Bathtub blues. We have one of the newer bathtubs with the “built-in” non-slip strips on the bottom. After three kids with filthy feet get in the tub, just try and remove the stains from these strips. I tried regular cleanser (Ajax, Comet), Clorox Clean-up, pure ammonia, pure undiluted bleach — Nothing worked. In desperation, I tried Barkeeper’s Friend. It worked. It didn’t get out all of the stains, but at least the tub looks good enough so that I don’t have to worry if a guest peeks behind the shower curtain to check out that aspect of my housekeeping. I noticed it’s also great for cleaning the chrome faucets in the tub — removes the dulling water residue and keeps them looking shiny for days on end. It’s also great for getting stains and odors out of cookware and plastic food storage containers. Great product!
Finally worked for the dried on soap scum. I’ve had dried/calcified soap scum all over my tub for a good while now that I’ve tried so many things on that only scratched it off enough to make it look even worse. Ajax, bleach, ammonia, citric acid, peroxide, dish soap, vinegar, and other ingredients in major brands and diy products. I finally saw this and got it thinking it probably wouldn’t do much, if anything. Thankfully I was very wrong! Along with a microfiber windshield cleaning handle I can finally see how absolutely disgusting my tub was. This barkeepers friend stuff is awesome! I didn’t have to put in much work at all, just basically wiping it with the microfiber thing and occasionally with a rag(I wouldn’t recommend a classic scrub brush) in the hard to get spots. It even got off some hair color from when I dyed my hair! Just look at the pics and buy it.
Awesome product. The performance of the product amazing very easy to use cleans everything shine the scent is good I kept hearing a lot of hype about this product finally purchases and I’m glad I did this is worth purchasing you will not have any regrets ship very fast for the price point I think it was great
Best thing for stainless steal pots. I use this on stainless steel pots I buy from thrift stores. It cleans and polishes them like new. I use it to remove soap scum on showers with a little bit of scrubbing. It removes the crud from kettles. It removes tea stains from inside my pots. The smell can be a little strong so make sure you add a little water to make it a paste and not just the powder alone.
Best scouring cleaner. This scouring powder is wonderful. I find it works much better than other similar products – cleans better, less elbow grease, and less scratching of the surfaces. I use it on my stainless steel sink – no scratches – porcelain, my gas stove, etc.
Good for Stain Removal from Oak Flooring. I bought this to see if it would remove fine scratches from my previously shiny and very expensive stainless steel sink. The sink lost its shine when our housekeeper (who is no longer our housekeeper) used stovetop cleaner instead of SS cleaner on it, and ruined the surface with the abrasives. It did not work, and the sink is still irreparably scratched. I learned, however, that it contains oxalic acid– wood bleach. I needed wood bleach, because the same housekeeper had used 50/50 white vinegar and water to clean our oak floors. After years if this (while we were at work), it removed the finish, and some areas became stained with mold. Oxalic acid is expensive and can’t be bought in small quantities. This was perfect. I made it into a slurry with a little water, left it on the stains overnight, and wiped them down the next morning. It took two applications, but the stains are gone! I have been told it will also remove rust from sinks and other surfaces.
Great for cleaning stainless steel cookware. I first bought Bar Keepers Friend to clean my stainless steel kitchen sink, but I like Comet better for that. It seems to leave a better luster. For cleaning burned on food or cooking oil residue from stainless steel cookware, though, there is nothing else that even comes close to this. The label says to not let it sit on the cookware for more than a minute or so but I suppose the strong ingredients are what make it work so well with a plastic scrubby.For some reason amazon’s shipping is currently very slow for this product. Although sold and shipped by amazon, my estimated delivery date is more than a week from my order date, but perhaps it will come sooner. In any case not a big problem. Excellent product for certain purposes.
Works wonders. I typically don’t leave reviews, but I knew I had to for this product! This quite literally works like magic. I thought nothing would save my pots and pans with gross burn marks, but it got rid of all of them and now they look brand new! I didn’t notice any smell, and it worked extremely fast. Do yourself a favor and buy this product so all of your kitchenware can look clean and brand new again!
This stuff is magic. We use it for stained linoleum counters and acrylic bathtub/shower.Tip: sprinkle generously, get it damp and do a quick scrub/spread it around. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub, and you’ll reduce the labor a lot.Works incredibly well. Easy to just rinse or wipe up afterward, easy to use.Wish the top was easier to close, once you take the sticker off and shake out some powder, it’ll never really close again. It takes a long time to absorb enough moisture to get chunky in the container though and isn’t that hard to shake loose. Just I wish it closed in case a baby/toddler managed to get it. Smells a bit odd, but it’s not strong and I hate strongly fragranced products anyway.
Great product. As I cleaned a stainless skillet today with Bar Keepers Friend, I was thinking I should write a review! The prompt to review it was perfectly timed. I cooked some tortillas at a very high heat and they left some dry, blackened areas on the pan. I let the pan cool a bit. wet it, sprinkled Bar Keepers Friend and used a plastic bristled brush to scour the pan. I brushed it for about a minute or so. It removed the burned on area amazingly fast. There have been times that I may have to do a second round to finish the job, but it gets them clean with less elbow grease or damage to the item than other tools or products. It’s also great on the sink, removing little rust spots on my stainless refrigerator. I’m very sold on this product!
