  1. Would buy this oven again as it has all the features I wanted. I had a specific list of features that I wanted in my oven and this model had them all. I also took a chance and purchased mine from the used category, but it was pretty much like new, and didn’t appear to be used at all. There were a couple of very slight dents on the top, but they were relatively unnoticeable unless you were looking for them at an angle. You can’t beat the price as it was 50% off the regular retail. It came with a tray and roasting drip pan, which was a plus since I won’t have to purchase them separately. It can be difficult to gauge the size of an item from looking at a picture even when they provide you the measurements. This is quite a large toaster convection oven, and is very roomy inside. Yet, it’s not very heavy so I can easily move it around. The front door drops down completely. It does not have one of those hinges that automatically close (retract). Personally, I love the digital readouts because they are easier for me to see and this one is larger than some of the others. I can’t comment on temperature accuracy at this time, but I ordered an oven thermometer so I can check the temperature to make sure it’s accurate. I didn’t buy this oven for cooking food although I may just buy another for the kitchen. I plan to use it for polymer clay crafts, and temperature accuracy is a must have. Nonetheless, it has to be better than my gas oven as I’m always fiddling with the dial to try at get it at the right temperature. I love having the timer and auto-shut-off feature because I get busy and forget. The one thing I didn’t like was a very short power cord. I’m not sure why they would do this, but the product manual stated that they made it shorter to prevent the cord from getting entangled or tripping over a longer cord. Not sure how someone could trip over it if it’s up ion a counter. If you are thinking about buying this oven you need to consider whether they have a space on the counter near an electrical outlet or use a heavy duty grounded extension. As mentioned by others the exterior does get very hot, but I had the same issue with my Delonghi Toaster Convection Oven so I’m used to protecting my hands, and keeping other items way from the oven when in use. I keep my oven mitts next to the oven to remind me to use them whenever I use the oven. The stainless steel exterior is quite nice looking, and has stylish curves. I think that the top of the oven will be subject to dents as the metal seem a little thin on top. I wouldn’t be putting things on top, which you shouldn’t anyway because of the heat issues. The crumb tray slides in underneath the door so you don’t have to open the oven to clean the tray. I haven’t quite decided whether this is good idea or not. The one thing that comes to mind if something is too large to fit through the crumb tray opening it could fall off on the oven floor. However I like having a removable crumb tray to keep the oven clean. There are four glass tube heating elements in this oven, and they are quite large compared to my Delonghi, which was four metal tubes not much thicker that my chopsticks in diameter. Price wise it made more sense to buy a toaster convection oven because it does so much more. The size of this oven allows you to cook just about anything. I can cook a casserole, roast a chicken, and bake as well. My daughter already baked her brownies, and they came out perfect. Overall, I love this oven, and would buy it again.

  2. toasts evenly, has a small footprint on the kitchen counter. This is my third Black & Decker toaster oven. The others have given me long years of service (starting in college), but have eventually broken down (not bad for something costing about thirty bucks, though). Anyway, I’ve been happy enough with their performance that I went back for this one.My husband uses this more than I do and he is thrilled with it. We keep a loaf of bread in the freezer (so it doesn’t grow mold) and my husband has been using this to thaw and toast bread for snacks like peanut butter toast after work. (We use Nature’s Own whole wheat bread, which is on the smaller side in terms of slice size, and we generally only put two slices in there at a time.) Two slices sit nicely in the middle of the rack with room in the front and back. And the toasting is perfect — not too much and not too little, and with no frozen or soggy parts in the middle of the bread. (We also use this with hamburger buns when we make veggie burgers — we keep those in the freezer too, and toast them to thaw/warm/improve the texture.) I think it helps that there are heating elements on the top and bottom — no flipping toast in the middle, which also shortens the toasting time.We are not trying to make pizzas or bake anything in here, we pretty much just use it as a toaster (we don’t have a pop-up toaster as we appreciate the versatility of an appliance like this that isn’t limited to flat slices of bread; we have also put bagels in here). And it is great at that. We sometimes also use this to reheat roasted vegetables that we are eating as leftovers; it heats up more quickly than the regular oven and doesn’t add to the overall temperature of the kitchen much, which is important in Georgia when it is in the high 70s and 80s.This *is* a metal box with heating elements, so it is going to get hot. We pull it out from under the cabinets when it is in use and we make sure there is nothing around it. Then we unplug it and let it cool before pushing it back into place. These are common sense safety precautions we’d practice for any toaster, of course. (We have never set any food on fire with this. If you do, unplug the toaster and let it cool — don’t open the door or you are providing oxygen to the fire, which will only make it burn longer. I would not suggest starting this and walking off, though. It is not a regular oven. You need to stay in the kitchen and look at it from time to time to make sure everything is OK.)This has a small footprint on the counter (much smaller than the convection ovens that seem to be taking up the toaster aisle at local big box stores) so you can still work in front of it. It has a nice brushed stainless finish (that doesn’t match our kitchen at all, but whatever — if you have stainless appliances, this will fit right in with them). The bottom tray is easy to remove for cleaning and you WILL get crumbs in there if you use this often. We do usually line the little pan with foil if we are going to use it, as this cuts down on cleanup. This has little rubber feet and doesn’t slide around on the counter and the cord, while relatively short, is a reasonable length for most kitchen counter arrangements.Overall, we are happy with this and would purchase the same one if we had it to do over again.

  3. Nice basic toaster oven. This is a nice, very basic toaster oven and for the low price, this is about what you should expect. It has a small footprint, so it works well in a small kitchen with limited counter space. That small footprint translates into a small oven cavity so forget about baking a cake in there. A couple of medium potatoes will fit fine (but see 3 below). The temperature control seems reasonably accurate.A few of negatives (again, consider the price): 1) non-adjustable rack; one position in the middle of the oven. 2) tiny markings on the dials; turn on the overhead kitchen lights and start squinting to see the markings. 3) that non-adjustable rack and small cavity size brings the top of the food very close to the upper heating element, so keep an eye on those large potatoes so they don’t burn on top. 4) the timer goes only to 30 minutes; not enough time to bake a potato. So keep an eye on it so you can crank the timer around again when it shuts off after 30 minutes. 5) the exterior does get quite hot, so give other things on your counter some clearance.Definitely not an all purpose do-it-all, but for the price a quite serviceable appliance to bake your potatoes, make some toast, toast an english muffin or bagel (use the broil setting) or bake some frozen french fries.

  4. never get used. Even though it was super cheap, I think getting it new is worth it. There is a dent in the top right front panel. Therefore the cooking inside is not uniform. For example, things in the back cook faster and burn. the power cord is short but that might be normal. the steel inside gets damaged if you clean too hard or something. so it looks rusted. I bought it years ago. So, maybe it is time to buy again.

  5. More complicated than it needs to be. It only toasts and bakes so why the need to adjust at least 2 dials for one function. Finally find a toast level you like. Too bad. Can’t leave it on that. That dial needs to be turned to bake or broil. Could have been designed much better. Overall the quality is ok for this price range.

  6. Not bad, but. Got this to replace the Black and Decker I bought 25 or 30 years ago that finally gave up the ghost. As well as knowing the old one had lasted so long, the small size of this is the main reason I picked it from the plethora of toaster ovens on Amazon. From the reviews upon reviews I read before deciding, I saw someone else pretty much did the same thing, and they, too, found their pans and racks from the old one did not fit in this one, by just a skosh. Really, B&D? The interior height is smaller than the old one, too, which means any food you actually try to cook in this can’t be as high.Another missing feature is the little hook on the door that pulled the rack out when you opened the door. That allowed you get at your food without sticking your hand into the toaster.Final negative is that heat isn’t even and the portion of toast in the back left corner gets much darker than the rest of it.However, it toasts our bread to the amount of doneness we like on the medium setting, which means it should be able to do a bagel really well, too. I like the timer feature, especially for things like frozen entrees. The dials are moderately readable, so that’s a good thing, too.Overall, I am happy with the purchase and think I found the right one for our small kitchen with limited counter space.

  7. Toasting time. Unlike a normal toaster you must watch toasting time and type of bread.

  8. Good basic toaster oven. This is a good basic toaster oven for 1 or 2 people. I was looking for a simple toaster oven without all the bells and whistles and without the air fryer . This actually toasts the best and most even of the last 3 I’ve had. I sure hope this lasts longer than the previous ones. That’s why I chose to purchase a basic model and hope without the other features this one will be more reliable. I would not recommend this for anyone with children as it get extremely hot to touch.

  9. Great all around with a few small bugs. I was looking for a easy to use unit that could hold a small cookie sheet and up to 9×13 pan. Basic setting and easy to clean. I did lots of research before choosing this. I admit this is not my go to brand however it surprised me in many ways. First surprisingly is the included pan. Thats right not the unit but the baking pan. Of every unit I looked up this ones pan is easy to clean, does not pop or bow, Its nonstick is surprising and durable. I would not use metal utensils but you could.Second is the knobs: This is the first minor ding to the unit, or lack there of. The top temp/feature nob works great, the second nob the timer/stay on is troublesome. Its stiff and hard to turn left to stay on mode, If you turn the timer right to a time and over shoot, its very hard to and not advised to turn the left. Its very resistant and lack of grip is a ding. O the Ding sound is light when it works so use your own timer if in always on modeWide load: As you read above I wanted wide. If you don’t want to bake as much narrow options may be better as I had to turn it sideways to fit counter. The Shark unit is wide but is very short so I went this way. It heats quick but the outer shell gets very hot so no touchy out side or keeping anything on top. The quartz heaters do work but I found actual toasting of bread and some broiling was uneven. It works but no prize of pretty. The light weight door is easy to use and clean. There is no heat gaskit around door so not good for super stinky cooks. outer stainless does show finger prints so no high fiveing the outside The fan in this model is ok but its not the full convection model available at the 120.00 price so don’t look to air fry. It does help but not much. Finally cooking. I through home made bread/cinnamon roles, boxed frozen goods, cookies, broiled stuff and all came out better than out dino age oven. For what I paid it does the trick. But if your a home baker or want air fry get the next step up.What I missed: No light, I thought no light was no big deal but it kinda is. Oven door seal, without it the unit loses some performance and can cause a smell if broiling stinkier items.

  10. Works great. I’ve had this toaster oven for about a month now and, after doing some scavenger hunting on the internet for instructions and a little trial and error, I think it’s going to pretty much replace my regular gas oven.Let me save you a little frustration as to the lack of instructions, especially pertaining to the convection feature. If you select the “Bake” setting, the convection feature is activated. There is no way to turn it off, which is actually fine. What I have discovered is, if I’m baking baked goods (cookies, muffins, etc) you need to decrease the baking temperature by 25 degrees or reduce the baking time by about 25 %, or both. If you reduce the temp, start checking for doneness about 3/4 of the way through the baking process. If I’m baking a casserole, which contains more liquids or the like(‘cream of’ soups, eggs, cheese, etc) I use the recommended temperature in the recipe and let it cook the full amount of time. I made a tuna noodle casserole last week and it was perfect using the recipe exactly as written.I haven’t used the broil feature for meat yet, so I don’t have a point of reference for that feature and, as I’m single and just make toast in a regular 2 slice toaster, I also don’t have a review for the toast feature (I don’t need 8 slices of toast at once.)What I LOVE about this oven is being able to use my regular pans! I had a smaller toaster oven before and got frustrated by having to buy special pans for it. I ended up buying a lot of disposable aluminum pans. With this oven, I can use all of my regular pans (I have several Pampered Chef ones that I wasn’t able to use in the old toaster oven) except for a couple of my larger baking stones. So far, everything has baked so much more evenly than in my full sized gas oven that I’m absolutely thrilled. So, as far as the way the oven functions and the results I’ve had when cooking with it, I am very satisfied with this oven. The only negative comment that I have about it is that the instructions are almost non-existent. An individual shouldn’t have to do 2 hours of research online and watch youtube videos to learn how to properly use this product. They really need to include an actual instruction manual, with a few recipes included for each feature of the oven, instead of a big sheet of pitiful basic instructions that are written in about a dozen different languages. I think that most of the negative reviews that I’ve seen could have been avoided if this were the case. Does the outside of the oven get hot? Yes, it’s a toaster oven, not an insulated range, so move it away from the wall. The crumb tray slides into the slots underneath the OUTSIDE of the oven, it doesn’t go inside and I believe this is the reason that so many people are saying it never gets hot enough. The convection feature comes on and stays on when baking, there’s no way to shut it off. All of this could should be explained in an actual instruction manual. My last comment pertains to the price. At $67 in November, this oven was a great value. Less than a month later, it’s $96!!!! Had it been this price originally, I’m not sure I would have purchased it.So, my review is A for the the oven itself, D for the lack of instructions and the $30 price hike just before Christmas.

  15. Had for 7 years so far. At the time of purchase, this was $54.It has been hands down the best toaster oven!! So much room, you can cook anything in it that you would put in a regular oven. There literally is nothing wrong with it, it’s great!!I am sad for the price hike, as someone damaged our unit and because of denting etc, the temp regulator is now off and sometimes making noise. Still works, but sometimes it does not (maybe loose wiring). I can’t afford a new one at the new pricetag, at this time. But it will be my choice again, when I am able.Thank you for making this unit, Black and Decker. Always good products, more affordable and reliable than others. Thank you for being a reputable brand still, in this day and age.

  16. Love the toaster oven..great substitute for the stove oven. Why heat up the house using the conventional oven when you only need a short cooking tine with this toaster oven. This large capacity toaster oven is easy to use and so worth it. I’ve been baking/toasting so many things now that i preciously threw in the microwave because I didn’t want to unload the skillets from my oven, then preheat it, then bake for 15 minutes. To me, it was a waste. The large size of the toaster oven takes up more counter space, but to put in a large baking dish it is worth it. Great buy. And toast is just like a regular toaster. Set the top knob on Toast and set the bottom knob to the color you want your toast to be. So simple.

  17. Perfect for small meals and Toast. I like it, it works great for making toast and small pizzas that I enjoy eating. The settings dials are super easy to understand as well. Shipping was fast as well. It can get hot during and after use so make sure it sits away from objects during use to avoid being burned to let it cool down. I’m very happy with this purchase.

  18. this item is well worth the counter space. manual dials are easy to use. I just set it at bake, 350, and leave those settings, just crank the timer up over ten minutes and back to 5 to warm things up. I got a better grade of stainless baking tray here , abt 14 bucks. As others have mentioned the unit gets hot if it’s on for a long time, but I allowed good space around it, and can warm up a plate on top so it’s fine. One thing worth mentioning is the fixed position of the centre rack, so you can only use it for items up to 1 3/4 inches high ie you have to slice a croissant in half. It bakes cookies fine and does an impressive job on scones, but anything higher would be too close to the top element.

Great value and compact. I love this little toaster oven!! It’s works very well. I won’t complain about the size, because it’s meant for “toast”, however I wish it came with a visible temperature gauge. I bought a thermal gun for that reason and found that it is extremely accurate. It heats up quick and maintains the set temperature no matter how much you open and close the door. For the price it is definitely worth it, however it also lacks internal lighting. It’s not much of deal-breaker if you have a flashlight or smart phone. I managed to find a small pan that just barely fit after I bent the the edges and I made some of the best 350 degree brownies!! The pan left no room for anything and I couldn’t even look through to watch them cook as it was a perfect fit. Would not recommend this for anyone that wants to cook anything bigger than a loaf.

Reliable and easy to use. I bought this recently to replace my previous black and decker toaster oven, which lasted for almost 10 years. This one is very similar. It’s easy to use and is big enough to make dinner for two people. I can fit two chicken breasts or two salmon fillets on the pan I bought especially for this toaster oven. The one that comes with, it is really too small, but you can find a bigger one. Toasting feature works pretty well, but I usually wait to check When the toast is done, so it doesn’t overcook. There is convenient, slide out crumb tray that you can easily clean. It’s a good toaster oven at a reasonable price.

  22. It does everything. This perfect toaster oven comes with a drip pan, bottom tray, rack, and a smaller tray for toast. You can broil, bake, toast, warm, and it came on time, and in perfect packaging. It has a temperature knob, function knob, and a timer. I highly recommend this product. Black and Decker delivered all it advertises.

  23. Works great. The toaster oven heats up fast both for toasting and baking. Easy to use nobs. Great value for the price. I highly recommend it.

  24. Good, compact toaster with some noise. So far so good. Bakes and toasts well. You might want to bake on a slightly lower temp than usual since this heats very quickly. When I first used it, it gave off a strong burning smell that seemed to come from within the toaster but hasn’t happened since. Also, it makes a ticking noise when cooking so that could be a deal breaker for some people. Overall I’m happy so far – this is more compact than other toasters I saw, looks nice, and cooks well.

  25. Replacing a previous B&D toaster oven. This was purchased to replace our previous Black and Decker toaster oven that we’d had for about 8-10 years. This one looked identical in the picture, but when we got it noticed it was a bit smaller. Not enough to make much of a difference though, we use it mainly for making toast, reheating pizza, preparing frozen entrees. The toaster works very well, it is hot enough to toast the bread without drying it out. The oven thermometer seems to be very accurate. We’ve baked frozen biscuits in it and they came out great when baked at the temperature and time on their label. The timer bell is loud enough you can hear it even if in the next room. As I said our previous B&D toaster over lasted a long time, so we anticipate this one will too. I see no negatives about it.

  26. Easy to use and clean, toasting a little uneven. This small toaster oven fits nicely on my kitchen counter. The crumb tray is easy to remove from the front for cleaning, a nice feature. The oven performs well for baking, broiling and reheating, however toast comes out a little uneven, with the top browner than the bottom — the reason that I didn’t award 5-stars.I chose this oven because it received a good value rating from Consumer Reports and am happy with my purchase.

  27. Excellent – works well. Just the right size to fit on the counter without taking too much space. Looks great. works very efficiently-makes life easier – less time spent in kitchen cooking

  28. Hot stuff. Great value! Works well and very dependable. Easily handles 4 slices of toast at one time.

  29. Great toaster. I love my toaster oven. It’s a bit hard to see the setting but it works great. Easy to heat up small things like a slice of pizza or…. I can’t think of anything else right now. lol. Though, great toaster.

  30. Best toaster oven with electronic controls. An excellent, full-featured, toaster oven. Its large capacity easily accommodates 6 bread slices at a time. Its all electronic controls results in precise setting, and quite working.
