Works great and easy to clean. I had a large popcorn maker cart which looked cool but ended up taking up too much space and it was hard to clean. This involves the same process and is way easier to clean. Tip: use a 1:1 popcorn to oil recipe. 1/3 cup fits perfectly when done.
Makes great popcorn and very easy to use. The Great Northern Popcorn machine makes terrific popcorn. It makes stovetop popcorn without burning any kernels. Popcorn made with oil in this manner tastes so much better than popcorn made in air and microware poppers.
works good so far, some people misunderstand the stirring. It worked great the first batch so far, will update this if it breaks down. Too many people here think the stirring thing is meant to stir the kernels, it isn’t, they hover above them and just stir the popped popcorn. Dont try to do more than 1/2 cup of white kernels like I did, as i noticed near the end it got stiff to stir and you dont want to stress the gearbox. When it gets stiff just stop stirring and give it a few more seconds to pop some more. I think 1/2 or slightly less of a cup is perfect with 2+ tablespoons of coconut oil, you dont need to stir until it starts popping which happens after the oil gets hot enough and starts sizzling/boiling and I kept the lid closed the whole time. I have a flat top electric range and I had it a smidge below medium heat. Mine came manufactured well, box came in good shape and its packed well in styrofoam in the box.Also, don’t use one of the heaters on the range that is slightly smaller than the size of the popper, use one of the big ones that is a bit larger than it. The part that touches the range is on the outer edge so you need 100% of that part touching direct heat.
Love it. I love this popper! Now I can eat healthy popcorn and it’s so easy to make. It arrived on time and was packaged very well. No problems.
