Amazing tool with “rotating pins” works well for our golden. [Picture of our golden’s back leg/hind quarters to compare left side after one session with this tool.]Holy smokies, this Furminator tool is AMAZING! We had the old version with the flat, close-in pins (for long-haired dogs), and while it worked, our dog wanted nothing to do with it.I broke this out of the packaging, let him sniff it, went to work on his coat, and was immediately impressed by how well this worked–without needing to add pressure or tug at tangles!*PROS:- Easy to use (again, without adding pressure)- The “rotating” pins really seemed to help move tool smoothly through the coat (no catching and pulling hair to cause discomfort)- Works on mats and smaller tangles with little effort (might have to start at the bottom for the bigger ones)- Pins are long enough to get through our golden’s coat and massage his skin- Rounded pin tips prevented discomfort from scrapes and scratches- One tool does it all for us! Brushing, massage, deshedding…*BONUS: He was wagging his tail and staying still while I went to work, even when I attacked his neck/chest beard and ears! I collected handful after handful of undercoat after what I considered a long and successful brushing just 2-3 days earlier.*CON: The tool helped loosen the hair so well that small clumps of undercoat would literally fly into the air (rather than bunch up *on him* at the end of my stroke, as happened when using other brushes/combs). I think I got even more hair on me than usual (and my black pants–because aren’t goldens only supposed to be brushed when you’re wearing dark colors? 😜), but I’m okay with this. What we tried before:- wire slicker brush: Worked well, especially with any matted hair, but he really didn’t like the wire bristles. Great with tangles, but I’d have to be really careful not to apply too much pressure or I could scratch or puncture him (or myself).- Furminator rake: With this tool (got one specifically for long-haired dogs), I never really got why Furminator was so positively regarded. For the most part it just semed to catch and *pull* at his hair (the pins were so closely set!). I had to apply extra pressure to get to the undercoat, which doggo didn’t like (it could/would scrape his skin), but it got the job done. Overall it was too cumbersome to use regularly, but I kept it in an attempt to be a responsible golden retriever dog owner (even if I didn’t use it).- combo plastic bristle + pin brush: This was our go-to tool (until now, heh heh heh!). Our doggo liked/tolerated this one well. Any increased pressure made the pins massage his skin harder (without causing discomfort), while the bristles caught the loose hairs/undercoat. Unfortunately, it did NOT do well with mats or any small knots/tangles, so I’d break out the wire slicker (above) for those sessions.

Siberian Husky Approved. This is the brush to add to my grooming arsenal for my Husky that I didn’t know I needed. I have a regular furminator for deshedding, a slicker brush, a dual sided pet “Wet Brush” for small maintenace brushing, and I even did have a grooming rake of another brand and it was actually the brush I used the least because it seemed like it didn’t do much! I kept reading all these articles and reviews for best brushes for dual coated dog grooming, and Siberian Huskies in particular and this one kept getting mentioned so I figured for the price I had to try it. I felt like my Husky was groomed pretty well and looked pretty good; she had her bath, blow out, a few good brushing sessions, and you didn’t see any of those pluckable hair tufts and then when I started brushing her with this rake I was shocked how much hair I was getting. It gets down deeper to that undercoat really well without pulling and you can’t overdo it like a traditional furminator. Aside from getting all the hair, it leaves my Husky’s fur looking very smooth and sleek without looking like someone took a rake in sand like some comb-style brushes do. This rake’s teeth are long enough and set far enough apart to be more than efficient for dual coated dogs, I guess I just had a crappy one before thinking that they didn’t do much. My dad has a Husky as well and I had to show him the magic of this brush on his and now he wants one too! I definitely recommend this to anyone with a dual coated dog.
Bent teeth right out of the box, but works quite well. Just received today, and was surprised to see the teeth bent or crooked right out of the box, brand new. I’ve used traditional Furminators in the past without issue, but needed this type for our 8 pound Pomsky (Pomeranian Husky mix). She has a super plush, long, THICK coat (like you’d expect from a Husky or Pom!) and looks like a tiny Husky. Shedding season came early this year (late July) and it’s all undercoat!!! It’s her first shed, so I’m hoping it won’t be so severe once she’s 2+ years old, but we’ll see. My expertly educated cousin who has a Husky Malamute mix recommended this type of rake and said NEVER to use a traditional Furminator on a Husky type coat or any dog with a thick undercoat or plush coat, because it cuts the guard hairs, which don’t grow back so quickly or easily! While the traditional Furminator works on my traditional/spaniel coated Pekingese (she doesn’t have the show type coat), and my adult daughter’s Boxer Pit mix (super short coat), it will never be used on my other kids Pomsky! It works very well! First pic is bent teeth! See my second pic for undercoat removal (after only a minute or two of brushing) of the Pomsky!
Great for thick undercoat. This rake has worked much better for me than any brush. Great for my Finnish Lapphund dog (similar coat to an Alaskan Malamute. Also similar to a Great Pyrenees double coat but my dog’s undercoat is thicker)Easily helps de-matt and smooth undercoat without tugging and without having to do line brushing. Helps remove shedding to keep my dog comfy and cool in the summer!
Husky fur. Thai brush/comb is awesome to get those deep matted clumps coming out. Our husky doesn’t like being plucked or brushed and so trying to get those problem areas is tough. This allows a quick removal of those deep chunks. He already looks so much better and his tails has never looked so good!!
Grooming Rake. I like this rake. I have several cats that don’t like grooming and this one gets at the knots which form because they don’t self groom or allow me to groom them. Just a couple of swipes with this and it gets at the knots before they form. You do have to keep combing your pet but it makes life easier.
Works great. I have a German Shepherd who lives in the house with us, so fur removal is a necessity. This works great to get all the undercoat off.
Great value. Works great and the dogs love it. So much he ate the handle. Lol help with tangling and shedding.
Works great. I got this for my dog. She is a mix and has long hair, and her shedding is awful. Her hair is thick and at its longest is about 4-5 inches of white/blonde dog hair. The brush was great and easy to use and pulled so much of the hair out with just one brushing. She isn’t a fan of being brushed yet so I was amazed at how well she sat and let me use this on her. It pulled much of her under coat out out. I plan to use it on her every few days to ease her into being brushed daily but I am so happy with this. I have tried several different brushes and this by far is my favorite.

AMAZING LONG HAIRED DOG TOOL. I have a half Great Pyrenees and half Australian Shepherd he is a hairy hairy dog and this brush is by far the best thing I have ever bought him. It is the best money I have every spent and it truly works. It is easy and gentle and really gets all the under coat and loose hair. Best brush for a long haired dog. Amazing!!!!

Works great. This brush works so well for getting tangles and stickers out of our great Pyrenees’s tail
Reduced shedding. I have a long haired German Shepard and needed to replace his brush. This is similar in style to his old one and definitely does the job. Removes the loose hair and leaves him happy. Leaves me happy because my carpets have a lot less hair to vacuum.
