Beefy in my belly. I grabbed these to up my iron intake during pregnancy. My iron levels run low normally and I tend to be low energy if I haven’t had enough red meats or iron rich foods, so I’m happy to take a few of these pills everyday. I don’t take the recommended dose shown on the bottle as I’m not regularly testing my iron throughout this pregnancy but I’m comfortable taking 2-4 a day depending on my natural food intake. They taste slightly beefy/ iron-y if you pay attention but not bad at all. The taste doesn’t linger for me either. I started with these about 3 months ago and haven’t felt any bothersome side effects that some people have with taking iron supplements. When these run out I’ll pick up another bottle.
Health. I have not taken a full bottle of this. And I haven’t had any blood work done so I’m not sure if it’s doing what I’ve been wanting it to do. But I am aware that I have a lot of energy I get up very early in the morning and I am rarely tired. At this point I highly recommend it.
Easily digested. I really like this! It doesn’t make me gassy and constipated. I’m curious how it will effect my lab values. I had stopped taking iron due to side effects and needed infusions.
Tastes gross, but WORKS. I have had iron deficiency and could never take regular iron supplements long term bc of how they effected my gut. And changing my diet wasn’t very effective. But these worked! Not only did I start to absorb iron within the week I started taking them, I didn’t even have to take a full dose! I can get by with 1 or 2 pills a day or even every other day. I feel so much better when I take them!! Like I finally have energy!!They taste absolutely disgusting, BUT there’s a method. Take them in the middle of a savory meal. Get a flavored drink like coffee, juice, chocolate milk, ect. Put the drink in your mouth first, then pop in a pill, swish a tad and swallow. Immediately follow up with another swig of drink and take a bit of your savory meal. Sometimes I hardly even taste it at all. Really, they just taste like a savory like liver or beef taste. I hate it, but you might not even mind it.I hope this helps anyone else struggling to get their iron levels up!
