Best thing to have in your kitchen. I have had one of the older food saver machines before and I loved it! Now I have one of the newer models and I am even more excited to use it. It is so easy to use and it is very convenient to store anything you can think of to seal in a bag for long term storage whether it be in the refrigerator or the freezer! We like to go to the store and buy family packs of meat and then when we get home we break it down and put everything in meal sized portions and put them in the freezer for long term or the fridge if we are going to use it in the next few days. I love to put a rack of ribs in a food saver bag and add my favorite marinade or seasoning before I seal the bag and then put it in the freezer until I am ready to use them. Talk about good flavor! I use the food saver for vegetables also. It keeps them fresh longer than a few days, try a week or two. Love this machine and will make sure to have one in my kitchen at all times!
Leaves a little air in the bag. Overall it works really well. I use it for packing our butchered meat to freeze. It does leave just a little air in the package but not enough to cause any freezer burn. We use regularly and it keeps up. I like that I can make the size we need.
Seals properly & ease of use. Love that you don’t have to line the bag up just so but instead the machine takes it in and adjusts the bag. This has all the features I wanted. Have used sealing machines since early 1970s and FoodSaver since 1995. Love it! I plan meals and save in one or two person meal packets. Works great for us as we have better things to do than cook every day. We batch cook so we can have homemade meals from the freezer anytime we want.
Bigger Isn’t Always Better. It’s a shame my prior model isn’t available. It was half the size and much simpler to understand. But this one will definitely serve my needs.
works great. i just bought my 4th one. it last me about 15 months before it dies… BUT in that time i vacuum a little over 5,000 bags. i use it everyday. i have a special need child and seal his food for the day individually to make it easier. plus all the bulk meats we buy and separate into servings. i would recommend this item!
