Excellent camera what it’s designed for at an appropriate price point. I bought this camera as a means of replacing the camera on my smartphone. I personally hate smartphone cameras. Pictures might be okay, but when it comes to video – even the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired.I initially bought the new iPhone 11 (a $1500 purchase) for its video capabilities and triple cameras, but after a day-and-a-half I returned it.The cost of purchasing a pixel 3, coupled with this Canon g7x Mark 3 what’s cheaper than the iPhone, and the camera on this blows any smartphone camera out of the water.I bought this camera recognizing a lot of folks had issues with autofocus, and overheating.I’m not one to listen to what folks say so I figured I’ll see for myself. This camera performed wonderfully – if you know what you’re getting in terms of technological limitations. For the price I got…4K up to 10 minutes continuous (until you get the overheat symbol – after which you can switch down to 1080p) // I use this for vlogging. Personally, I believe if somebody has trouble communicating thoughts in under 10 minutes then perhaps they should take a moment and gather their thoughts before speaking, just saying.120 FPS slow motion, as well as 60 fps – which to be honest is brilliant. Yes, if you continuously play back 120fps, then you will get the overheat symbol. But if you shoot in bursts like it should be used then it shouldn’t be a problem.Microphone input for getting clean audio when vlogging!Time lapse video with manual controls! You have the ability to switch between Auto and manual.Wonderfully clear and articulating flippy screen. The autofocus works just fine, assuming you’re not pushing it to extremes. If you go from focusing directly in front of the lens, and then try to focus to Infinity while you’re stopped down to F 1.8 – then of course you’re going to have issues. – especially on a system that’s contrast based face detection.Use the autofocus like a normal human being that has some level of Competency with a camera and you’ll be just fine. The firmware update did help quite a bit in terms of making it faster. And, that’s pretty much all I need.Things I wish it did better would be the following..I wish the camera sensor had better dynamic range. The whites tend to be blown out, or if the whites are fully exposed in a bright area then the dark tend to be very dark. But, in comparison to cell phone images it’s more than good enough.I wish the custom ring on the lens could be map to focusing. If I could have manual focus and control using the ring instead of shutter or ISO – that would be awesome! And, if it had a cold shoe maybe on the side or the bottom. I have to buy a separate accessory bracket to get the cold shoe for my rode Wireless go microphone attachment.Other than that let’s understand what this camera is not. It’s not a Handycam. If you’re looking to record boring dance recitals for your kid or family members that run on for an hour and no one will watch anyway, this is not the camera for you. This is not a filmmaking camera. You’re not going to get all kinds of manual controls attached to every other dial with custom buttons, nor will you be able to record to a high-quality codec such as prores. This is the key difference between the Sony RX100 Mark 7 and this camera. The RX100 is basically a Sony a6400 in pocket size without an interchangeable lens. – but if I am looking for a filmmaking camera, I’m going to get a filmmaking camera – not an RX 100 (especially considering that camera goes for the same price as an a6400)I’ve been using this camera for over a month now and it has pretty much replaced any multimedia that my cell phone would do.I can transfer via Bluetooth any images I take right away. When it comes to transferring videos that I’ve shot onto my phone, I simply use an SD card dongle that I connect to my pixel 3 and literally just copy the files over.Do you want to see the stuff I’ve shot, and further review of this camera, YouTube search “belal Khan g7x” and you can see for yourself

I love it! Lots of features, easy to use, excellent pictures. I love this camera. It is so portable, very well made, and it takes incredible colorful pictures. If you have previously owned Canon products, it is so easy to use as the controls and user interface are uniform throughout their different cameras; this makes it easy to find the different settings and the learning curve is quick (my previous camera was a Canon PowerShot G9x). Most people that have given bad reviews have mainly complained about the focus when shooting video. I updated the camera with the last firmware from December 2019 and it seems to have resolved this issue. But I’ll be honest, I don’t shoot a lot of videos, I mainly use the camera to take pictures and for that I am very pleased with this great camera. I just took it on a two-month trip with my family and it’s great for capturing landscapes, indoor settings, macro shots, portraits, fast-action shots, etc. I just love playing with it and I am very impressed by the results. The battery lasts a long time too; I never had any issues with running out of battery, even on long days shooting. And after a day of shooting, it is so quick and easy to upload the photos to your phone through their app. Overall, it’s a great camera.

Great little point and shoot camera. I needed a point and shoot with some advanced features and this totally fit the bill. I have a full sized DSLR and a mirrorless camera and was looking for something I could put in my pocket or fanny pack and not lug around a bunch of gear all the time. I was thinking of purchasing a Ricoh GRIII but I just couldn’t see myself spending 1k for a camera with a built in prime lens (no zoom). This camera is really fast, touch screen functions are great, and image quality and color is fantastic. It’s pretty solid feeling in the hand, has a nice weight to it, and dials and buttons all feel great and have nice placement. Some reviews complain about battery life but I haven’t had any problems. I mainly shoot stills and an occasional video and the battery lasted all day. I’m from an older photography generation so coming home with 1200 pics is not something I do. I may shoot 30/50 stills per day so the battery lasts for almost 1 week. Battery life does suffer when shooting video but the videos look really good. If you’re just beginning with photography this camera has some features you might not need or want as of yet so save your money and downgrade a bit. Overall a good camera!

If coming from a DSLR, this will disappoint. For all those new to photography, this is a great camera and you will love it. I, however, have a long life of photography and was wanting to downsize from a lens camera; this didn’t do it for me. I like putting filters on my lens, and this does not allow that. I’m used to a longer zoom. I don’t especially shoot videos, but like shooting landscapes. This camera is made for vlogging, and I imagine it’s great for that.
Good 4K video, but need to switch mode. I upgrade to this one (G7 X Mark III) for 4K video, quite happy about the video quality. Only one complain that I have to switch the mode from still photo (AV) to video (4K), and then I need to switch back to AV again when I need take photo. For 1080 video, you don’t need to switch, just use red-dot button for video. Wish Canon allows users to re-assign button (this is pure software changes).
lovely quality :). i have been using it for quite some time now and it’s amazing. i love the quality of the pictures, videos, and overall the camera!
Love it. Love having a reliable camera to bring and take high quality photos without taking up phone space as I go.
Don’t get this if you get tired of sending your pictures to your friends. Every single one of my friends that has taken a picture with this camera has a new instagram post and changes their profile picture. Lol. Lost count of how many times people have asked me what camera do I use because it’s so good. Im so glad i bought it refurbished because it saved me lots of $$ and it works the exact same, no issues, and no signs of use either. If anything it makes me relieved when I dropped it on the ground by accident. Buy the silicone case protector!!Also idk if its the settings that i have that came with it but it makes everyone look so tan!
It’s not powerful enough to do blogging videos. As a point and shoot, it is remarkable, works better than other point n shoot. For video blogging, will overheat during long 4k recording, you will need something that is more powerful to do long videos. Short mini videos takes are great.

Point + shoot of my dreams. As a lifestyle and wedding photographer who works with professional gear but also a mother who wants to capture the day to day with my family the g7x is such a great camera higher quality point and shoot. Easy to use and navigate, one can transfers photos easy from camera to phone easily, great for on the go especially on your travels and love that it has capabilities to shoot in jpeg or raw too! Cannot recommend this camera enough for those in the market for a point and shoot!

Amazing. Perfect cam. Only thing is the lack of weather sealing. I took it to a trip to the caribbean and missed a couple of shots because it fogged up from the inside. Aside from that, I recommend.
100% worth it. i have wanted this camera for SO long and i absolutely love it. its very small so it can be taken anywhere with no issue, the flash on it is SUPER bright and i definitely recommend taking photos with the flash on whether its day time or night time. in my opinion it makes the photos look better. i was a little worried at first that photos of nature wouldn’t look as good as photos of people, but i was proven wrong. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CAMERA
