  1. Works well, but some bad design decisions. This works well, but be aware, the battery powered remote version has no way to plug it in, so by ordering battery version you’re committed. Also, no on/off switch which compounds the problem.Another issue: the ringtone/volume adjustments are somewhat badly designed. There are two sets of buttons on the remote. The bottom one, an up/down switch, moves through a bunch of different ringtones, and the other one rotates through no volume to full volume, in 4 steps. Unfotunately, it is really easy to touch the ringtone toggle and switch ringtones. Seems like you’d want to set it once and then not mess with it, so having such an easy to press button for this function encourages constant accidental changes. The other, more problematic issue is that there is not much choice at the lower sound levels- you have silent, sort of loud, pretty loud, and very loud. it would be better if there were more than 4 volume options, and therefore more choice at the bottom end of the volume scale. That being said, it works well, and is very helpful, and I’ve found that if you keep the remote face down on a piece of fabric, it muffles the sound somewhat, making a slightly lower lowest volume.

  5. Just what we needed. Great product. If you are taking care of an elderly person just what you need to let you know they are up and about.

  6. Grateful in Arlington, VA August 21, 2023 at 12:00 am

Very handy, but hard to set up. We have it in the hallway to detect parents getting up at night and wandering. Also have it set up to sound alarm if we are outside during the day and they are in bed. Alarm is perfect, but it is very hard to set up to link to the detector. We eventually got it, and not sure what ended up getting it to work. The great aspect is that remote alarm can be carried around the house to where you are.

Safety. We bought this to alarm when my 4 year old grandson was getting out of bed at night then getting into trouble. It worked really well

  8. Great for motion indication. I use this in a bathroom for a loved one that has some issues going potty and I MUST get up at night to help them. It’s easy to mount, range of motion detection is excellent and I can plug in the pager anywhere in the house; so far it’s worked when 30′-35′ away from the motion sensor.Read the directions for changing the tone and pairing between the sensor and pager. It’s easy but there are a few steps to ensure proper pairing.Only drawback is I wish it had at least two more lower volume settings.

  9. Life Saver for Someone you LOVE who has Dementia. The media could not be loaded. I write very, very few reviews; but I’m making an exception with this product. It actually works and works great. I highly recommend these simple alarms. I have four of them, all of which are the plug-in kind with batteries for the motion detector. My wife of 56+ years has late-stage Alzheimer’s disease. The first one I bought wakes me when my wife gets out of bed. Part of the reasoning for that is she broke her hip a couple years ago and had to have a total hip replacement. I don’t want her to fall again. The receiver (the plug-in part) is connected to a power strip which is fastened to the bed post with a couple of zip ties just above my head. That close to your head, it will just about wake the dead, which I need when I’m asleep. The power strip has a switch with a red light that I can easily turn off to silence the alarm. The red light lets me know it’s on with a glance, even in the dark. The battery operated motion detector (transmitter) is simply sitting on the carpet on her side, underneath the bed. I’ve had it a little over a year and only had to change the batteries one time, just recently. When they need replacing, the alarm sounds and stays on without motion, suggesting something is wrong. When I replaced the batteries it worked again, just like new.Since I bought the first alarm, I’ve purchased them three more times to give me peace of mind when my wife moves about the house. One is sitting on the floor beside the front door to let me know she’s there. They help me keep track of where she is, but by themselves, they’re not fail safe. I’ll explain later below…The picture with three receivers plugged into an outlet is in the hall just outside our bedroom door. The left receiver is for the indoor motion detector that sits on the floor just inside the front door. The one on the right is for the motion detector (transmitter) on the back porch. The middle receiver is for the exterior motion detector on the front porch just above the door. Each alarm each has up to 50 different alarm sounds that can be customized to help you distinguish which alarm is sounding. Some tunes are kind of ‘cheesy,’ but most of them are quite good. I chose a police siren for that one to distinguish it from the other two alarms which have similar, but not the same tunes. I can hear them from most areas in the house. The other two motion detectors are actually mounted to exterior walls: One, above the front door under a covered porch. The other is mounted on the exterior wall above the sliding glass doors on the back porch. Both of them are protected from rain by the porches. if you decide to buy one, you’ll notice that the included directions are not written very clearly. And, they’re written in tiny mice type. I wrote and rewrote them through much trial and error which I included below.I said earlier that these are not fail-safe devices. Because of that and the fact that my wife “escaped” several times before I had our home somewhat “dementia proofed”. I did this by adding another security device inside, near the top of the front door. I finally have some peace and a sense of security. There is also a picture of it on the inside of the front door. It’s also from Amazon (see link below), costs less than $15 including tax. It’s easily installed; it works great, and my wife cannot understand how to open it. It’s simple to open for normal people and would also make a good security device for people in apartments, etc. It can be installed on either a right-hand or a left-hand exterior door that swings inward like ours does in the picture. I think it’s a must have for a loved one with dementia that’s prone to wander or has “sundowners” symptoms that are prevalent with Alzheimer’s. I very highly recommend this product as a potential life saving device.Link for door security device —https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DR9CMGZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1Pairing the Receiver & TransmitterPlug the receiver into an electrical outlet and set the transmitter on the floor near the outlet pointed away from you so you can easily activate it in step 4 below…1. Make sure the Motion Detector Transmitter is ON and pointed away from you. (the smaller battery-operated unit)2. Set the Receiver ringtone by plugging it into an outlet and short pressing the lower button until you find the tune you prefer. Deciding which tune to use is the only hard part…3. To activate Pairing Mode, Press and HOLD the Receiver Volume (upper button) for 5 seconds until it sounds and the LED’s begin flashing.4. Complete Pairing by waving your hand in front of the motion detector within 5 seconds.5. When Pairing is successful the unit will activate the new Receiver ringtone whenever motion is detected by the Transmitter. (There is a 5 second delay between activations; but this can be changed to immediate within the Transmitter)

  12. It works. Dad has dementia. When he gets up for the bathroom while everyone is sleeping, I want to know so I can make sure he gets onto the toilet safely. I put the motion sensor pointed at an area he will walk by, and I plugged the receiver into an outlet in a room on the second floor. When he walks by the motion sensor downstairs, I get an alert sound from the receiver upstairs. Very simple, very easy. It has worked without issue so far. The range/signal strength of the motion sensor seems very solid. My only complaint has to do with volume and sound. 1) I can’t make the volume quiet enough. Even the lowest setting is a little too loud for my liking. 2) The available sounds, with the exception of a few, are really annoying and pointless. Also, once you start flipping through sounds, you have to continue through the entire selection, of which there are way too many, until you get back to the beginning again. 3) there is no way to quickly mute or turn off the receiver alert/sound with one touch or button. Instead, I remove the entire receiver from the outlet during the day and place it back into power before I go to sleep. Some sort of built-in timer, or bluetooth/wi-if connection built into the receiver and/or motion sensor and a mobile app could be really useful here.

  15. Life saver. My mom was caring for both of her parents that have dementia. Before my grandpa passed away he would constantly try to get out of bed and Mom would be sleeping and not know. We tried to get him one that goes around his waist that clips and he would rip it off and throw it. We purchased this and it saved her! Now she doesn’t have to be up worrying. If he’s out of bed she could go to sleep and it immediately notifies her if he tried to get up. He has passed away and now my granny is with her and it has worked perfect! It is super loud. You can hear it all the way across the house. It was very easy to set up as well! It gives the caregiver a lot of Peace knowing they are in the bed And not up walking around and falling with nobody knowing. It’s been a true lifesaver! Worth every penny.

  17. Must have Monitor for Elderly – Great alternative to a Bed alarm. Love this little monitor! My dad is 93 years old and it’s hard to know when he gets up as he is unsteady. I set this on a shelf on the wall and it rings as soon as he starts getting up and I can get to him in time. Flashes in the main part of our house and rings and has multiple choices to choose from. It’s very inexpensive compared to pricey, bed alarms, and it’s so easy to use.

  18. Works perfectly. This is perfect for if you have stubborn elderly that would not use the pager call button system that you got for them before.Easy to set up and worked out of the box, now when mom take one step away for her bed we know to be there to give assistance as she has fallen a number of times.

  19. Perfect Solution. We bought this alarm for our elderly dog. He is slower and doesn’t hear well. He also won’t signal you when he wants to go out to to potty because the doggie door is inaccessible during the winter when the patio door stays closed. He will go stand by the door so we often don’t know he is there resulting in him relieving himself on the rug by the door and other places. This adjustable alarm alerts us he is waiting and saves a lot of rug washing or floor mopping. LOVE THIS ALARM! Inexpensive but very effective.

  20. Quality. Sensor sensitivity. It works .
