A dog food that seems to be better tham advertised. My coon hound puts a lot of stuff in her mouth, but seems exceptionally picky with dog food. The Blue Buffalo Basics was, and still is, a food she has not spit out. She no longer over-eats nor begs for human food. The food seems to satisfy, and her behaviors had more interest with play and exercise.

My dog likes it. I give her this food because of her food allergies and she likes it.
This is top quality dog food. My soft coated wheaten absolutely loves this dog food and it is one of the healthier dog foods on the market.
Was good. They changed the recipe to include turkey by-products which we all know is beaks and feet of the turkey. They advertised that they don’t put that crap in their dog food, but they have changed. As of August 2024 they now have. So, I no longer buy this product.

My small and fussy dogs eat this right up. I would really appreciate a loop-and-hook type closure at the top of the bag, like many other expensive and premium pet foods provide.

Blue Buffalo Basics Grain-Free Adult Dry Dog Food, Skin & Stomach Care, Turkey Recipe, 24-lb. Bag. This is the ONLY dog food that my 2 year old beagle has been able to tolerate. I adopted him at 4 months old and he had horrible digestive problems from day one. After much trial and error, bloodwork and allergy tests, he has so many allergies that I would never have thought to look. I bought at least 6-7 different brands/types before finding out why he wasn’t tolerating the food. He must have known because he didn’t even want to eat the food. A beagle not wanting to eat? Yes, there’s a problem. Found out that oatmeal and Beef are two of his biggest problems (plus like 10 additional ingredients). The ingredients in this Blue Buffalo Basics Grain-Free Adult Dry Dog Food, Skin & Stomach Care, Limited Ingredient Diet for Dogs, Turkey Recipe is EXACTLY as the name says. The ingredients ARE limited, ALL easy to pronounce and understand what it is, NO filler products and he LOVES the food. It is a little bit on the pricier side regarding size to price ratio but this is the best and only food that I have found for him and I’m incredibly grateful to have found it. If they ever discontinue this food, I’ll have a huge problem. Please do not discontinue this food!! It’s phenomenal quality and he actually loves it. He’s thriving and it makes me so happy.
