ALMOST PERFECT, but not quite. This fantastic little remote shutter switch works exactly as advertised. For selfies, it works from across a large room — up to at least 20 feet. I have not tested at longer distances. For candid shots, it is extremely easy to use, allowing me to focus my attention on the photo cropping in my iPhone’s screen, not having to worry about holding the phone in some special way so as to reach the shutter buttons while avoiding touching the screen or covering the lens. I do some table-top still shots with my iPhone mounted on a tripod while I concentrate on getting the lighting and positioning details just right. The remote is a great help with these situations, because it can be pressed from any position around the set table, and it avoids even the smallest camera movement caused by pressing the shutter button on the phone. The remote will start and stop video recordings, and it will activate burst shots when held down. Its being amazingly inexpensive makes this remote switch just about perfect, but not quite. My only complaint — what kept my rating from being 5 stars — is that the switch click is too loud. I like to shoot candid shots with groups of friends or at family gatherings. The remote allows me to be a little less intrusive with my phone camera pointing — can easily be done with one hand, instead of two — so that people remain more relaxed about the candid shots. I do not attempt to hide that fact that I am shooting, but just my aiming and clicking the camera can cause people to act self-conscious, and the remote switch helps. So what’s my only complaint? Now I can be in pictures with my kids! Video too!WHAT IS IN THE BOX: One approximately 2” by 1¼” light-weight plastic remote with two buttons plus a woven wrist strap. The larger button operates my iPhone 5 camera. There is a tiny on/off switch on the side. It requires a 3 volt disc battery to operate which is included.WHAT I LIKE: I can set up my phone camera to either take pictures or video and start (and stop for video) it from across the room.No one has to be left out of family (or friends) pictures. I can take pictures at a distance farther than even a selfie stick allows.I can set up the camera and wait until the kids forget it is there. The remote allows me to get better candid video and pictures.The remote is small and lightweight and easy to carry with me.The remote interacts simply and without issue with my cell phone camera.IF my kids leave their Bluetooth on and are using their cell phone cameras, I can mess with them by operating their cameras remotely. For this reason they will NOT be getting one of these.WHAT I DON’T LIKE: The remote feels pretty unsubstantial. (It feels hollow.) What A Great Little Piece Of Technology. I consider myself a bit of a techie, but I have to admit, I never thought about purchasing this until I was told I had to use my iPhone to secure photos for work purposes. I use gloves for working and, snapping a photo on my iPhone is not easy because the gloves I use don’t make a good connection with the touch screen. So, it would sometimes take me 3 or 4 attempts to secure the picture.So, I ordered this CamKix Bluetooth remote control. It works great! It paired up with my phone in seconds. Now, taking photos with my iPhone is a breeze and this is all because of this remote. When I am not taking photos, I simply turn it off and it disconnects. When I need to use it again, I turn it back on and the unit automatically pairs up again. Perfect.One con: These are made of plastic and they do, with heavy use, wear out and break down over time. I usually have to replace these every 4-6 months. Maybe a metal casing would be a good idea.ONE AND ONLY CON:These are made of plastic. I use them under pretty rough conditions, so they tend to get beat up pretty badly. After a few months, time to replace again. I wish someone would make one out of metal or some other material tougher than plastic.Now, the only “con” is that the unit is made of a thin plastic. I have banged it against a wall here and there and I am concerned it may stop working. My suggestion is that they make the body out of a metal or a harder plastic. Yes, that would up the price a little, but it would still be worth it and I know people would still buy it.Good luck!
Un control remoto estupendo para el móvil.La configuración del mismo es sencilla, ya que únicamente hay que sincronizarlo por Bluetooth con el móvil y el resto es completamente automático.En mi caso lo he probado con mi iPhone y desde entonces, los Selfies se han vuelto una tarea mucho más sencilla y, sobretodo, el resultado de la foto siempre es mucho mejor.No sólo porque puedes dejar el móvil a una distancia y hacer la foto, sino porque cuando simplemente coges el móvil con la mano, ya no tienes que estar buscando el botón en el móvil con la mano, lo que hace que las fotos salgan mucho mejor.Una gran compra que se ha vuelto imprescindible desde que lo compré.
Very affordable, easy to use. I thought this device would be appropriate for use with a smartphone affixed to a spotting scope mounted on a tripod for bird photography. It did exactly what I expected. When used, this device eliminates all of the jitters that could occur if done manually, no matter how gentle the touch. On my Android smartphone I could make use of a voice activated shutter release if I desired. Speaking loud enough to the device for a pic could also frighten off wildlife that I or someone else might be trying to get imagery of. I am quite satisfied with its performance. It has given me the ability to obtain some fantastic still and video images of my local hummingbirds.It was a no brainer getting the thing up and running almost immediately. I didn’t have any issues with the size of the unit or the size of its buttons. When used, the different sized button for the different type of device formats seems to be totally logical. You don’t have to look at the thing to use it. It’s a two button gizmo, you use one button or the other. I did notice however that the Os button would zoom in when being used with my Samsung/Android smartphone. I checked it out with Iphone 6,7 and it worked just fine. I did not check to see if the android button would zoom the Iphone camera though. I also checked it with A galaxy 8 and a LG running on android a few or more levels above what my Samsung is operating with. I am using the CamKix blue tooth shutter release on a Samsung Rugby Pro which is operating with Android 4.1.2. I know it’s only supposed to work from 4.2.2 and higher or so it was thought. I’m glad that I lucked out in that regard. Once again I am more than satisfied with this product. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to improve their smartphone/bluetooth camera photography.I tried to put this review on CamKix’s website nothing doing. I guess that’s why there’s only two reviews on their sight too. To bad for CamKix.

Easy, fast connection, affordable. I was looking for a device that would allow me to take pictures with my phone without actually touching my phone. My setup is a tripod-mounted spotting scope with a phone adapter. Because I’m taking video and pictures of wildlife mile(s) away, the force of gently touching my phone to take a picture is just enough to cause the entire scope to wiggle, making pictures and video terrible. I needed a device that would connect to my phone without having to plug it in or touch the screen. I also needed something compact and lightweight, as I usually travel light and will be hiking with my setup. This answered all my needs and was surprisingly easy to use.This product worked immediately out of the box. It came with a battery, and once I connected it to my phone via Bluetooth for the first time, I never had to again. After getting my scope setup, I simply had to turn this clicker on and it would automatically connect after 1-2 seconds. If the phone was in video mode, clicking the photo option would start or stop the video capture as well. I could stand 5-10 feet away from my phone and still connect; not sure about longer distances as I didn’t try it. I appreciated the wrist strap as it made me feel like I wasn’t going to drop it when taking pictures from cliffs, and I could tighten it so it staid firmly attached. The battery didn’t have any trouble although I was in a snowy, cold area. There’s really no need to complicate things with a pricey option- this is all that you should need at an affordable price.
Works at +50′ range. It works at standard Bluetooth range — not just 3′ as the answers stated or 30′ as the manual states. It takes a standard cr2032 battery. The “android” button didn’t work for my Pixel phone but the main “IOS” button did 🙃.This thing simply issues a volume up event to a device that is connected to it via Bluetooth. Assuming your device settings allow the volume key to trigger the camera shutter, it should work. If not, you may need to download yet another sketchy app from China. Not only does it work with my native Google camera app it also works with OpenCamera allowing advanced ops.Very good, despite the lack of online documentation, it works as well as hoped.
Soooo convenient and easy to use. I love this for a lil phot shoot! The only issue is that sometimes the button has to be pointed right at the camera if it’s far. Otherwise it’s perfect

It’s a real page turner. I bought this to turn the pages on forScore on an iPad Pro. There are 2 buttons – iOS and Android. For some reason, the Android button works in forScore, but the iOS button doesn’t. Not a big deal, and for less than $10, who cares. Now I can watch my wife nod when she’s playing the organ and turn the page without being in the way.

Cheap and does the job well. It was delivered very quickly, just over 24 hours. Fast to pair, has a shutoff toggle to save the battery, zero lag time in operation. Much better than the last one

Works with Snapchat. I specifically purchased this to be able to take hands free photos using Snapchat! And it works! I have another Bluetooth camera remote that came with my ring light tripod and it didn’t work with Snap! So it works great as it does what I need it to do! Paired very quickly with my iPhone 14 Pro!
Value for money product, I have to mention that it’s compatible with iOS and it’s works super fine.

Great for multiple shots! Works as described. Was easy to set up with my phone via Bluetooth and works just as described! I like having this for setting my phone up for photos to take multiples without a timer. It is compact and easy to carry around with you on a trip! My only issue is when it’s connected via Bluetooth my iPhone keyboard doesn’t show up when trying to type in apps like safari so I have to disconnect Bluetooth to be able to type.
Great Device! A couple of things that took me a while to figure out. Why did you pick this product vs others?:Exactly what I was looking for. I may be exceptionally stupid, but the instructions for this thing were not that clear to me. So, to help the next person1) There wasn’t a pdf of the instructions available on Amazon, but I Googled “CamKix Camera Shutter Remote Control” and a couple of links down is something that has “FDIC” in the link that turned out to be a pdf of the instructions2) On the right side of the device (when you are looking at the two push buttons) is a small “on” switch. Click it up and the blue LED light turns on. If you wait a couple of seconds, the LED starts to flash, which means the device is in “pairing” mode. Then you can pair it to your phone or camera using the phone or camera’s pairing instructions.3) The battery compartment is on the back. It’s the small circle. To open it, you just put your thumb or finger on the circle (it’s a little slippery) and push up. It’ll click loose and then slide up. Your battery is underneath.
