  1. Gracie LOVES Wilderness Salmon. As a veterinary technician I understand how important a lean body and healthy food is for dogs and cats. However, as someone on the lower end of the economic scale I also understand how difficult this can be to maintain. Sadly, just as in human food, lower cost correlates with an increase in fat storage. After ending years of rescue work, I now have only one cat. Although she was doing ok on Purina One, her weight could increase shockingly fast if we did not strictly track which family member fed her and when. As any cat owner knows, they love to eat!I decided to give the Blue Wilderness Salmon a try when presented with a no risk discount to sign up for subscribe and save. My cat is in love with this food! Like I said, she loves to eat but I had never seen her try to tear open a bag of food! Working in the veterinary field, I have seen, touched, and smelled the entire spectrum of cat food quality. Some of the worst food has a very pungent odor and very oily feel. This is the type that makes dogs eat cat poop, since they digest very little of it and poop the rest out. I saw an immediate difference in my cat. She eats when she should and stopped asking everyone for more between meals. In 20 years of owning cats, I have never had one bag of food last so long! I was on a 3 month delivery for an 11 lb bag, but would have 2-3 weeks of food left. Her weight has remained stable for a year (8.5lb), her bowel movements are regular, and stool is firm.I don’t know what was happening in 2018 with both the dog and cat food but I haven’t had any quality issues or health problems. Chicken formulas seemed to be the common denominator in most of the negative reviews for both dog and cat. I’ve always stayed away from these formulas for my dogs and cats anyway, due to potential skin allergies. I had mistakenly postponed a delivery by 2 months and had to buy a small bag from Target just last month; I saw, felt, and smelled no difference in the packaging or the food itself compared to my Amazon delivery. My cat also gave no indication that she thought the food was different between bags. Based on personal experience, I would whole-heartedly recommend the Wilderness Salmon formula. And although the cost is more up front, I have saved significantly by requiring fewer bags of food and less cat litter! Wish I had made the switch years ago.

  2. Great as treats and as food – softer fur. My cats REALLY love the greenies salmon treats, and they also were only eating the Hills science diet chicken cat food.I wanted to find a food that was more like their treats since it seemed like they weren’t really interested in their food anymore. When I compared the ingredients from the greenies to this food, it was a pretty similar breakdown, and also salmon flavored, so I bought a bag as a tester. When I first opened it I was disappointed in how tiny the shapes are – they are really small shapes for adult cats IMO but I was like, maybe the cats won’t mind.So I first mixed some of the food in with the greenies treats, and it took one cat a few days to eat it, but then he trusted it and started eating it as a treat without hesitation. My other cat ate it up right away!Anyhow the cats loved it so much in their treats and were still less interested in their regular food, even though it was obvious that they liked the big shapes and liked crunching on them. (One cat in particular likes to be petted while eating, and he’s always turn around and smile after crunching)So I decided to mix this salmon food into their chicken food, to help them eat more food and less treats. And it worked!! They were eating more regularly and when they wanted treats, their meows were much less desperate sounding. So for a month I kept testing out this salmon food vs greenies as a treat, and honestly they still love their greenies but they LOVE this food as a treat and will eat it plain now, without any greenies. In fact, they wanted to eat it so much I ran out of the salmon food, and had a week of lag time between my subscriptions and they were so impatient.Anyhow! The most interesting thing about this month testing period was: I started noticing mood differences in one of my cats.He used to be pretty cranky, or maybe just frustrated. He would act like he wanted to be pet, but if you pet more than just around his fur – like along his back – he started to get frustrated and flick his tail, then snap. I honestly thought it was his personality, and just tried to be more verbally friendly instead of petting him.His fur also looked beautiful, he is an immaculate groomer anyway, and it always kind of stood out away from his body and smelled so good – kindof like straw. Like a nice, dry, warm earthy smell. So as the month progressed with this food as treats etc, I noticed his mood changed and he seemed to want to snuggle more and get more pets.It started slowly, but it was definitely noticeable. And eventually I started to put it together, when I noticed he wasn’t smelling like straw anymore, and his fur was looking sleeker.!! I think he needed more oil I’m his diet, and I think his little furs and skin were just sensitive!!!Because now his fur is tremendously soft, and I can pet him for , maybe almost 5 minutes? And he doesn’t flick his tail anymore!! He seems so much happier too, just generally less agitated. So that’s the long story. What I’ve determined in this test is: the tiny shapes from Blue are perfect when mixed with the bigger shapes from the Hills brand. Both of my cats eat their food on their own now, and without hesitation. They still like treats time, but it’s much less demanding than before, and they don’t seem to mind if they only get treatsed 4 times a day. They LOVE this food on its own now, when I use it as treats, but they especially love it when just a couple of pieces of greenies are placed on top.I’m happy because now my subscriptions for all the products are in sync, and my mix ratio (pictured) is perfect for my cats and my budget.SUPER happy I found this food.Love you guys wanted to share the whole story because it’s so much more than just the food.

  5. Good food for inside and out. My cats fur changed quickly! Beautiful and that’s not even why I bought this. I need high protein for my Bengal and 6 other cats and this was an added bonus. They love it! Less vomiting too. They do vomit from this brand In chicken flavor, not the salmon though!Only downfall, this is expensive food and doesn’t come in a sealing bag. I would think they would like a science Hills does.

  6. Healty Cat. My 10 year old cat was eating the same food his entire life and would constantly throw up. I never thought it was his food making him sick but as soon as I switched him to this food he stopped completely. It’s more expensive but well worth the price and 1 bag lasts almost 2 months. I just wish it came in bigger bags.

  7. My cat’s coat shines with these ingredients. My cats seem to like the salmon Blue Buffalo the best. They’ve had different brands and even flavors of Blue Buffalo yet the salmon seems to work best for the digestive system as well as their coat.

  8. Great for weight control. …but expensive. Given the cost and quality of the food, it’s perfect for a household of 1-3 cats. The reduction in vet bills definitely counterbalances the cost. But, we have more than 3 cats indoors and five outdoor that we feed year ’round, so… We only buy for our reclusive overweight kitty who likes to be on her own… 🤗

  9. Top quality dry cat food. My cat loves this dry cat food. It is grain free and also has fruit and vegetables. My cat will not eat any other brand of food. 😺

  10. Judged by 3 Cats. My cats eat it but prefer other flavors. I stand by the Blue Buffalo Wilderness brand and only feed my cats this brand but “My Cats” prefer other flavors of Blue Buffalo Wilderness. Size to Price is great, Ingredients are healthy

  11. Excellent product. Tiny size of the kibbles are perfect.ingredients are healthy. No putrid cat food smell.must taste good as Bella won’t eat any other kibble.

  12. Cat’s favorite. Great quality ingredients. Keeps cats in excellent health and they love the taste. Don’t feed your animals junk food. The added cost of good food saves you on vet bills and adds to their longevity.

  13. Cats love it. My old male was picky for years and wound up on a can only diet. We got another kitten and wanted to introduce her to dry food as well. Our picky male loved it! First time in more years then I can count that he started eating dry food. The kitten of course loves it. She looks healthy and has no problems with taste or digesting it.

  14. cat food. good. product, everything as described

  15. Big hit. A big hit with my cats! They absolutely come running for this food. When they’ve eaten it for a long time, their coats are very silky smooth. I also find that they don’t seem to be as hungry as long because it’s such high-quality. A great value for the price. Highly recommend!

  17. Blue Buffalo Wilderness Natural High Protein Grain Free Salmon Dry. I wanted something with less ingredients or at least ingredients that I could pronounce for my cat. He is getting older and I want to make sure he is getting a cleaner diet so his body functions better. He loves this dry food. He didn’t give any problems when switching over. He eats every bit of it and even goes to the door where the food is kept and reaches up like he could open the door. So I would say he likes it.

  18. Good for the money 👍👍👍👍👍. My cat loves the salmon taste. Grain Free food has good protein. No diarrea from this food. Good value for the money. The only time he had diarrhea is when I put pushup moist treat on top. That I have not done again and no diarrea at all. 11 pound bag is a good size for the money you will pay.

  20. My cat loves this food. I got my products yesterday my cat food, I held my breath, I watched Angel my cat, go to the bowl sniff and start eating with enthusiasm. I opened a canned food today that I got from blue diamond, I held my breath, I watch my cat sniff the food, and she began to eat with much enthusiasm, a collective sigh of relief. No more feeding her that awful food full of chemical dies. Vomiting everywhere.. I haven’t seen any vomit, but it’s been one day.. thank you blue diamond.
