JUST GET THE DANG THING!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. OK not to sound too cliché but I don’t write reviews like ever. OK now that’s out of the way let’s run it down. This stuff is a miracle. I heard about it, saw it, read reviews and hesitated I’ll admit. I was like putty….blech…I have mixed skin which if you know you know. It’s where your skin is dry in patches but then has the Exon oil run off flowing free in others. So yeah you need that moisturizer, but guess what buddy you’re welcoming the pimple band to play all day in return. Oh your skin is oily, well that made for oily skin product is gonna get cakey in an hour and you’re gonna have dry cracked scales like a serpent succubus. It’s a hard thing to balance out and the thought of something thick laying on my face before I put on makeup was a full stop “oh hell no” moment. However one of my friends swears by it and she always looks like she woke up with a damn snap chat filter stapled to her face so I figured what the hey its a cheap price and I’ve definitely spent way more trying to figure out how to work this face why not give it a whirl. WELL LET ME TELL YOU GOOD PEEPS. This stuff is amaze balls. It comes in a tub and looks thick or pasty but looks are deceiving in this tiny tub of angel kisses. When you touch it turns into a smooth and light texture almost like a gel lotion but it’s not. It goes on so smooth and you don’t need alot but has a consistency that allows you to layer/build as needed. I actually saw my pores disappear and my texture was velvety without feeling oily and/or sticky which I’ve found some primers made for mixed skin do. The color in the tub is a slight rose color but on your skin doesn’t leave a tinted pigment BUT DID even out some of my redness or discoloration caused by past acne ( the pimple band likes to leave its marks my friends). My foundation went on smoothly and I found I need to dab less to blend with the trusty blending egg then without this tub of magic. My makeup stayed on longer than all day in perfect condition. No lie. I work in a medical setting AND then bartend at night and apart from my dead inside eyes when I looked in the mirror my makeup was damn flawless. Trust me when I say to you just get the dang thing. For this price and the amount you get it’s well worth it.

Really Enjoyable. I am seriously enjoying this E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer. This is the first primer I’ve used on a daily basis, and I’m so glad I got it. It’s nice and hydrating and easy to blend into my skin. (I use the E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer Brush to apply.) Once blended – which is super easy using the brush I mentioned – my makeup sticks to my face incredibly well. I can go about life without worrying about when my makeup will come off because it doesn’t come off until I remove it at the end of the day.This would also likely work as a primer for the eyes, but I use Urban Decay’s anti-aging primer for my eye makeup. (A girl can use all the help she can get!) I love that this E.L.F. product doesn’t leave my makeup looking cakey or anything other than freshly applied. I don’t need to reapply anything throughout the day – this is from the girl who used to have to refresh powder several times a day. As I just turned 50 a couple of weeks ago, I am getting serious about skincare and makeup for the first time in my life. This turned out to be a fantastic primer that I’m so glad I found. I purchased several other primers simultaneously, but this is the one I consistently reach for because I know it will perform well.
Smoothing, but can be drying. I like this primer a lot! When you put it on you can immediately see a smoothing effect. All I typically use on top is a tinted bb cream and some concealer. The primer helps hold and blend the top layers; however, I noticed if my skin is dry or I’m using powder the primer can cause the makeup to look a bit cakey and dry. The only other thing I don’t like is how the primer is in a dish that you scoop out of. I think I will try the liquid poreless putty next because it solves many of my issues with just the poreless putty.
It’s okay. I bought this because my daughter is learning about different tricks in putting on make-up. I personally don’t like using liquid foundations, but once in a while, I do try them. This putty primer is not grabbing me like some of the other reviews. For me, it’s just okay. Basically, “if nothing else is around to use, then this will do” kind of thing. It spreads out fine, I suppose. I don’t find it as smooth as I would have liked. But for the price, it is a good deal compared to many other more expensive primers out there.
Cheap but I don’t get the appeal. This poreless primer did nothing for my pores. Nothing. At least it was inexpensive and a little goes a long way. But if you have visible pores you’ll try anything. I guess it works for some people.
First Time Trying. Normally I use ELF Poreless Primer, but saw this. It does cover large pores a bit better. Both types help with makeup going on smoothly and lasting through the day. I do use a mini spatula (ice cream tasting spoon) to get the product out of the jar. The advantage of it being in a jar is you can see how much you have left vs the pump bottle that the Poreless Primer comes in. I’m definitely glad I tried this!
Two Thumbs Up. I have very dry skin (I live in Arizona, which doesn’t help). Finding a good primer for my textured, patchy skin, has been challenging. I even purchased my all-time favorite, LeBase by Lancome, and it didn’t work. I decided to try Elf’s putty primer after reading reviews. I’m so glad I did! I love this primer! It smooths the skin and makes my makeup last. Even my husband commented that my skin looks smoother. I’ve been pairing it with Ciele skin tint, which makes my skin look nice and natural. Even better, this primer is so affordable. I’m becoming a big fan of Elf products. They are just as good, if not better, than high-end cosmetic products.
Works well. This is the first time I have tried a primer in a “putty” form. I have to say, for an e.l.f product, this is a really great product. If you use this with a pad, it’s just too much. I have been using this with a little primer brush and it works really well. I now have this on my subscribe and save. For the price, it’s a great product. I just wish this came in a larger size.

The product you didn’t know you need. I bought this on a whim and don’t know how I wore makeup without it! It absolutely hides my large pores. It also dulls the red in my cheeks due to rosacea. It wears all day. It is my must have make up item.
Unexpected happiness from this. I’m really glad I ordered this primer. It was a good thing to bet on, especially since I love most of their products anyways. This primer is smooth and goes a long way so the small packaging shouldn’t alarm you. As long as you apply it on your most troublesome areas where your skin maybe has the most texture and let it dry before applying the rest of your routine-you are golden! I even use moisturizer before the primer and it doesn’t change how it works, if anything, I recommend it.Overall great buy!
This feels wonderful on my skin. I just started using this a month ago. It feels amazing on my skin and makes putting on foundation a breeze. I use a tinted moisturizer foundation, and I am not having to use as much foundation when I use the primer putty first.
Just ok. I wasn’t impressed. No different then any other primer. Really didn’t do anything great for me.
Goes on light and prepares skin for your make-up. I would have liked for E.L.F to have provided the product with the brush they want you to use. I had to purchase separately after receiving the product. The brush is effective in using the product much better than trying to use your fingers. The brush helps it to go on smoother and more even. After all that, I like the product for helping my powder foundation to last. I also brush it on my eyelids prior to powder eyeshadow. Doesn’t feel heavy on my skin.

Sorcery in a tub – this stuff is amazing. Whatever magic E.L.F. Used to create this stuff is amazing – it’s super light and smooths over your skin beautifully. When you add a BB cream, foundation or even go bare-faced, it looks like a Snapchat filter on your skin. It somehow smooths and evens the texture and balances the shades of facial skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, especially at the eyes and around the mouth, and the look lasts all day. My go-to routine is a quick one: vitamin c serum, Olay retinol moisturizer, E.L.F. putty (allow all to dry for about a minute), Olay 7-in1 BB cream (amazing stuff!), Cover girl lip stain in Admire, L’Oreal Telescopic mascara, E.L.F. blush, and a swipe of lip gloss. Makeup lasts all day with the exception of a touch up of gloss. I’m sold and so glad I heard about and tried this product!
Feels Great But No Coverage For These Pores. I saw an ad for another brand of this putty that is 4 x the price, but since I’ve never tried this type of product, I ordered this one simply because of the price. It is very light and supple, but unfortunately, it didn’t hide my pores. I’m almost 52 years old, and I’ve always had larger pores only in my cheek area. Was hoping for a successful hail Mary in this product. Perhaps I didn’t use enough or maybe it’s just not thick enough to make the difference. I will try another brand for comparison.
