May come crushed, repurpose as food topper UPDATE at bottom. When a friend of the family passed away, I took in his ancient, 15 year old dog. She was constantly scratching, chewing, and licking herself in an unhealthy, obsessive manner. After the normal bathing and checking for fleas (she had none), I took her into the vet who told me she may be allergic to corn. So I bought the Wag brand freeze dried dog treats in chicken and beef liver to try to move away from dog treats/food with corn to see if that helps her. This has ratings for flavor, scent, and value for money, so I’ll cover them first.Flavor: must be pretty good because both my young dog and my adopted ancient one love them.Scent: both dogs get super excited for treats, and it could be simply that these are new to them, but it seems like they get extra excited when I open these bags. I believe it is safe to say they smell the meat content when I open them. The scent is mild to my nose, not unpleasantly obtrusive like some dog treats.Value for money: this is a freeze dried meat only product, so it is going to be more expensive. I got a deal on the 3 oz bags, so for me it was worth a try, but be prepared to dig deeply into your pockets if you intend to switch completely over to this type of food and treats, because as of right now it is a little over $3 an ounce for these. That being said, I bought several different bags of treats and they all shipped together in one package. When I opened said box, I noticed the chicken one was kind of crushed and mostly crumbles while the beef liver one still had whole chunk cubes. It appeared that perhaps the other container of treats bounced around in the box and pulverized the chicken treats. Now I could still utilize this chicken dust as a food topper and mix it in with the dog kibble, but I ordered treats, so I contacted Amazon to let them know about the situation and they stated they would forward the information and feedback to the appropriate party. In the meantime I got a replacement to be shipped separately. Spoiler alert, it also came as chicken dust, so IDK maybe that whole batch has been damaged, or could be that the chicken just doesn’t hold its shape as well / it is more delicate, or perhaps shipping is way too rough with the packages….So if you are wanting to be able to hand feed your dog whole chunks as a treat, you might want to find these in a physical store to inspect the package prior to purchasing it. Otherwise you might inadvertently get a food topper instead.TL;DR Dogs love these, but buy in store if you want whole treats instead of treat dust.UPDATE: after a little more research into freeze dried food, I learned that a lot of freeze dried foods are meant to be rehydrated for consumption. So if you take these and soak them in a bit of water for a few minutes it will reconstitute the meat to a soft raw form. When I tried it with these, the bigger liver chunks were still kind of dry and firm in the middle, but the littler chicken pieces quickly became very sloppy. Be prepared to have your dogs waiting impatiently for you to give them their bowls when you are rehydrating these. Considering this is technically a raw product be sure to wash your hands and the dog dishes after they consume the treat. (Even though mine polished the metal bowls long after the food was gone 😂 so they must really like it)

My daughter’s dogs can only eat chicken meat. Due to a kidney condition, Dear Tootsie must only eat pure chicken dog food & treats. However, her mother 2 dogs also like these pure chicken treats best. Rupert is especially fond of them. He made that quote clear to me on my last visit to spoil the puppies. He refuses the mother puppies treats with a shake of his head & a nose pointed nose at Tootsie special treats. 🥳🥳🥳Smart dog. Not carrots & apples in this chicken, either. 🥰🥰🥰
Loved them. Dog loved them.I read online that dogs get skin tags and a natural holistic health remedy is to supply them with liver. So I tried raw liver for a while, but we travel. She’s a service dog. I can’t transport raw meats everywhere. So I got these treats.I chose the small intro bag at $11 because most of the larger tubs are $35-50+. This was a great intro.I started treating her with these every time we came in from a walk. Slowly she got used to it. Now she loves them. Fabulous.I feel better about treating my dog well, and ensuring her healthy, holistic nutrition.God, I love dogs. Don’t know where I’d be without my dog. She is an angel and a blessing to me.
Love this product. All my dogs love the Wag treats. I just got a new poodle and she wasn’t eating well. I bought these and mashed in my hand and put on her food. She has eaten every since. Most are easy to crush. Quality is excellent having only one ingredient “chicken”. Pricing is lower than most treats.
Versatile treat. The variations in texture and size – big, soft chunks or tough, crusty slivers — are a little annoying but it’s a favorite treat for my picky pup. I sometimes grind the softer pieces with my fingers and sprinkle on her food like seasoning, which she loves.
Love them. My dogs absolutely love the Amazon Brand – Wag Freeze-Dried Dog Treats! These treats are made from real meat, and the quality is evident in every piece. They’re perfect for training sessions or just as a special reward, and I love that they’re grain-free with no artificial ingredients. The freeze-dried texture makes them easy to break into smaller pieces, and my dogs go crazy for the flavor every time. Plus, the resealable bag keeps them fresh for longer. If you’re looking for a healthy and tasty treat for your dog, I highly recommend these!
Great treat. I love these for my dogs. No ingredients beyond liver. The dogs love them and they’re healthy. Not too expensive. Perfect treat for any dog.
Great for getting my dog to eat her supper. I have a very picky dog, but she loves these. I even break them up into little pieces or powder and sprinkle the bits on her food. She suddenly loves to finish every bite.
My doggie loves these treats. My dogs loves these treats. They tended to crumble up easily in the treat jar I use. But Millie just ate the crumbs out of my hand.
Good for my dogs. Great for training, crunchy, a variety of small sizes, good for boosting health and my dogs can smell them as soon as I open the zip lock top. I used the smaller pieces to mix in my oldest dog’s food to encourage her to eat and give her energy.
Our dog goes nuts for these. I have a very spoiled, picky eater little Toy Fox Terrier & simply put, he goes nuts for these. Great for training or for rewarding with a treat, they’re cut into smallish cubes so can use multiple pieces even with small dogs & are easy enough to break. They do stink a little bit but no worse than any other similar type treats. Also the ingredients don’t have a ton of junk in them & as our pup has a very touchy belly, that these treats don’t upset his stomach are all the proof I need… They’re high protein/calorie so likely not best for daily use but for sure are a favorite special treat for our dog.
Never met a dog that did like these. I think it’s a good choice simple and relatively healthy snack. I appreciate that these are made in the USA, (which is a big plus for me as I prefer products not sourced from China) and the beef used in the treats is sourced from reputable countries. I also appreciate that they’re single-ingredient and there’s no unnecessary fillers or additives. My dog loves them, and I feel good knowing that they’re just pure beef liver.
High Value Treat. I’m Buddy! I’m rescued and nervous about things. But these high value liver treats – well, is so anything for these delicious treasures! Even go through this scary barrier of crinkly, scary, torn, holey, art that is between me and my delectable delights!!Thank you for all you do to make this yummy snack for me! They make me brave! They keep me healthy! And I look super handsome in the Christmas card this year!
