Best Sharpener Yet for the money. I work at an inner city school where all the teachers have to purchase their own sharpeners, so I have seen and experienced many different makes and model. I decided on this one because it was supposed to be very heavy duty with duel blades instead of the typical single blade, but at a very affordable price. When I first tried it at home it was the quietest, fastest, and smoothest pencil sharpener I had ever used period. From brand new to sharpened in about three seconds with a perfectly smooth and centered point. It has been working great in a high school math room for a few weeks now. It is so much quieter and faster than the one it replaced that I hardly notice students using it. Of course life cycle will be the ultimate deciding factor.Going on 5 months now and still holding up very well. I came back from a sick day and it wasn’t as quiet as before. There is a slight rough sound to the rotating blades that I’m guessing came from a student putting a pencil in backwards. But it still sharpens quickly and quieter than the other models I’ve had in the past and it’s doing much better for the time it’s been in use.Just a note for those reviews where people use colored pencils. Colored lead is sticky and will slowly build up on the blades. This not only dulls the blades but if there is enough build up it will stop working. You need to chip the gunk out occasionally, so I use an old sharpener for the occasional colored pencil rather than risking the 7 year manufacture limited (aren’t they always limited) warranty on this one.
Unstoppable hunger to sharpen pencils. I will admit I was a little put off by the size of this product. The picture makes it look much smaller than it really is. However, let me start by saying that we used to be one of those families with the little hand held sharpener, or maybe we would from time to time find ourselves with a battery powered one. Our children (8 and 5) have just come into both being prolific artists and schedulers. Now that we’ve moved passed crayons we find lists and stories, sketches and doodles all in their new favorite pencil.With the shear volume of content these two kids have started to create we could not keep up with small sharpeners. Pencils would be dull, broken or nubs. The kids would sharpen them until they were either 1 inch long or their fingers hurt. We’d often see just one side of the pencil sharp while the other remained protected by wood. And the shavings… Don’t allow me to start on the fact that though our two children understand the concept of sharpening your pencil over the trash can, they can never truly accomplish the dream. We would find shavings all over our floor, and when we had sharpeners with shaving tanks, they would inevitably come loose or come off when dropped, spilling shavings around our kitchen. At one point I was forced to just sharpen pencils with my razor cutter to just get a good point… NO MORE!!The Stanley Bostitch QuietSharp6 is a miracle worker. It sharpens pencils to a Katniss Everdeen razor arrow head tip every time! The shavings tank is HUGE and slides out, so as not to be dropped. The unit has suction cups on its base to keep it from moving while the kids press their pencils into it and you would think that the sound of all this grinding would be like the floor of some early 19th century industrialists mill factory, but instead it is quiet and quick. Before you are even remotely upset with the sound of its high power motor, it’s done! The best part, is that it doesn’t over sharpen, so the kids can not nub pencils in seconds like they used to. I would highly recommend this unit if you have a child (or more) that produces lists, sketches, stories and doodles at a rate that would make the NY Times jealous.. Once you have this unit you’ll never understand how or why you did things the “other way”.. I love this unit and FYI, it does colored pencils just as easily!Give someone in your life the power of use pencils again by sharpening pencils quickly and easily and not spending their time whittling like a wood carver, or twisting like they have a 33 inch screw that needs to go into a 40 inch piece of wood by hand..

Huge and powerful. This woodchipper is way too much pencil sharpener for my needs but would probably work well in a busy office or classroom. It came highly recommended to me by an artist friend. I needed it for colored pencils but what I really needed was to downsize it considerably. A one size sharpener would have been better for me. It’s very sturdy and well made but there are other sharpeners in this brand if you’re just looking for a small desk top sharpener. I wish I would have shopped around more. There are suction cups on the bottom that is a great feature. And luckily it has a stop feature that doesn’t let the sharpener eat your whole pencil. It sharpens in a split second but it’s a pretty noisy second. I knocked off a star because of how loud it is.
great for teacher gift. I did not try to use this pencil sharpener since I was donating it to one of the local teachers. This did thrill my heart to be able to give such a needed gift for one of our elementary teachers.

Stopped working after less than a week. Something metal inside of this came off when I took out canister to check why it wasn’t working. I bought in March, but saved for a new school year in my classroom. My return date is over. It worked wonderful the first few days.

It’s ver quiet and works great but it is much larger than expected. The pencil in the picture is for scale. It works great but was much larger than I thought it would be; that’s my fault for not carefully reading the product description. I’m sure it would be great for a classroom.
Big but good. I wish I had read the dimensions, this is much bigger then I expected. But it works well and it’s not as loud as some electrical pencil sharpeners. Had I read the size, I would have probably looked for something else but I’m happy with the purchase and plan to keep it.
Great for classrooms. I teach middle school science and we use a LOT of colored pencils every day. This sharpener is a little quieter than my old one, but it’s still pretty loud. Where it really shines is in how quickly it sharpens. It is so fast! I actually enjoy sharpening pencils during breaks because it is so quick and easy. It’s bulky, but doesn’t take up much more room than my old one since it’s mostly taller (rather than having a larger footprint). I expect this to last me some years. When it breaks, I will buy it again. 🙂
Electric pencil sharpener. Just what I needed! Heavy duty. Sharpens my colored pencils very fast to a needle sharp point which is important to me because I color very small spaces in mandalas drawings.
This will sharpen 6 sizes of pencils and holds well on the surface where it is placed. I use this sharpener for colored pencils for recreational art, and for regular #2 pencils. It has a large shavings cup which is very easy to remove, and it is fairly heavy on the desk, so it doesn’t jiggle when using it. I’ve had it for 2 years and can find no faults with it. I just bought two more, for my children’s families, for Christmas. The five-year-olds really like using it and will sharpen everything in sight, whether it needs it or not. I recommend this pencil sharpener.
It’s so fast. I was having pencil sharpener envy and our motorized sharpeners weren’t working well anyway so I ordered this. Pros: fast, reasonably quiet, sharpens a range of pencil diameters, sharpens pencil crayons without breaking them. Con: sometimes sharpens asymmetrically. I would give 4.5 stars if that were an option.
This is the pencil sharpener you want. This is the pencil sharpener you want. It does NOT stall, even on larger round pencils. My old sharpener would stall with a regular size pencil; if you pushed on the pencil even a little. Stall, stall, stall. How are you supposed to sharpen a pencil with a sharpener that doesn’t work. It was such a pain to try to sharpen a pencil. Not mention the time wasted when I have work to do and am just trying to get a simple pencil sharpened.This sharpener is such a pleasure. It is powerful. With dual cutters it provides a nice needle point every time. I use regular size and the larger round size in my shop. This sharpener does a perfect FAST job of both. Shavings container is large so I don’t have to keep emptying it all the time. The base of the sharpener is metal. Solid, very high quality feel overall. Cost was a bit more but worth every bit. No more wasted time.Now I can sharpen my pencil and get back to work. I highly recommend this sharpener.

Fast and Powerful. I am a teacher so need something heavy duty. This seems to fit the bill. It sharpens new pencils impressively fast. Well, I was impressed enough to write a review about it, so it is pretty good.
Read the Specs Before You Buy. Well first off, when I saw the box it came in I thought that suredly it all packaging. Nope! This thing is large enough to be nuclear powered! I am an artist and over the years I have had my fair share of pencil sharpeners for my colored pencils. But I have never, ever had one this large! This would be perfect in a school classroom or in an office setting. But for home use, it’s a little much. Needless to say the sharpening ability is off the charts, as is the ease of use. It also offers a myriad of different pencil sharpening ports, so you won’t be disappointed no matter your pencil size or shape!
Good quality. Fairly large size. Multiple sized holes, Great for all sharpening needs. Wife uses it to sharpen eyebrow pencils.
Works fine. Does exactly what it should. It is not quiet though. Other than that it sharpens all sizes and works great!
