this ball a shot.

  2. Dog loves them. I was not happy when these balls arrived. I thought that they were something you would win at a carnival game. My dog is a very large shepherd who can devour a tennis ball within a few minutes. It seemed as though these balls would get punctured the moment my dog wrapped its jaws around them. it turns out that all the balls are still in tack. We have had them for over a week . My dog prefers these balls over his chuck it squeaky balls that I bought the day these arrived. I just don’t leave these balls with my dog for any length of time for him to tear them apart. He prefers these balls to play with on hikes or in the back yard. I don’t find the squeaky sound that annoying. the important thing, is that my dog loves them. if these balls only last for three months, I will buy them again, because of how funny my dog acts when he plays with these balls. Originally I just thought of them as a Happy meal toy, but I have changed my mind

The great review for this are spot on. The little dog says these were the best birthday gift ever! We read all the reviews and saw where little dogs love these flavored balls. I am not so sure of the flavoring, though one kid licked the ball and said it does sort of taste like bacon. They smell a bit at first even when you are at a distance but a few months latter and I do not smell it on a daily basis when sitting in the living room. I am sure the little dog can smell it and taste it.They are suitable for indoor of outdoor use. Little dog plays with these outside, holds it in his mouth and can bring it inside on his own. We do not leave our dog toys out overnight but I thing these would do ok. They squeak easily and he loves that. After the kids go to bed he grabs a balls and squeaks the pee out of it! I guess he is celebrating that the kids are down for the night. He has used these balls in the indoor ball pit. We have the pop up tubes and pop up tent/ball pit area. I dumped in 100 regular balls. I added three kids and they wanted little dog to join them. We tossed in one of these balls while squeaking it and he was wild with excitement running through the tube with them!Get these balls! Throw one over the fence if your neighbor has a little dog with their permission of course!

  4. They stand up to aggressive chewers. When my neighbor’s big dog passed, she gifted me with his toys, one of which was a dura play ball. Her super large dog did not destroy it, and my dog has had a lot of fun with it. I saw the neon ones and got them for him. He usually has a new toy destroyed in minutes, or at least before the day is done. He LOVES these balls. He will play with it himself for a long time, or bring it to me to play with him. We have played fetch and tug of war with not only the new ones but the old one as well. Not a sign on any of them that they are chewed on, and he does chew on them. A great investment if you have a big chewer. The squeaker will drive you crazy, though. Just a heads up on that one!

  5. Great product. I bought one before that the dog LOVED, so why not three more? These balls are his favorite toys now, he won’t bother with anything else.Since they arrived, every evening he plays for about an hour. It’s the only ball he will catch and he loves the squeak. So much that if he is outdoors and won’t come in?I can take one to the door, give it a few good squeezes and he will magically appear.I have read other reviews about a dog destroying them the first day. If your dog is a chewer, this probably isn’t for them, they are made of a soft rubber that won’t stand up to any real chewing, but if your dog has a soft mouth, this should provide them with a lot of play time.I think I enjoy watching him play, than the dog does playing with them.Great deal, I wish I had found these sooner – They would have made a great training aid because of the instant attention I get out of the dog when he sees or hears one.

  6. Great size for a miniature Eskie. My American Eskimo isn’t big on balls but that’s not the products fault. They seem quite durable and have a great squeak to them. She plays with them if I get involved but not much otherwise. They are the perfect size to fit into her little mouth though. Just what I was hoping. I just wish you could buy Hartz products individually and get the color you want. I would NEVER give any Hartz product like flea & tick, their shampoo, etc because of their terrible history but I decided to try their toys and so far they seem OK but my dog isn’t a chewer and I haven’t researched the safety of their toys enough to be sure so I would suggest that first.

  7. 🙌🏻 Excellent Toy – updated review. The media could not be loaded.  My dogs are destroyers of tennis balls… usually have them torn up in 10 mins or less. These balls are GREAT!1. Soft but sturdy. One of my dogs is an obsessive chewer – he gets in the zone. So far, these are holding up great.2. The squeak is annoying after 30mins of constant play, but that’s a great thing. It’s keeping my dogs entertained longer than a few minutes.3. The larger ball size that I ordered is bigger than a tennis ball so there is no rolling under the couches and me on my belly trying to dig them out.I definitely recommend these. If they end up not lasting, I will come back and update my review.UPDATE: it has been 3 month and these toys are still holding up well. The squeakers are still intact and working and my super chewer dog has yet to do any damage. Still 5 stars and would recommend them without hesitation. One was left out in the sun for a few weeks and it has faded on the sun-facing side, but the toy is still soft and has not had any steam structural issues. I’m updating my video to show they still work after 3 months.

  8. Our 2.5 GSD loves it. Our GSD is a hit or miss when it comes to balls. She usually prefers competition games such as tugging, chasing and capturing vs. cooperative games like fetch. We have never found a ball that has kept her interest, until now. I honestly have no idea why this ball over the several dozen other ones we own, but she absolutely loves this one. If we are unable to play with her, she’ll toss it around herself and play. For the price (under $8 for the large size), I’m coming back to purchase more! Now, outside her loving it, the durability is questionable, but seriously the price and her amount of use on this toy is worth it for us. She has had this now for 8 days and sadly it stopped squeaking the original squeak within 24 hours. However, that was after a lot of play with an aggressive chewer. It then had a weird squeak for several days and by day 7, no more squeak. Which, honestly is kind of nice as the constant squeaking is annoying, but I think the squeaker kept her engaged. She has put a LOT of holes inside the ball, but the integrity of the rubber is holding up! With holes, the ball is still completely intact and the squeaker inside has not come out. She has not torn the rubber apart either. I love that she hasn’t lost interest in the ball even though the squeaker is gone. This is supposed to smell like bacon, not sure if it really does. Maybe a fine hint, just enough for a dog’s nose so it’s my overwhelming for us humans. A part of tasting is smelling, so maybe it really does smell like bacon and that’s why my dog loves this so much.I definitely recommend this toy and will continue to purchase these as needed.

  13. Amazon Customer March 11, 2024 at 12:00 am

I bought 10 more. I purchased this for our new puppy: a 10-week-old German Shepherd/Mastiff. He loved it so much I bought 3 more. My Chihuahua also loves them, so I bought 7 more after that.Do they last forever? Absolutely not. But it keeps my boys happy and gives them some good exercise. They love it. I love it. It’s a win-win.Pros: dogs go crazy for it; loud squeaker; easy to throw; solid bounce – even on carpetCons: you’ll buy more ($$); they’re packaged oddly – the plastic tag holding them in place doesn’t pull out; they are fairly easily punctured by teeth – but still last for a while afterward

  14. Cool and fun. My dog loves this set of balls. It is loud, squeaky and durable. The old ones used to have a bacon flavor scent to them, but now they just smell like chemicals.

  15. Puppy’s favorite. Hands down, one of the best toys for heavy chewer puppies. My miniature dachsund puppy destroys most toys in a manner of minutes or days. But these balls take a licking and keep on ticking. They are a very pliable rubber that gives when chewed, rather than coming apart. The pack of 3 is a real deal. Each has lasted several months without any tears or punctures, which I find very impressive. Eventually the squeaker gives out but my puppy still continues to love to chew, wrestle, fetch, and tug with the ball. They are made with a smell that is not overpowering and subsides over time. The lightweight and contoured shape makes it easy for even very small puppies to grab it. The colors are bright and make the balls easy to find. We have also bought the set of 3 bones and those are another favorite. Strongly recommend these!! I would give them 10 stars if I could.

  16. Perfect for dog around 12lbs smells like bacon, bouncy, durable, and they squeak. Second time I’ve ordered. She had 1st set for years. Decided to refresh with a new set. She loves them. They are soft, but firm enough to get a good bounce. I like that you can wipe them off. They smell like bacon which is a plus for her. Sometimes she gets one and just bounces on it to make the squeak noise. Entertains her with us or alone. And it comes in a set of three. Just a good quality dog toy. It’s hard to find for this price.

  17. Great dog toys and we have ordered several times. These are a keeper for sure. The quality and softness of these balls are perfect. My dogs absolutely love them. We have ordered these balls several times because my dogs wear them out. They love the squeakers as they will sit and squeak them typically when I’m trying to go to bed. We have 4 dogs, and 2 of the dogs will sometimes try and chew to remove the squeakers. We don’t mind ordering these frequently because our dogs love them and wear them out. We found out there is white fleece type stuffing inside these balls because several have been ripped open.I would recommend getting these as they are a huge favorite. One thing I wish we buy only the green ones because one of my dogs will only play with and actually hoard only the green balls.I’m actually making another order of these medium sized balls right now because they just tore the squeaker out of the last green ball.Highly recommend these as your dog will love them.

  18. Be careful if they go in the water. Our dogs love these balls and they’ve held up very well, but even though they float, they also collect water through the squeaker hole that’s impossible to get out. I’m a little worried about bacteria, etc., growing inside and not sure what to do about it, other than throw them away at a certain point.

  19. Our puppy went crazy for this toy. He absolutely loves it! we are having so much fun with the ball. it has a nice squeak to it, so it does not drive us crazy. Nice and soft and really smells like bacon. He picked green and other two will be presents for his friends. hopefully they will love it as much as he does.

  20. recommend it to any dog owner looking for a fun and engaging toy. I recently purchased the Hartz DuraPlay Bacon Scented Dog Toys for my dog, and I couldn’t be happier! He has rediscovered his love for fetch and now plays independently, which is a huge relief. The bacon scent keeps him engaged, and the toy’s durability means it withstands his enthusiastic play. It’s the perfect size for him to carry around, and he enjoys chewing on it too. This toy has truly revitalized his playtime, making it a fantastic addition to our collection. I highly recommend it to any dog owner looking for a fun and engaging toy
