Provides great entertainment for a short amount of time. I wanted a toy to keep my dog mentally active. I searched ‘interactive toys’ on amazon and came across the snuffle mats. I thought it looked like a fun idea so decided to purchase one. So far I have no regrets! My dog absolutely loves this mat. I do not leave the mat out since the material seems a little light and not very durable. My dog uses it under supervision so he doesn’t tear it to pieces. Also, there is a string attached, which could become a choking hazard, so although this toy provides entertainment for your dog, I would not leave them unsupervised. He is able to find all the treats hidden in about 7-10 min, so don’t expect your dog to be entertained for hours, unless you keep replenishing the treats. Once he is done I put the mat away and use it as a reward. He eagerly waits every single time I pull out the mat. I have not washed mine yet, but the stitching looks promising. If your dog is a heavy chewer, this might not work out. A strong chewer will definitely destroy this mat in a matter of minutes. I’m sure my dog would destroy this mat if left unsupervised. I definitely recommend buying this mat! Lastly I would purchase a color different from your home rugs/carpet since I read another review on another snuffle mat stating their dog ripped up their carpet looking for treats, lol.
It’s eh. I bought this for my puppy after seeing people use snuffle mats for canine enrichment. He was also in a weird picky eating phase and wouldn’t eat food out of a bowl, so I bought this to see if it’d help.Well, the first few tries were a dud. Was not interested. I put in a few pieces of high reward treats in with his kibs and he got more interested and now forages for his food. But it’s not really that great. It’s something you could easily make at home and I probably should have or just put kibs in a scrunched up sheet and have him forage that way.We hardly ever use it. He enjoys treat dispensing toys much more. He likes moving around to get his food and is much more engaged with a dispensing toy. It’s almost much harder for him.If your dog is food motivated, your dog will most likely enjoy this. My dog also has been to a nose training class and does a couple of puzzles, so he knows the “find it” command. Using this snuffle mat was easy for him. Maybe too easy.If you want your dog to engage their nose, this is a good place to start. But I do not recommend this for chewers and destructive players. My pup has a soft mouth and does not tear plush toys bc of training, so it wasn’t a problem for us. But I NEVER left him alone with the snuffle mat bc it can very easily and quickly become a choking hazard. It’s a solid snuffle mat, but it wasn’t for us. My goldendoodle is much more engaged with other type of enrichment toys and the snuffle mat gets kind of gross for me. I use a puzzle feeder to feed him now and find that to be better for his new gobbling habit.TLDR; It’s eh. Gets icky. Easy for a dog with nose training and familiar with puzzles. Puzzle mazes work just as well for gobbling and easier to clean. You can make this yourself or use a sheet to make them forage in.
Snuffle Mat for dogs. So I bought this on a whim about 4 or so weeks ago so this is my thoughts so far.Pros: Easy to use. I put yeast pills or small treats among the “fingers” so give my doggie a bit of challenge. He does dig from time to time and if he is in a chewing mood, he can tear apart those hard to rip apart toys in about a week or two, but he does neither with this toy. I do actually close the opening about halfway to provide a bit more challenge and the toy is still in very good shape. Note: He is adult dog, not a puppy, so we are well beyond the teething/rip everything apart stage.Cons: It’s not particularly fluffy and the “fingers” tend to clump together so he was able to figure things out within seconds. Conclusion: He does really like this toy and associates it with treats/meds (he isn’t a bad med taker) so I use it daily. Prior to this, I just hid the treats in a wadded up towel and I’m not sure this toy is a step up from that, but it’s reasonable cute and I don’t regret buying it.
Love this mind game toy. My puppy loves when I get this mind toy out n putting small treats inside . He has so much fun for hours
Cheap but entertaining for dog. Cheaply made but my dogs did enjoy it somewhat so all in all not a bad item
Great Toy. Love this enrichment toy! My pug loves this toy. The color is so fun. He spends so much time rooting through it looking for pieces of his food. Very durable!
Good enrichment for cats too. First off, if i had gotten this for a dog i would have been very disappointed by the size. But then again maybe that’s why it’s cheaper than other similar products. The dimensions are listed I’m just very bad at estimating measurements and also imagining them. For a cat or a small dog though, it’s the perfect size.I realize I’m not the target demographic here but when it comes to animal care and enrichment- if it benefits the animal, that’s all that matters. Scent is very important to dogs, obviously… and it’s also important to cats, which i think a lot of people forget. My cat likes to inhale her food and swallow it whole without chewing, which inevitably leads to it coming back up onto the carpet every time. So I use a rotation of puzzle feeders to slow her down and make her use her little walnut brain (as opposed to just using a slow feeder bowl). She’s very smart and actively prefers her puzzles over a regular bowl (she will literally reject a bowl of food and shows preferences for a couple puzzles over others). The problem is she’s gotten very good at all the puzzles to the point that even having them on a rotation to switch things up isn’t enough anymore. She also unfortunately does not respond to catnip or catnip alternatives (we’ve tried them all just in case)- it’s not super common but it is a genetic thing. As a result, she doesn’t really get a lot of enrichment that utilizes scent so I thought why not see if she likes hunting down hidden food pieces. It’s been a pretty big hit. It is both easier and harder than the puzzles. Easier in the sense that she can get more than 1-2 pieces of food at a time but harder bc she has to really search for them. I currently switch between this and a food dispensing ball, to balance out the challenge throughout the week. She also likes to dig a bit so being able to dig through the fabric strips is something else she enjoys.Once we’ve had a break from the puzzles for several months I’ll start re-introducing them on rotation again and alternate between current puzzle and this mat.But the thing I like the most is I can just throw it into the wash as needed. There is no hand washing plastic nooks or worrying about food/crumbs getting stuck between pieces (some puzzles are just too weirdly shaped to fit into the dishwasher and others will not be able to be thoroughly washed by a dishwasher). She’s happy. I’m happy. 5 stars.
My dog loves this toy. I say “sniffle pad” and she comes running to get her puppy puzzle. She is a hound so she has great sense of smell so it’s not challenging for her but to me it seems she’s having a lot of fun, and that’ the most important thing. The fact that i can pull a string and it bundles is really convenient, I can put it in her cab it so quick and I don’t have to put it somewhere else bc it can’t fit. It’s over all an amazing toy and I definitely recommend it!

Bottom tore easily. I would give this product 5 stars because it is wonderful for enrichment but in my opinion the material on the bottom tore very easily so if you have a dog who likes to flip things over it’s something to look for. Other than that have really enjoyed having it for enrichment
love how easy it is to clean. My cat loves this and he slobbers a lot. Once a week after a use or two, i toss it in the washer, dry it in the sun, and it’s good as new. Keeps my clingy cat busy and gives me time to get some work done. 10/10 would gift to a friend.
Entertaining for a short time. Very easy to use, just drop the treats in and my dog starts to find them. I usually fill it about 3 rounds and then I run over to pick it up as my dog would be tempted to destroy it. Overall I like the toy, it does keep her entertained and she looks forward to it
It’s really cheap, but does the job. It’s more cheaply made than I would have liked, in retrospect should have bought one of the long carpets for a bit more money, but I bought (and washed) this one so it is mine now! Cats definitely enjoy it.
Quality snuffle mat. This is cute and functional, I will say, the strips give out easy so don’t give it to an aggressive chewer or eater, they can easily take the green strips out.
Perfect for cat kibble. Works as advertised. Adds some fun, variety and challenge to slow down my cat at feeding time or to drop some small treats. He can be a bit lazy with toys but seems to be very engaged with this.
