Love the nostalgia of this machine and the copper that won’t kill my Bird. I used to have. Ronco version of this from the 80’s lol. And my mom and I were reminiscing. We couldn’t find it anywhere. I’m sure my brother stole it! I decided to look for one for mother’s day. This hit the mark because I have a parrot and Teflon in toxic for birds. Most others are Teflon coated. Many others were much more expensive. There were fancier ones that had more bells and whistles, but the copper and the fact that the nostalgia was the true gift made this one the perfect purchase. She makes mini apple pies in it. Always has. But if you have tweens, it’s great!!! We always used it to make anything you can buy as a hot pocket now. Pizza was the obvious favorite. Fast, you can be creative and make all kinds of things. It’s a good transition into cooking. It’s harder to burn yourself than the stove, the over, or even the toaster oven. And it wipes out clean like a charm. Brings back great memories. It would be great for a dorm room. Those mini apple pies, let me just tell you!!! It’s easier now. They sell premade cinnamon apples because Boston market made that a popular side. All you need is a little butter or substitute and put in some of that, seal it – in a few minutes you can have 4 apple pies better for you than McDonalds!!! GREAT for eggs and little omelette too!! Like an omelette bar. No need to use bread. All these types of machines are modeled after the machine I grew up with. The draw with this one was the copper- safe for my bird, and the copper. But in general, these little guys are so much fun to cook with and to start your kids cooking in a much safer way than the alternatives.

What I love about this Gotham sandwich maker is how easy and delicious the sandwiches comes out, you need no butter or oil added so is healthier, however I like to put a little garlic olive oil and wow beautiful!!I hesitated a little since the reviews were not good, but I went ahead and bought and I’m glad I did. This makes the perfect sandwich every time not burn bread or soft , just toasted to perfection.Oh and the best has yet to come how easy to clean it is, I just use a wet paper towel and voila clean and shiny again.Nothing sticks to it, durable and very well made of strong titanium fused with super slick ceramic you make two sandwiches, the lid locks and is very easy to use red means not ready and green means is ready to eat yummy. Recommended

Bit of a pain to clean.GOOD:* Heats up really quickly. Green light goes off, ready to cook.* Cooks everything, slice of raw onion cooked in a few minutes. Cheese & onion toasted sandwich, great.BAD:* Its all to do with cleaning: bits stick on it. Not exactly Teflon. I have to scrub pretty hard to remove the cheese and bits of toast.* OK, one other thing. If you dont use a good solid bit of bread, it can stick to the top of the toaster, ripping the sandwich apart when you open it up. Maybe, I should spray it with cooking oil?* It makes 2 small sandwiches, like really small ones.SUMMARY: for the price it does the job, needs a bit of trial and error finding the right bread, seems to be designed for a small slice of bread, cooks it really quickly. Non stick is great. Non stick is great. Easy to use, great if you are in a rush. The only problem I have is, I eat 2 sandwiches instead of one.
Fast and Easy to use. My husband takes it on the road with him. This unit is bigger than our other sandwich maker, it allows you the option of more ingredients, andwhatever type of bread you want.

Love it. Cleaning it, not so much. I was looking for a sandwich press with a safe cooking surface, and discovered this press. Something for a fun snack here or there. I hadn’t had a grilled cheese since I was in my teens and have been wanting to try one that’s been made on a press like this. Let me say, this made the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Way better than how I remember making them in a frying pan on the stove, and a lot quicker. Both sides toasted nicely, for me, in just 4 minutes(Tried 5 and a little to burnt for my liking. I believe recipe included says 5 minutes for a grilled cheese). Only issue with the press is cleaning it. The cooking surface is easy to clean, but whatever may leak out of the sandwich onto the exterior plastic is hard to clean off. When I bought it, I expected the cooking surface to be removable for cleaning/rinsing. Nope, regardless, I highly recommend this press. A lot of fun.
