  1. Excellent dog & cat toy. My dog was a rescue from a bad situation & has trust issues. I’ve had her over 6 months & she’s still afraid to go to the park or even walk around the neighborhood. She’s low energy & gets bored easily. We bought this toy as one of her therapy tools. It’s challenging for her (not for my cat though). I put a feline greenie treat in each pocket & my dog was able to master this toy, but took awhile. She’s never had to do mental work before so this was a big achievement once she learned you must return the longer white pieces back into place to get to the orange center pieces. The greenies are only 2 calories each so my dog could play this over & over again. So many pros (it’s durable & challenging). The only cons is that the pockets aren’t deep so must be a flat, small treat like kitty greenies or the pieces won’t slide. The 1st photo is her looking sad & frustrated (again she’s never been exposed to learning spatial reasoning stuff). We’ve been working on anxiety, trust, confidence & her fear issues. The 2nd photo she mastered the toy & she was rewarded with an Ol’ Roy dog bone. Very happy she loves it & my cat does too. Easier for my cat bc she has more dexterity using her feet. Great price too. 🥰

  3. Jury is still out on puppy use. I have a new 11 week old puppy that inhales her meals. She’s an Aussie, so I thought a puzzle would be a good tool to work her brain and slow down her hoovering speed. For a ravenous puppy, this does slow her down, but she doesn’t seem to be *solving* the puzzle, so much as jumping on it until the pieces move in her favor. This also holds no more than maybe a 1/4 cup of tiny kibble, so it’s really not for meals. I’m hand feeding her the first half and then putting the other half in the puzzle, which she is able to finish in about 3 minutes. My adult Aussie is quite patient and is more likely to *solve* the puzzle, so I think I’ll have her try it next. This puzzle has 11 screws on the back, and the base is hard plastic, so it appears fairly durable. I did “risk” putting on the top rack of the dishwasher. It did fine on a light setting and showed no signs of warping/melting or discoloration. Water was trapped inside the base, so I left it to air dry fully on a drying mat before using. In the long run, I don’t think we’ll ultimately get too much use out of this puzzle, now knowing how my puppy interacts with it and because it doesn’t hold much volume.

  4. Good Stimulation. This is the first puzzle toy I have purchased. For the price I am not disappointed. At first I didn’t think my pit mix would get it but after just a few minutes she started to see the parts moving and reveal treats. I have been rotating this puzzle in for morning/evening feedings, treat sessions, or to keep her busy for a bit while I leave the house. Obviously this only lasts about 10 minutes if I fill it with kibble. But she likes it alot. She doesn’t much care for the squeak button, but it does draw her attention. I have used this indoors on tile floor, place on her feeder mat, and also placed on concrete porch. It’s holding just fine. My pup is about 55 lbs. and she bites and paws and jumps a bot on this toy to get her food, but it hasn’t done any damage to it. With lots of slobber and different foods being placed on this you will probably want to clean it fairly often and dishwasher works conveniently. Only have two things that this puzzle could improve upon. (1) Have a bit more variety for the puzzle pieces to move (this puzzle has 3 puzzle movements). (2) It would be great if some of the treat holes were larger to place a greater variety of treats. With this toy I mainly stick to dry foods. My dog has this one pretty well figured out, though she still has to work for the treat. I will be looking for something more challenging next.

  5. Love – worth the money. Doesn’t last long as a puzzle and becomes a treat dispenser. However, a treat dispenser is nice as a reward which mine loves. Shocking and kinda freaky to realize how smart your dog is… despite the great fear he/she may have of grocery bags 🤷‍♀️.Keep an eye on your dog first (or maybe first few) times. Initially Gus picked it up and smacked it on the floor to get the treats out. Or maybe dog might try to chew the plastic off or something weird – all dogs are different and special in their own way 😂 Mine can unlock /open doors and get head stuck under the couch chasing a ball… ridiculously intelligent and dumb as a box rocks.** Be sure to get the small training treats or equivalent. If treat gets stuck, you have an annoyed pup!Worth the money as a first puzzle. Once they get the gist of first puzzle, time to move to more advanced.

  6. My Dog Loves It. Just got a new dog and wanted to see how smart he was. He figured it out faster than I expected. While Willie figured it out quite easily, he still enjoys this puzzle when I pull it out to use every few days. I enjoy watching him concentrating on getting the rewards out. I don’t know who is entertained the most…me or the dog. Only have had it a short time but the tabs seem to be able to withstand his mouthing and pawing so I think it will last as long as it’s used with supervision.

Great for new puppies. I love this puzzle game. Chew proof, no pieces fall out. Easy enough to solve but hard enough to keep them busy.

  8. Perfect. My dog loves this!!! Perfect to keep him entertained and get treats! Durable, easy to use, and fun for the dog!

  9. Tough and Entertaining. Tough enough to withstand a medium dog with strong jaws chewing on it and trying to rip it apart. It keeps my dog entertained and using her brain for up to 20 minutes at a time. She is still learning how to do it, so she doesn’t always solve it. But it’s definitely getting her to use her brain, after she tries brute force.

  10. My dog loves all puzzles. My dog trainer recommended these puzzles for my highly intelligent puppy to help keep his mind busy. He loves them and cracks every puzzle I get for him immediately. It’s a fun way to occupy him and keep his mind sharp. This particular one is very easy for dogs to learn with.

  11. Keeps my African Grey parrot busy. I bought this for my African Grey to keep him stimulated. After just one demonstration of how the pieces slide, he was able to figure out all the puzzles pretty quickly. However, it keeps him busy (and quiet, lol). I like that it’s fairly durable and dishwasher safe.

Good for cats too. Cute, compact, and my cat loves it! However kibble can sometimes get stuck between the plastic pieces which can be hard to get out.

  13. Huge hit. I have two mini aussies. One is about 3 and the other 4months. Both sat and played with this for a while. The older figured it out faster than the puppy, but both enjoyed this and was very excited to find little hidden treasures (food and treats). This product does move around a good bit for older dogs, but very sustainable so far. Part of the fun was watching one dog take it from the other. My children and I loved watching both Aussies having fun and figuring things out. Great value, worth buying!!

  14. Complex puzzel. This is a favorite of my dog. This level 2 puzzle requires the dog to rotate the center section to allow the white ‘dog bone’ sections to slide and reveal the treat. There are no loose parts, and it washed up well. It cleans up in the dishwasher too. The only issue I encountered is the puzzle somewhat hard to load. I use dog food and if a bit too much kibble is used, the parts do not slide/rotate well. If the compartments were deeper, it would be much better by holding more food. Overall, it’s a favorite at dinner time.

  15. I LOVE This Thing. Easily one of the most fun things I have found on Amazon. My pup used to wolf his food down in less than 20 seconds. It took him a day or two to figure out how this works, but he’s mastered it now. We’ve been using it for a week, and it still keeps him from inhaling his food. It’s fun to fill it up, squeak the button in the middle like a dinner bell, and watch him figure it all out. 🙂

  16. Great toy. This is my dog favorite interactive toy he really enjoys it and it easy to clean and great quality

  17. Update – Great for step two. Update – This is the best training toy ever. I know it’s only step two, but it is so well made. My dog destroyed an expensive step four toy in two days. I can’t say enough good things about this well made dog puzzle. I’m going to buy another version of this toy from the same manufacturer. You can’t go wrong here folks.******My dog loves it. Ordered a step up and it’s a bit hard for my young pup plus he destroyed it in two days. This is perfect for him to play with while he develops his skill to proceed onto the level four puzzle (if I can find a well made one that isn’t easily destroyed like my last purchase).

  18. Great enrichment toy. Very happy with this product! Both of my dogs love it. It is challenging enough that it takes them a while to get all the food out so it keeps them from being bored and gives them something challenging to do. It has a mixture of easier compartments and more difficult compartments. At first, they really struggled to figure it out. Over time they got really good at it and could get the food out quickly, so I put it away for a couple months and then brought it out again.

  19. Ligament filament December 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Durable. We have had this toy for a while now and the toy has held up very well and operates smoothly. My dog loves solving it, and the option to place treats in different configurations provided a fun puzzle. It can be a bit noisy like plastic on plastic clacking, but that is dependent on the dogs excitability.

  20. He loves it. This puzzle toy is great for our 5-month old Aussie Shepherd puppy. Most compartments are easy to get to, but some are definitely more challenging and keep him occupied. I recommend it!
