  1. An honest review with chronological order of events :). I bought this in hopes of helping my hair feel softer and more manageable. Lately I don’t feel like doing much to my hair, especially ever since i got a Keratin treatment back in July 5th this year, I learned what it is like to wash your hair and just let it be and it turns out soft and great. Now this treatment I got in July has worn off, and I didnt feel like spending the $145 I did at the salon. So I decided to give this Kerason a go and see what would happen. The following is the chronological order I personally took. (Keep in mind if you have plenty of time in one free day, you could actually do it start to finish within 4.5 hours to be safe.) December 17th 2019:-Received treatment via mail——Applied using instructions:———Washed 2x, with the #1 bottle, then rinsed well, blow dryed up to 80%.. (I ended up drying it too much without thinking and so decided to comb my hair with a wet brush, and that did the trick to get it semi wet again..)-I sectioned my hair in 8 sections cause I have too much hair and it seemed better to manage.)- Then to apply #2 bottle which is the actual treatment, i realized it was only 2 oz and just not enough for the amount of hair I have and length… Not enough to actually saturate the hair completely/comfortably as they do in the salon.- I panicked, and so I thought for a second and made the decision to add a bit of water to the treatment and i mixed it well, the consistency went to a bit more milky but thicker than milk.. (that helped me apply it better and i had enough for my whole head.) SIDE NOTE: The product smelled good, however every now and then i got small hints that would make me tear a bit, just a tiny bit though not nearly as bad as what some comments say, however I realize everyone is different and some gals might be allergic or more sensitive to certain things. ALSO I felt a bit of stinging in scalp in certain spots where it touched it.. but nothing horrible, kinda like when you dye your hair type of sensation.)- There was no wait time required so then, I drove to a friends house, so she could do the blow dry part..-My friend blow dried my hair, using ****COLD AIR **** as per instructions, and it toooook forever! You guys it takes so long when is cold air, but that’s what the paper said to do.) SIDE NOTE: the product did not smell at all…-She then flat ironed it (410 F), now as many times as the instructions called for, but like 3x per section of hair.- By then it was late at night, so i decided to sleep on it (even though the instructions say that it is not needed.)- I washed it next morning using WATER ONLY, then i added the #3 Bottle which is the mask, and i set a time for 5 minutes.- I then rinsed it well as instructed, and I let my hair air dry. December 19th 2019 (two days later)-I flat ironed it and BaAAAAAAAAMMM feels like chinese baby hair, I swear I am a different person… Hahahhahahahah………I will be posting updates/pictures with the dates, so you have a reference to my text, in regards to durability, and just to give you all a reference in time how long it might last and other… I hope this was helpful, I know how skeptical it can be when you want to but something to do miracles with but you don’t really have much information you can trust to make your decision with. So I took that job myself and now I am passing it to you 🙂 ….P.S.. Don’t feel afraid of asking questions about what I did.

  6. Worth it for the price. I’ve had about a dozen professional keratins so I am pretty confident with this process. This was my first at home attempt.I did get a haircut right before doing this, which I think helped a lot.I followed instructions to the best of my ability. My hair is fine but there’s a lot of it, and it took about 2.5 hours in total. My hair is wildly frizzy this time of year but I didn’t have the time to sit in a chair for 3+ hours and wanted to try this out. Things to note- you need gloves, a mask, fan and ventilated area with an open window. Once you finish step 1, be very careful with your hair when drying. Don’t yank or brush too hard, the hair is in a very fragile state at this point. The product (step 2) doesn’t seem too overbearing but it creeps up on you. Drying this probably takes the longest because you use cold air only. At first it felt like it would never dry. My hair seems a little frizzy and tacky but it did in fact fully dry. I recommend switching gloves or washing hands during this process if you have a lot of hair as the product builds up a lot and makes this more difficult. The flat ironing was more challenging than I thought. I was able to hit all sections but I definitely could have done a better job. Step 3 was easy. Right after I could immediately tell this worked in some fashion. I used a microfiber towel to squeeze out extra moisture then finger dried my hair, which I did in maybe 5 minutes. Result was super soft, shiny and very low/almost no frizz. It’s not perfectly straight but easily 90% better than it was. Is it pin straight? No. Is it 100% frizz free? No. But it looks pretty darn good! After the first wash following the treatment I did notice that some of the under layers are kinking a little though my hair is super curly underneath so not surprising. I’m assuming I didn’t hit those hard to reach areas well enough with the iron. Next time I’ll get help flat ironing that part (I will definitely try this again). Is it salon quality? Well no, but it was $40! Overall I recommend!Pros: done on my own time, very affordable, massive improvement to frizz, tons of shine, super soft.Cons: fumes are tough if not well ventilated, hard to hit the back/under layers enough times with flat iron, definitely won’t last as long as a professional job

  7. Mes cheveux sont super beaux mais ouff la senteur.. Jme suis brulé les yeux a le faire.. J’arrivais pas a me sauver de la senteur toxique.

  8. Excelent product amazing result. I wish I took a picture of my before and after but I was not really expecting that this product will exceed my expectation. My hair was thin, dull, dry and frizzy bec of hair dyes, heat from electric curlers and bleaching.I followed the instructions and it is very important that you do it in a well ventilated area. I did mine in the bathroom but with electric fan on and it helped. It took me 4hrs to finish the flat iron hair straightening portion bec I made sure I did not missed a single strand of my hair.I did not rinse it after applied treatment, I waited until the next morning then applied the hair mask (Don’t do it, I am not recommending that you do what I did. It’s my hair so its my choice. Lol)So yeah, very happy with the result. My hair look amazingly healthy and I will definetly order it again.4 stars bec I wanna know how long my hair stay gorgeous. Be back for updates.💕

  9. This works. I have curly, thick, course hair that is colored and highlighted. I live in Florida so it’s always a constant battle of the frizz. And the weather always wins. I used to get salon keratin treatments but 1) they are super expensive and 2) they don’t seem to last (which I found is more likely the result of how meticulous the stylist is with the application). I’ve only had one stylist who could really do a tremendous smoothing job on my hair but he retired during the pandemic. So I finally decided to give this a shot. The instructions in the kit vary a bit from what’s on this page, and I stuck with the kit closely. The smell isn’t too awful, but yes my eyes burned and watered for a good part of the process. The one size application was plenty for me – I have long thick hair well past my shoulders. The kit says to dry with cold air only. I spent an hour with my Dyson and I’m not sure it even moved the needle. I gave up and watched Outlander while letting my hair dry naturally. The instructions say to run a flat iron 6-12 times through small sections. I did it 12 times on each section. They were small but not ridiculously small sections. I was tired by this point and hoped that wouldn’t impact it (it didn’t). Then I did rinse my hair shortly after finishing the flat ironing. Usually when I get salon keratin, I left it in overnight as was recommended to me. But it didn’t make a difference with this product. My hair turned out super smooth and shiny, very easy to quickly blow dry or I can even let it air dry without looking like a Halloween witch. I did get it colored about a week later with no issues. It’s only been a few weeks but there’s no sign of it letting up, typically my hair would have already frizzes out after a salon treatment. I definitely recommend this product! I was able to do it myself, but it did take up most of my day (primarily for the drying part). It relaxed my hair a lot and I can no longer give it a curl with a brush during a blow out. I can curl or wave it with a curling iron still, and it holds fine during the day but goes back straight the next morning. I don’t use product other than heat protectant, so maybe it would last a bit longer if I did. (Normally, my hair would hold a curl for 2-3 days). If you’ve been on the fence like I was, give it a shot!

  11. Easy to use and great results. I have fine hair which probably made it easier to use. I had more than enough product (shoulder length hair) and it only took me about 1.5 hours start to finish. The results were great. Smooth, silky hair. The smell was strong but I opened all the windows and it was manageable. I watched a few videos on YouTube to make sure I was comfortable with the process.Easy to use, less expensive than the salon, didn’t have to provide a tip and great results. Cons include strong smell, I had to do the work myself.

  12. I am really satisfied with this keratin set. I followed step by step according to the instruction and my hair has been rally smooth and straight. I recommend everyone who has a freezy and damaged hair like me to try this.

  16. I have naturally curly, fuzzy, unruly thin hair that if air dried is a giant frizz ball despite leave in conditioner, anti frizz products smoothing oil and whatever other crap I have in my cupboard to try to take the mess. I’ve never left my hair natural, down and been seen in public. An ounce of humidity or start sweating and it’s a write off. Has to be flat ironed daily with a ton of product and I don’t know I’ve ever made it all day without having to tie it back at some point because it starts to shrink, curl and frizz badly. I followed the steps as written. When I air dried my hair, IT WAS STRAIGHT!!! Straight!!!!! No frizz, now crazy fuzzy curl. Honestly SHOCKED!!!! by how well this worked. It’s like someone else’s hair in my head. So thrilled that I’m back the next day after trying this and bought 2 more kits for fear I won’t have this product in my arsenal. I’d give it 10 stars if I could!!

  18. Amazing. The media could not be loaded. Long post but worth the read!I’ve done Kertain professionally for about 4 years. This time I wanted $ so decided do it at home. It was a very long process, maybe about 4 hours but so worth it.Now, I did not realize that it was only 2 ounces so for someone like me with very short hair it was perfect but I would’ve recommended for somebody that has hair that is longer than shoulder length or a lot of hair I was so scared that I was going to run out of product. Here are some steps that I’ve did and things that I’ve learned along the way.First thing I did was shampoo my hair with the pre-wash then I re applied and re washed and made sure to really clean the scalp (I have a silicone scalp scrubber tool) and this time left it on for five minutes before rinsing it off. You don’t apply any conditioner or anything after. Then I air dried my hair about 60% and blow dried the rest. Then I started putting the product on my roots going down and then combing each section to make sure that I’ve saturated the product. I wanted to be as precise as possible to make sure that I got everything.Make sure you wear gloves! This stuff is strong. You’ll have a residue on your hands and starts to feel weird.Once I finished, I blow dried my hair on a COOL setting into sections as well making sure that I got everything. Once your hair is dried it’s going to feel like you left conditioner in your hair. After you’re going to straighten it into tiny small sections and you’re going to iron on a HIGH setting about 6 to 8 strokes. Do not do it too much because then you’ll overprocess your hair and you don’t want to cause breakage. I would highly recommend that you have somebody to look at the back of your hair or have a mirror to make sure that everything is perfectly straight because once you rinse it whatever crease or imperfections it will stay until the keratin wears off this is coming from experience. Once you have your desired look, you’re going to rinse off with cool warmish water NO SHAMPOO NO CONDITIONER Use the treatment that they give you leave on for five minutes NO LEAVE IN CONDITIONER you can blow dry your hair since it was about 12 o’clock at night I was too tired to straighten it so I just blow dried it and then straightened it in the morning and voila! It’s perfect!Keep in mind that the fumes are very strong so I would recommend you doing this outside or open your windows especially when you straightened it it’s very strong. Again wear gloves and wash your hands after because I took my gloves off to blow dry and straighten my hair it left a weird residue. Also keepIn mind it’s going to lighten your hair so if you do want to dye your hair I would recommend you doing it after. And the after care I would just make sure they use sulfate no paraben no salty shampoos

  19. The best at-home Brazilian blowout. I usually never write product reviews but I felt compelled to for this one. I was the girl who would spend $250+ every 3 months for routine Brazilian blowouts at the salon to help tame frizz, speed up the blow drying process, and prevent frizz during times of humidity. I was tired of spending that amount and went to search at home products and came across this one. If you follow the detailed instructions, you will get an outcome JUST as good, if not better, than at the salon! For the reviews with low stars and complaints about the fumes— it’s the exact same when you go get it professionally done too. It’s no different, there has to be some reaction to apply the protective coating to your hair. Wearing a mask, applying in an open well ventilated room, and using a fan to blow the fumes away is also beneficial. I PROMISE this is worth it, if you’re on the fence— go for it!!!

  20. Buy this and start a vacation fund. WORKS AMAZING. I get my hair professionally straightened twice a year, typically opting for either a Brazilian Blowout or a Keratin Treatment. My last appointment took about three hours and cost $520, including the tip (SF Bay Area prices). Recently, I lost my job, so spending that kind of money wasn’t an option. My hair was way past due and looking very rough! I was desperate, so decided to risk it and try the DIY kits despite all the warnings I heard from stylists:”Do not do it at home. You will ruin your hair!””Your flat iron won’t get hot enough.””The product isn’t strong enough.””These treatments aren’t legally sold online.””It will only last a few weeks.”All not true and bad advice! I was worried my hair might break off or look fried, but I decided to go for it —and I’m so glad I did!!!My DIY hair experience is limited to a few disastrous bang cuts. I have thick blonde hair (about armpit length) with grown-out highlights. The top layer is mostly straight, but the underside is wavy and frizzy. Overall, my hair is pretty healthy.Time Commitment: The process took me about 4 hours. I have very thick hair, so 1.5 hours of that was spent blow-drying my hair; you are required to use cold air only.Fumes: The fumes were intense! No different than when at the salon but I had a cold and a sore throat, which made it worse. Once I turned on a fan and opened a window, I was fine. I highly recommend having a fan ready before starting.After-Smell: I was worried my hair would smell bad afterward, but it doesn’t have any noticeable odor.Product Usage: I purchased the smaller bottles and used all of the treatment (Step 2), 3/4 of the shampoo, and about half of the conditioner.Flat Iron Heat: My flat iron goes up to 450°F, which worked perfectly. After three passes with the iron, my hair was too hot to touch, so a thermal glove would have helped. When they mean 6-8 passes they mean it. I can tell where I only did a few passes.Supplies: You do not need a brush to apply #2. I found it much easier to put on with my fingers (wearing gloves). I also did not have a comb, which made it hard to separate into sections, and I think it would help my hands from getting burned by hot hair.Tips: Start applying the #2 on the section of hair that gives you the most issues to make sure you get that hair very saturated. Then, if you have leftover, go back and put on areas that cause you the most problems. Mine is the hair next to my neck; when I sweat, it curls up.Final Thoughts:I will not go back to the salon for this treatment ever!!! The results way exceeded my expectations! My hair is smooth, shiny, and straight—and it doesn’t look fried or damaged. The treatment has held up beautifully so far, proving the naysayers wrong. If I had known about this sooner, I could have saved so much money, and I would be planning an amazing Hawaiian Islands for the Holidays (and the humidity would not have made my hair a frizzy mess) Side note on the no job and forced to do DIY treatments: I also did the DIY eyelash perm and tint on myself. It was AMAZING. It looks so good! I will never have that done at a salon, either; next up, I might try and pull off highlighting my hair. So far 2 for 2……Look at me go!

  22. Buy goggles and gloves .. really. I recently paid a lot of money to have a Brazilian blowout done in a salon. I watched her do it. And I thought that looks easy enough. So when it came time to have it done again. I just purchased this kit for 1/10 the price I paid her. The instructions were very simple and easy to follow. It does tell you to wear gloves, but does not come with gloves. Thankfully I already had plenty of gloves. I read all the previous comments and tips in the reviews.I washed my hair with the shampoo. Let it dry Naturally. , later that night I got to work. Instantly I realized how little products they’re actually is of the keratin treatment. I had read someone else with long added a bit of water to theirs because it is rather thick already., so I took a chance and I dumped the product in a bowl and added half of that bottle of water to the mix. It worked beautifully, and I had just enough to finish my hair. Now to the adventure , For the love of all things. Do not try to do this process If you have cats puppies, toddlers or anyone else you care about in your home. I started out OK. My eyes were burning a little, but that had happened at the salon too, so I was not alarmed. After all it does have formaldehyde in it. The cats quickly realized I was doing something that they needed to be involved in. They came in, the smell hit them. They started dry heaving and yelling at me, and you’re also trying to get to the product at the same time. I had no idea what kind of effect This might have on two cats, but I certainly did not want to find out. I had my gloves on ready for battle And now I’m trying to wrestle cats without getting this product on them.I’m trying to get the cats out of the bathroom but they were relentless. I end up having to shut the door and now I am locked in a hot box of formaldehyde with the cats on the other side of the door, screaming, and scratching. I had tears running down my face, mostly from the formaldehyde, but partly from my frustrations at this point, I myself was gagging and running around the bathroom. Trying to out run The stench coming off of my hair burning my eyeballs. Let me just go ahead and tell you that you cannot out run it. Most people would’ve stopped at this point But I was halfway through the process, and had a cruise coming up so I had no choice, but to march on.. I finished applying the product as it said, and then got to Work blow drying it all while tears rolling down my face. My hair is very thick and blow drying it on cold did take quite a while. Once I got it Mostly dry, The smell did simmer down a little bit, although I still had burning tears rolling down my face. Next step I powered through my burning eyes to flat iron my hair. I opted for the 390° because I do have blonde hair and that is what the instructions said to do. Then I immediately jumped in the shower, thanking the stars above, that I could still see. i’ve then blow dried it and straightened it again, and it looked as good. If not better than it did when I left the salon. This picture is a couple days later, and I have not touched it since I did it. But my hair is soft and smooth As can be. If I had it to do all over again, I would wear a snorkel mask and do it somewhere that there is not cats. Otherwise, the process went smoothly.
