If you like Popcorn. If you like popcorn, I think that you will like this Quisinart Microwave Popcorn Popper. I was doing the regular packaged microwave popcorn for a while. But that gets expensive, and who knows what the butter flavor stuff is made of… Then, I tried a air popper, and I had popcorn everywhere. Plus there is the set-up and tear down of all of the equipment… it just takes a while, which is tough when you are craving popcorn now! So, my cousin about this Quisinart popper. You just put the popcorn kernels in the bowl, put the lid on it, and throw it in the microwave for about two and a half minutes, and the popcorn is ready. Of course you you can put some butter in a little bowl to melt for the last 20 seconds or so, and then add a little salt, and that works too. It just depends how big your popcorn craving is. Anyway, this is a great device for making popcorn quick and easy. It is one bowl, one lid (unless you do the butter thing). It cleans up quick and easy. When you go to put it away, it folds up nice and flat I’m thinking about getting one of these to throw in my suitcase when I travel. It saves you money, because you can buy just regular cheap popcorn. It’s healthy, because you know exactly what you put in there (I come to enjoy just plain popcorn now). It doesn’t make a big mess, it easy to clean up. There is no set up or tear down. So, that’s why I say, “If you like popcorn…”
Practice makes almost perfect. We own the Presto PowerPop popcorn popper and it’s a fantastic product but I got tired of purchasing the little cardboard concentrator cups it requires so I went looking for something a little more straightforward and I chose this Cuisinart bowl after doing some research. I will say that without a doubt the Presto popper is superior in that it pretty much pops every kernel and almost never scorches even when you use olive oil but this one is convenient and practical and does a good job after a little practice. I can no longer use olive oil when I pop popcorn but I can use canola oil, I tried salting the corn before popping it but it also scorched so now I just pop the corn with the oil and then salt it afterward. I stop the microwave after 3 minutes because after that it will start to scorch and it does leave a few unpopped kernels but it’s negligible and just takes some getting used to after using our Presto for many years. It’s not perfect so if you’re looking for that go ahead and buy the Presto PowerPopper and load up on concentrator cups but this Cuisinart popper is good enough with a little practice.
Mmmmmm … POPCORN. Best microwave popper yet! And I’ve gone thru quite a few over the years. Air poppers, stove poppers. microwave poppers with a very small base.First batch – tried using the Popcorn sensor on my M-wave – had to add time to it — burned it. No worries – try again. Next batch – “read” the “instructions” and perfection. (For those reviews that burnt the first batch and then threw it away – don’t merit a negative reaction – they didn’t even try).I used a spritz of Pam-spray and 2 shot-glasses of kernels and followed the 3-minute – 5-cup (after popped) instructions. Also, very few un-popped kernels. I have a large microwave – around 1000/1200 watt. May need to adjust if you have a smaller nuker. Don’t give up – it takes a bit of honing to get in your popcorn groove.Photos were taken after I munched a few handfuls.Instruction booklet also has a few topping recipes. White handles are quite rigid and cool to touch. Base is sturdy with fairly large base. Careful with the lid when removing — hot steam pours out – lift facing away from you. EZ PZ to fold flat and store. Also easy to clean. If the pricing and availability stays stable, I wall purchase a few more of these for gifts.
Works great. I had to get a new popcorn maker as my hard bowl style I’ve had for 10+ years was getting old and the lid no longer stayed on so popcorn kernels got everywhere in the microwave. This one has a nice fitting lid so no more popcorn mess. Contrary to some posts I’ve seen, you can put oil/butter in the bowl before popping. I believe the confusion is in the details. It says you DON’T HAVE TO use oil. It didn’t say you can’t use oil. Anyway, I have made a half dozen batches now and am very pleased.
Perfect. I love this thing. I’ve always been a fan of old fashioned popcorn made in a pot on the stove. I can add all the same ingredients and my popcorn is better with less mess now from the microwave. I notice far fewer hulls in my popcorn since I started making it with this.
Microwave popper. Tested 3 different types of microwave popcorn poppers. This was the. best one
Good value for the price. My girlfriend loves popcorn, so she investigated this product and decided to try it. Does a great job at making popcorn. Much better than the popcorn in bags sold in supermarkets. I would recommend using only organic popcorn. Worth every penny.
Works great. Was skeptical of purchasing. Glad I did. Works great. Highly recommend.
Great Product. I’m very happy with this popcorn popper bowl. However, the instructions did not say the amount of kernels to place in the bowl and for how long. Googling it, I discovered I should use half a cup of kernels and microwave it for four minutes. Well… Turns out half a cup is too much. The popcorn overflowed it popped the lid off.On the positive side, it popped almost every single colonel! Only 15 kernels out of the half cup of popcorn kernels were left on popped! Impressive! The product is well-made and I’m happy with it. I just wish the instructions included home much to put in and for how long.Next, I will try 1/3 cup of kernels and microwave it for three minutes 45 seconds.UPDATE: I looked at the pamphlet which had recipes. In the recipes I discovered “directions”.Use 1/3 cup of kernels and microwave for 4 minutes. However with my microwave 3 1/2 minutes was enough. Only 5 kernels remained unpopped. EXCELLENT! Great product, well made, easy to clean and store.
It works well, even though we don’t use it as instructed. We have a stir-popper that works great, but it’s a pain to clean, especially if we only want to make a small batch. So we bought this because the reviews were decent and we’ve had pretty good luck overall with Cuisinart over the years. It works well as instructed, but the popcorn comes out very dry, sorta like air-popped, which was completely as we expected. Instead, I use some coconut oil with the popcorn, cook it, and then add salt and additional flavorings, or whatever. We have a 16-yr old 950W Kenmore, so the instructions leave a lot of unpopped kernels … I’m still trying to find the best combination, but I’m currently using slightly less than 1/4 cup of corn for 4:30 and ending up with maybe 40-ish unpopped kernels (see pic). I don’t think I can go much longer than that without scorching, so I’m going to try some new popcorn and maybe different brands (this was Jiffy Pop white, but I bought it a while ago). It cleans easily by hand, and we’ve tossed it onto the top shelf of the dishwasher as well. Overall, I don’t see how it’s reasonable to blame the piece of silicone for the unpopped kernels, and it otherwise works as advertised, and we’re happy with it, so thus the 5 stars.

What A Cool Find. After searching through many reviews on various microwave popcorn vessels I decided on this one for the reviews. The fact that it is silicone, It collapses saving space in my cabinet were all deciding factors. I found it easy to use. All kernels of popcorn popped . I used 1 tsp oil and just a bit over 1/4 cup of popcorn with the microwave set for 4 minutes. But all microwaves vary so just watch it closely. All in all this is a great little microwave popper

This Is Crazy. This gizmo is brilliant. The red, silicone bowl collapses for easy storage.Brilliant. It’s diswasher safe. (apparently the llid requires hand washing, Not a big inconvenience), The bowl get very hot in the microwave–too hot to touch. This may help pop the popcorn,, or not. However, the lid and the white rim/handle does not get hot. Brilliant,I’ve seen “lewer than 5-star reviews” and I have no reason to think of giving it less than 5-stars. Storage? No, the collapsable bowl reduces the amount of space it uses by 85-90%. I’ve gone thorugh about 4 pounds of kernels and have had 1-3 unpopped kernels per 3 tbsp of popcorn. I’ve never burned corn because I use the “popcorn timer.” I wait until the last pop was a ten-count ago before opening the microwave door and taking out the popped corn. That’s about 2:50 for my microwave. The instructions are minimal, I’ll agree, but most of us can intuit how to use it, Why the lid is not diswasher-safe is a question for the designer.
Microwave popcorn popper. It collapses for easy to clean, white lid and popper out with wet papertiqel easy storage. It’s easy to clean, works well, the popcorn tastes great! Seems durable. Easy to use. I structions included in box.
