Informative and helpful in diabetes. When I was diagnosed as diabetic the nutritionist gave me a folder and xerox copies of an eating plan. So I glanced through it and meh. She also had the holier than thou attitude so I couldn’t wait to get out of her office. I found this book on Amazon and it is a lifesaver. Teaches food groups. Healthy and not so healthy. Calories. Which veggies to eat and how much. Which to avoid or limit quantities. So much information and so easy to read. Also easy to refer to in a hurry. Colorful. Shiny pages. This is what the nutritionists should be giving out to the newly diagnosed diabetics. And I think only 3+ dollars. Well worth it.
It’s okay. I was hoping this would of had more recipes in it. It basically tells you what to eat and avoid.
Good book about food lists for diabetes. This is a good book of food lists from authoritative sources, The American Diabetes Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. It contains a lot of helpful information for meal planning and for managing diabetes. The book does not contain specific guidelines for determining your daily food exchanges or calories. You are advised to meet with an RDN for that. Note that this book has many identical pages to “Choose Your Foods: Food Lists for Weight Management,” so if you have one book you might not want to get the other.
Easy to see and use. Very helpful for any diabetic. Easy to see and use.
Healthy Options A Better Lifestyle. I enjoy eating veggies for breakfast and want to keep my cholesterol down.
