  1. Nice little light laptop, 2022 edition model. This laptop is basically the size I’ve been looking for!Remember when netbooks became all the rage? I do and I had a few of them due to the size and how quick they moved, but over time those laptops became useless. Then we got chromebooks, which was a good replacement, but the operating system was too limited. Now we have this Asus light mini laptop, its literally ALMOST perfect. Why is it not perfect? WELL, the internal drive is only 64GB and after its Win11 install, you can basically wave half that away, leaving you with not a lot of room.So I popped this open after reading there is an SSD upgrade slot and some folks claimed it wasn’t there in the 2022 model.Mine had it, so either there is two different models for 2022, or people are not looking in the correct spot. BUT it was the first thing I did, even before powering it on, was check. Because no slot, it would have been an instant return for me.Drive/upgrade:I used the SSD slot to insert a 1TB drive, in which I in reinstalled win11 into, and then changed the boot order, formatting the internal drive, leaving me with 1TB working drive with a 64GB back drive.Battery life:I used mine for a few hours unplugged and then placed it in sleep mode when going to bed. I went to bed and it said 82% was left. I woke up after a good nights sleep, checked the laptop and it was at 69% percent. So roughly in 10 hours, it lost 13%. I really don’t see that as an issue and based on my experiences windows laptops can’t sit in standby or sleep mode for days at a time like an Apple Macbook, which you can leave unplugged for days and only lose a little percentage of battery.Performance:- I installed Opera (not GX) as I wanted the lightest browser I could find, but with some features, Opera won that. It ran smoothly and even gave me a VPN option on the browser. Had no issues surfing, while doing research for various things.- Youtube ran smoothly, the sound was good and loud for a such a little laptop.- Installed Obsidian Notes (ON), because I use it organize projects I am doing, taking notes for classes or whatever. I did notice a little stammering with ON here and there, but it wasn’t a big deal or a deal breaker for me.- Installed GOG (Good old Games) which is a site for older video games of the past and played a few older ’90s and ’80s games with no noticeable issue.- I did notice with many tabs open in Opera or various programs open the laptop, it did slow down and did struggle a little.Overall:Good laptop for someone on the go who likes to surf the web, play light video games or possibly likes to run tabletop RPG games, because its perfect to keep notes in and bring it to your gaming table for a night of gaming.IF IT HAD NOT HAD THE UPGRADE SLOT, its a deal breaker.

  4. It sure does do the internet real good. I’ve had this thing for 2 days, and boy can I ever use Microsoft Edge and Spotify at the same darn time. For a $200 laptop, you can do basic stuff in a browser. You can bring this baby anywhere and it has a battery that lasts kind of pretty much a long time. Chrome is a little too much for it, so I’m getting acquainted with Microsoft Edge. It’s enough to do basic business or student work on. If that’s what you want, then by golly that’s what you’ve got. I’m taking this thing to the creek and “working from home” with a fold up chair and my toes in the water. I can write articles, design using Canva, and build websites in WordPress while listening to music, which is all I need. Thank you, ASUS, for this tiny, tiny affordable laptop that is only good for work stuff. That’s exactly what I was looking for!

  6. Good for the price. I needed a good little lightweight computer for invoicing and using MS Word. This is definitely a bargain computer not a great display and the keyboard is not lighted. Good for the price.

  7. Basic computer for basic tasks. There are display on off buttons which I don’t understand the purpose . I need the display on lolI suppose if we are casting to the TV then it will not be distracting. For the money this is a good purchase

  8. Fantastic – handle your expectations. So after 1.5 months of using this baby for grad school, I’m ready to write my review.I bought this laptop for under $200 including tax to replace my $1000 iPad Pro for school use. I had many issues with the iPad, most notably its software and issues with formatting when using Microsoft Excel. But this review isn’t about why I don’t like my iPad. Here is my breakdown review of this laptop:I wanted a budget laptop that was not a Chromebook since I use the Microsoft Office suite pretty extensively.Processing power: this laptop is by no means super fast. Web pages and various apps will take a second or two to load. For me, it’s not a problem at all but I can see it bothering some people. I’m also able to have many tabs and windows open and multitask pretty frequently and it handles it pretty well. Again, it may take a second or two for windows to react, especially if I’m running multiple things.Graphics power: non-existent so I would not expect to be able to play any games nor have I tried to do so. But! I am able to run CompleteAnatomy, which is a pretty demanding application. It boots slow but once the app is open it runs well enough to get the job done. I do this while also running 4 to 5 other windows/applications so no complaints here.Screen: it looks fine when you look straight at it. Brightness is decent as well as clarity and contrast. Its viewing angles are terrible so if you plan to stream videos or something while lying on your bed it might be a bad choice. But! I love its terrible viewing angles because people around me can’t see my screen. It’s like a built-in privacy screen.Keyboard: surprisingly responsive. I have no complaints with it at all. If anything I’m mildly impressed.Touchpad: does the job. The touchpad numpad is kind of gimmicky and doesn’t work all that great. But I don’t need the feature and I use a mouse anyway.Portability: this is where it shines. Extremely light (lighter than my iPad if it’s in its case) with a small/discrete charger. I thought the tiny screen would be a problem at first but now I love it.Battery life: very good. It’ll last a full day’s use (8-10 hours of school) and still hang out at around 25%. Better battery life than my phone and any other laptop I’ve ever had.Storage: very small. But I exclusively work off of the cloud because I’ll bounce between this laptop, my phone, and my PC at home. Nowadays I think local storage isn’t as important as before as long as you have internet access.Software/OS: When the laptop first arrived, it prompted an update to Windows 11 followed by a multitude of updates. It was a solid 2.5 hours of just updating. It also came with S mode defaulted, which I later found out was some kind of safety feature that makes all downloads limited to things from the Microsoft Store. That kind of made the laptop unusable and so I was planning to return it but you can opt out of S mode and now it’s great.Others: no issues with Wifi or Bluetooth connectivity. I think the notification and focus features are gimmicky but I don’t have issues having features I don’t plan to use.Overall, for my school use, this laptop is a solid 8/10 for me. If you buy it handling your expectations, this laptop is unbeatable for its price.

  10. Windows or Chrome. In the beginning this was the computer from hell, it did nothing right and fought me at every turn, it seemed to go out of its way to aggravate, after repeated attempts to just to get it to run I finally (for the sake of my remaining sanity) made the call to return it, but days went by and it was never picked up or better yet stolen, so I contacted Amazon related the issues and lack of pickup to the support supervisor and they said just keep it since it had been renewed 2 times before I had gotten it, got the refund and a few weeks later started tinkering with it, short version it took 8 hours to reload the OS but after that it has decided to behave itself, funny thing is I quit using Windows 23 years ago but now Windows 11 is a clear blending of Google Chrome and Windows, and once I disabled S mode it became even more like my Chromebooks and the Edge browser (Explorer) now using Chrome underpinnings) works very well and really nails the Ad Blocking making internet almost relaxing and useful. In the end, this has been a good learning experience and the Laptop itself is very good even though it is just a basic laptop, it really grows on you.All in all it’s KHARMA Baby, we seemed to be destined for each other, this is now a good well behaved laptop!
