Look no further for one of the best all-around noise cancelling headphones on the market. I’m really enjoying these headphones so far, even after trying AirPods Max and Sony XM4. The QC45 just feel more comfortable to me, which may vary by individual. If you check out the RTINGS comparison you’ll find the sound is actually better than the XM4 and they use scientific methods of comparison, not just throwing them on and making a judgement call. I agree that Bose should offer more customization to suit personal preference but that’s an easy thing to add later in a software update. Noise cancelling beats the XM4 in my opinion and perhaps tied or exceeds AirPods Max — tough to say. If you value comfort and plan to wear these for extending periods definitely consider this model. Don’t get a QC35 like some have said, no USB-C, older technology in general, and QC35 probably won’t get much software support going forward (being the old model).Update 01/11/2022: Still loving these headphones! I’ve taken them on several trips (including air travel) and they’ve performed very well. Battery life is long and they can simultaneously connect to multiple devices so you can pair them with a laptop, phone, tablet, etc without fiddling much with bluetooth settings. Noise cancellation makes the cabin noise in a plane much more tolerable and the controls with physical buttons are fantastic compared to both Sony and Apple competition. I have not tried the Bose NC700, but I am very particular to headphone comfort and design and I don’t believe I would find them as nice to wear for long durations. Mic quality seems to be great, I use them in meetings frequently and have listened to myself through the mic to test. It won’t compete with a standalone microphone, but nonetheless good for a wireless option.Update 07/14/2022: Since purchase Bose has added equalizer settings via a software update (to allow you to tweak the sound), eliminating one of my original complaints entirely. The Sony XM5 have also released. I can’t speak to how good the XM5 is, but know this — the XM5 is more expensive and no longer folds down to a compact form like the XM4 before it. Losing the ability to fold up automatically eliminates the XM5 from consideration for me personally. Traveling with the bulky case of the XM5 does not seem appealing.Update 11/16/2022: The headphones are still going strong! Over the past year I’ve been using these headphones almost every day. If you’re going to use these headphones for meetings be aware that the microphone quality over Bluetooth connection is not that great. The Sony XM5 will produce a better sounding mic, however, even that is not great due to the limitations of Bluetooth technology. I’ve also experienced some audio cutouts when connected to multiple devices at once — if you experience this I suggest disconnecting from all devices and connecting to only a single device at a time. Hopefully the next software update will completely fix this issue. In terms of future technology, I’m looking forward to Bluetooth LE Audio which should prove to be a big leap forward for Bluetooth devices in terms of streaming high fidelity mic and audio. Unfortunately, LE Audio will likely require new hardware so it may be quite some time before we can reap the benefits.
One Month of Use, No Complaints Whatsoever (Will Update in A Year). I did a lot of research looking into bluetooth headphones; as someone with hearing damage and is very picky about how their headphones rest on their ears, I knew I couldn’t settle. I bought various other pairs before trying Bose Quiet Comfort, such as KVIDIO (Not tight to head/sound leaking, bassy sound), Sennheiser 350BT (Pinched my ears, quieter than other sets, could hear myself in calls and couldn’t turn off in app), and Soundcore Q35 (Entirely different sound depending on the device and if plugged in, couldn’t listen to music and be in voice call at same time without plugging in), all of which had their dilemmas. I really wanted a nice pair of bluetooth headphones for cheap, but in my search I recognized that wasn’t possible, so I saved up what I had and thankfully snagged this on discount (bought for $180).The sound is absolutely immersive; my worries about these headphones was that the bass was going to be too heavy, as SONY bluetooth headphones and other sets in this price range are usually very bass heavy. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case with Quiet Comfort; it’s strong, but it doesn’t overpower. The mids and treble sound great too, and I can’t say I’ve had any issues with listening to music, calls with friends, etc, other than those friends having shoddy microphones (No problem though). The fit on this set is also solid; I have noticed in warmer weather that my ears get sweaty, but that’s to be expected with any headset that’s over-ear. My only note is that I noticed the inside of the headphones have molded to my ear. When I first got them, the meshy material with the L and R was flat, but now it’s slightly caved in. I’m not sure if it’s impacted anything, because I haven’t heard a difference in sound, and they don’t feel different. I will keep an eye on it for when I update this review. The controls are simple, a switch on button and three buttons to turn up, down, pause, and skip music (and if on mobile, to use your voice assistant) on the right cuff. On the left, the only button is the noise cancelling (two settings; aware and noise-cancel). I enjoy that this headset has two ports, one for charging, and another to plug them into the device to use instead of bluetooth. However, I will note to anyone that uses these headphones plugged in; when the set is in wired mode, it disables bluetooth, and when still on it sounds incredibly quiet. And, when turned off and plugged in, the EQ and Stereo Sound disable, so using the headphones without them being on is really rough. These doesn’t steer me away from using them though, as I mainly use them on and via bluetooth. I mean, to be honest, who uses bluetooth headphones with a wire anyway unless they’re dead?I’m also actually pretty impressed by the battery on these. They last me all day and night, and I plug them in when I sleep. They charge really fast, and I’ve only had two occasions of low battery, mainly due to me forgetting to charge em.Overall, my only worry onward is the deterioration, if there is any, and possible connection issues. Haven’t had those yet, and hopefully I won’t in a year.

My top 3 reasons for picking QC45s. I realize the QC45s have some slight shortcomings in certain areas but their strengths are why I chose them. I have watched so many reviews on the top N/C headphones it irritates my wife, but here is what you can learn from my OCD (hopefully). First the competition and why I didn’t select these.Airpod Max – Cost, weight and the stupid, stupid, stupid case.Sony XM4/XM5 – Bulky and didn’t want gesture controls (just my preference).Bose NC700 – Didn’t like the style and band adjustment, didn’t fold up small enough and gesture control. There are other headphones in the consumer space but these are the big players and my top 3 reasons for picking QC45s were,1. Space, these fold up into a small case, big, big plus. My main use will be for travel and I wanted the smallest footprint for my carryon.2. Noise cancelling, I tried and compared these to Sony and the NC700 at an electronic shop in an airport and I thought these were the best. This was before the XM5s, from reviews they might have a slight advantage but not significant.3. Comfort, all the reviews said the weight, clamping force, cabin pressure, cavity size and breathability were the best of any of the N/C top picks. Smart move by Bose to have another iteration of the QC35s, the comfort is unrivaled.I will use these mostly for travel, I had QC15s I bought for a wedding anniversary for my wife and I when we were flying for a cruise. They served us well, even bought a Bluetooth adapter for them, still working great and gave them to a family couple. That was 10 years ago, so another anniversary seemed like a reasonable purchase. The other players have features that surpass the QC45s, better sound, more bass, more adjustments but none of these were that important to me. For me comfort was very high on the list and I just like physical buttons and the sound is very good so no complaints there.UpdateComfort – After almost 1 month I can confirm the comfort of these headphones. My wife’s sleep schedule is different than mine so I have been using these connected to our Apple TV while she is sleeping. 2 or more hours with no fatigue, pain or any discomfort at all. As I stated in my original review, comfort was probably my top priority and I am so happy with them.Noise Cancelling – I give the noise cancelling 5 out of 5, absolutely amazing and no hissing or cabin pressure. Adjustable NC just isn’t that important to me, I just want it on or off. In this case it would be ambient, it would be nice to have the option to just turn NC off. Hoping a firmware will be coming to give that option but not a big deal.Sound – EQ’d the sound in the app and I am very happy with how they sound. I’m not a bass junkie or a audiophile but I like upper scale speakers (2 Sonos 5s in my living room for example) and these headphones do not disappoint.Battery – I haven’t measured the actual time but the claimed 24 hours seems pretty close and that is more than adequate.2nd UpdateMy adult daughter flew home for Christmas and she had replaced her Bose QC 25s that had stopped working with the Sony XM4s. So I got to spend some time with the XM4s, played with the app, listened to music, tried the noise cancelling and wore them for a while to test the comfort. I was very impressed, not surprising given the reputation of the XM4s but my personal opinion is the sound was very comparable to my Bose QC45s. I didn’t A/B switch the headphones but I have been listening to the QC45s for a couple of months now so that gave a good reference point. Noise cancelling of the XM4s was excellent, I still think the Bose have the edge but only a very slight advantage, it was cool to have the ability to turn off NC and get better battery life and still wish the Bose had this feature (still holding out hope a firmware will come to give this) but it isn’t a big disappointment for me. The comfort was again excellent, the ear cushions were super supple and gave a great seal. The Sony app had a lot more options than the Bose, if your an app nerd you could geek out on it, if your not it could seem complicated, for me I wouldn’t spend time in it so it’s not a significant advantage but that’s me. As I said in my original review adjustable NC isn’t something I would use so that feature isn’t for me but the Sony’s have it if you would like it.Summary of the XM4s from my perspective is they are comparable to the Bose in many ways, comfort, sound, noise cancelling, case size and better in some aspects like the app and the ability to turn NC off. It comes down to personal preferences and I like physical buttons but wow if you like the features of the Sony they are a top of the line headphones and you would love them. I still would choose the Bose but it was fun playing with the Sony XM4s.3rd UpdateThere were some references to wind noise with the QC45s in comments and reviews because the 45s don’t have the ability to turn off NC (if I remember correctly). I was letting the dog out the other day and had my QC45s on and there was a mild wind. Yes you do get wind noise, so if you are going to use headphones outside consider this. I don’t see this being an issue for me, guess only when I let the dog out, yeah first world problem. I keep mentioning the firmware update that could fix this (and added battery when not needed) with some hopes that a Bose rep will take notice (might have a better chance of winning the lottery) but for now this is a narrow circumstantial issue. For me it’s the comfort that trumps the advantages that the competition has over the QC45s.

If you’re considering buying the Bose QC45, you’re probably also considering the Sony 1000XM4 headphones too. They’re both priced about the same currently and are both getting great reviews.Yet I was torn between the two so I decided to buy both and keep the one I liked the most. At least that was the plan. The Sony XM4s have been a runaway success only recently replaced by the XM5 which are £100 more, so I left these out as they were just a bit more then I wanted to spen. Here’s what I liked and disliked about them both.Build quality and comfortThe Bose QC45 feel light in the hand and well made. However I did not like the exposed screws. The Sony XM4s are better sealed at the joints and feel better well built in the hand. The Sony is a fraction heavier but there’s nothing in it between the two.The ear pads are better on the Sony. They just feel more cushioned than the Bose. The Bose feel cheaper. I also noticed that the headband on the Sony is slightly more comfortable. I found the Bose headband would dig in to the top of my head slightly. You notice you’re wearing them after a while. The Sony cups feel they have more space in them for your ears. I felt my ears were touching the inside of the cups on the Bose.Noise cancelling/transparacy modeI like the way you can switch the Bose between transparent and noise cancelling. It’s just a single press of the button on the left cup. Simple. Both modes work brilliatly. I’ve used the transparency mode while walking so I can still hear some traffic, and the NC mode in my local noisy coffee shop. Both modes work very well. The call quality is excellent. The other person on the call could hear me very well during a walk outside on a rather windy day. No issues with calls.ControlsThe Bose has physical buttons for the volume controls and to pause play. The Sony has touch sensitive controls which are getting some bad reviews online. This is totally wrong in my opinion. The touch controls work very well on the Sony. I found with the Bose that when I wanted to adjust the volume, I had to place several fingures on the right cup before pressing down on the volume with my index finger. I found that otherwise the cup would slightly move from my ear which became anoying having to reposition it again for comfort. The Sony is just a one finger swipe and very easy to do without disturbing the cup position. The Bose buttons don’t feel that high quality. They don’t have that satisfiying click or feel. You get a nice satisfying confirmation sound when toggling the on/off button, again a phyical switch that does feel it will break at some point. You get a voice confirmation that you are connected and the battery power remaining. The Bose has a very old computer generated voice which is terrible. The Sony voice is much more modern and clear making the Sony feel more up to date. The Sony has a press and hold button to power on/off. This also gives you a confimation that your Bluetooth has connected.SoundSo the important stuff. I’ve played several tracks over and over on both headphones switching between the two and repeating the track. There are some differencs and it is all subjective.I found the Bose was clearer in the midrange and higher tones. I also felt there was a little more clarity in the words of the song then in the Sony. But the Sony came across more powerful lower down with base. You just feel the Sony has more capacity and power. The music sounds stronger. The Bose is very good but just lacks the real strong base of a track.AppI tried both with no EQ straight out of the box. When I adjusted the EQ on both, I got even stronger sound from both. The Sony still feels more punchy. The Bose is very good for podcasts, super clear and great noise cancelling. The EQ on the Bose is very simple with very little adjustments. The Sony is more comprehensive. The Sony has a much better App with more ajustments. It can even learn your regular locations and adjust the sound and NC accordingly. The Bose does none of this. The Sony has a great feature that pauses the music if you simply start to talk to someone. It also switches to transparent mode so you can hear them. Great when ordering a coffee! The Bose doesn’t do this. The Sony pauses the music if you lift the headphones off your head, resumes play when you place them back on. The Bose doesn’t do this. You can cover the right cup with your hand on the Sony to temparaliy switch to transparancy mode to listen to someone speak. The Bose doesn’t do this.ConclusionOverall, both headpones are brilliant in their own way and in isolation.I just feel I keep leaning over to the Sony for some reason. They just feel better quality, sound stronger and have better controls and features. They just feel more expensive.I feel you’re paying for the Bose branding and would truly price the Bose QC45 between £150-£200 max. The Sony on the other hand feel a bargain at £240 currently. Both have a nice small case yet the Sony case seems more thought out with better internals. The Sony case has a canvas feel, the Bose a hard shell feel. Both very protable in your bag.One final thought which has been overlooked by online reviewers. The Bose branding on the side of the cups stands out. This made me feel concious of wearing them while walking in the street letting others know I have a pair of expensive headphones on. The Sony are much more discreet and can be mistaken at a distance for their cheaper £50 headphones. I just felt more relaxed wearing the Sony out in public.Yet it felt the opposite while sitting in a coffee shop wearing the Bose. I felt good wearing a quality product and brand everyone knows. It’s a small thing but I noticed how it made me feel.I’m reluctant to return the Bose QC45s but between the two, I feel the Sony XM4s are just better.
Actually 4.5 Stars. These are a 5 out of 5 for wearing comfort and the ability to fold down small and fit in a small case. They are also a 5 for being lightweight for an active, noise cancelling headphone. Battery life also seems to be 5.The noise cancellation is a 4.5. Nothing comes close to the Apple Airpods Max in this respect. I use a very loud vacuum cleaner and these Bose reduce the noise I hear quite well, but not nearly as hushed as the Apple.I’d give the sound quality a 4. It’s very good, and I’m comparing the sound not only to other wireless Bluetooth headphones, but also to the best TOTL headphones costing 20 times what these cost, such as the TOTL Stax electrostatics. Among active noise cancelling bluetooth phones, the PSB M4U 9 reign supreme in sound quality, but are not nearly as comfortable and are much heavier and less compact. In quiet environments you can hear that the active electronics of these produce a bit of audible hiss through the earphones. This is not annoying or even audible at reasonable listening levels, however, so I don’t downgrade the sound for that. The sound quality is natural enough to satisfy me, especially for the price, and I’m picky about sound quality. These have fine bass. The midbass is just a tad excessive. The midrange is fine, very natural sounding. The upper two octaves are a bit down in level, but that is preferable to bright and screechy which so many headphones are.
AWESOME noise cancellation and comfort. These are PERFECT for loud airplanes, offices or when you just need to ignore those pesky kids. They are ultra comfortable and the sound quality is top notch. My only real complaint is that the bass could be deeper/richer. I’m not an audiophile though, so these work JUST fine for me.I use them to listen to music, audio books and to watch the occasional movie when the background is just a bit too loud for my ear buds or when I just need some extra quite. My wife may also use hers to drown out the sounds of my snoring at night…
99.5% Perfect headphone. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. The only con I have (and what stopped me from giving it 5 stars) is that I use these headphones for work and I am on Zoom calls almost all day, and those at work said my voice is a little distorted/high-pitched (compared to my beats). They said they could hear me fine, and the volume was great, but the quality just seemed “off”Some things I LOVE about these and honestly make it worth the price IMO:1. Noice canceling 10/10 OMG as someone with ADHD and easily overstimulated. The noise canceling on this is just amazing. Sometimes, I just walk around town with them on without music just to turn down the outside noise. Also, the easy button control to turn it off and on is so easy and great.2. Comfort 9.5/10 They go around my ear so my ear is not squished. they are not too tight, so I don’t get headaches (compared to my beats). However the over-the-head part is slightly too big, so they sit a little low on my head, but seriously so comfy.3. Audio 10/10 I am not a huge headphone snob but I have had a handful of different types/brands, and I REALLY enjoy the audio is really nice.4. I don’t know what to call this, but the ‘voice updates’ ? Basically, when you connect or disconnect and turn on/off noise canceling, it tells you instead of making a beep and you trying to figure out what the heck the beep meant. It’s hilarious hearing it try and pronounce device names, but I really like this feature.I haven’t had them long enough to really test the battery life, but I use them all day for work (and school after), and so far, the battery has lasted a few days, so I call that a win!
Literally one of my best purchases. I got these because they supposedly had decent noise canceling, and they were light weight. The noise cancelling is pretty good, and you can’t really hear much at all if you have music on, but you can still hear everything (just muffled) with no sound playing. Which is ideal for me, and something I really like about this product. They are also not that heavy, and don’t give me awful headaches like a lot of headphones do.The sound quality is also GREAT.The only downsides are that the mic is a little quiet, and you won’t be able to be heard over the phone on a windy day. And they aren’t super tight on my head, so they do fall off easy if you’re doing even light jogging. They also connect to your devices pretty quickly, especially if you use the same device over and over. The only problem is when someone decides to borrow them, and then it has to test that connection first the next time you pick them up. Even WORSE if they’re in the room because they will constantly connect to that device haha. That being said, I use these at my desk, and to walk to class all the time. The battery lasts ages (although it does take a little while to charge), and they’re super comfortable. The case also keeps them nicely packed, and they are much sturdier than they look. I usually just put them around my neck to leave the house, and honestly I have had no problems with that in terms of wear.I’ve had them for a little over a year now, and I use them just about every day, and they are showing ZERO signs of wear or tear. I would HIGHLY recommend these.

Vengo de tener unos beats studio 3 y beats studio pro. Sin duda estos son mejores en cálida de audio y comodidad. Los compre al 50% sin duda la mejor compra qué he echo. De ahora en adelante solo comprare BOSE. 😀
Best head phones. From the minute these headphones were placed I could immediately tell these are special. The quality of sound, the comfort of the head band and the soft cushion of the ear piece: heaven. I’m not a techie but I know what works for me and this definitely works! These came recommended by a techie therefore I know these are great but from a user standpoint these will be perfect for everyday use, traveling and anytime you want to listen to music and tune out the rest. The battery life is great and the case is perfect. The product warrants thus price I got on Black Friday. Connects to Blue tooth easily and is easy to set up and use. Highly recommend.

10/10 Would definitely buy again (on Black Friday). I use these headphones all of the time and have owned them for slightly over a year. They see daily use with multiple hours on end. Battery life is great. Earmuffs are still intact. The case seems pretty protective. Both noise canceling and aware mode work perfectly well. Noise canceling works so well that I can’t hear people talking to me unless they are extremely close to me.
O investimento valeu a pena!
True noise canceling and definitely worth the money. Used these headpones a few times and they are awesome!! The sound is amazing!! They have two modes, Quiet and Aware. Aware allows you to hear your surroundings while you have music playing, which is nice when you are out in public and need to be aware of your surroundings. Quiet mutes all surrounding noises. And Quiet works wonders!! I have been looking for true noise canceling headphones and these are best. I can’t hear Anything! Someone next to me had to actually yell almost at the top of their lungs before I finally heard them. Finally blissful quiet. I’m in heaven. Used the phone call feature and heard the other person fine. One issue i did find was that all of a sudden there was static noise in the right ear phone. It wasn’t interference or anything like that. I could still hear music, there was just loud static when it was on Aware. I troubleshooted and nothing helped – turned it on/off, disabled features, changes settings, turned off Bluetooth and multi point access, everything, nothing worked and I was still hearing static during Aware mode. Finally, not having anything else to lose, I took a page of age old advice from my parents/grandparents era and gave it the old tried and true light smack to the outside cover and it fixed itself. I can’t believe it actually worked! No more static. Go figure! So glad I didn’t have to return these.
