Overall Great for Productivity. Acer Swift X SFX14-42G-R607 Creator Laptop |14″ Full HD 100% sRGB: The biggest downside if you are a gamer. The 60hz display. While it looks beautiful, brightens really well, and looks stunning…. games will be sluggish. I guess if you are a content creator or using the laptop for productivity, the screen would be great.AMD Ryzen 7 5825U – Not a bad processor at all. Again, pretty powerful if you are just creating content or using for standard productivity.NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU: impressive graphic card for a 14-in laptop that is not considered a gaming laptop. For a hardcore gamer, this graphics card would not be enough. For a mid-range gamer (overwatch, for example), it would suffice. But again, the drawback here is the 60 hz screen.16GB LPDDR4X: The ram is soldered on, so you won’t be able to improve on this. 16 GB, although becoming outdated, is not too bad.512GB SSD:Plenty of space being that most of what we do is on the cloud, and especially cuz you won’t be playing any AAA titles that need a large amount of space.Wi-Fi 6: well not bad, you could always upgrade it to the Wi-Fi 6e card by opening it up.Overall, it really depends what you’re going to get this laptop for.If you are getting it to edit videos, create content, word processing, use for school, use for medium to light work, used for middle of the road gaming… the portability is fantastic. Super light, super thin, and nice gray finish.If you are getting this laptop to be able to play AAA titles on the go, it won’t happen. You’re better off with a Razer Blade 14 or a Rog. Substantial price difference.I personally have a desktop gaming PC and I thought it would be a Good laptop to play overwatch and some lighter games while traveling, but the 60 hz screen ruined it for me.
Best laptop I have had, awesome for everything I need. I’m amazed how well this laptop does for it’s size and price. It’s super responsive for everything, and plays every game I have on the highest settings. It’s so small I don’t have to think twice about lugging it around like I usually have to do with laptops powerful enough for what I need. It’s also nice to be able to use a USB C dock with power and only have one cable to connect and disconnect to hook up to everything. It’s also nice that the screen isn’t glossy so doesn’t reflect everything, yet it looks amazing. The only trade off seems to be it’s quite plasticky and not the most rugged feeling laptop.

The screen is absolutely beautiful and it is smooth. I use laptops for many things such as school and gaming. Now for the price, the graphics card, the ram, and the processor is absolutely a steal. Even for the normal price its definitely worth your money. Acer really hit it off with this one. My previous laptops were never anything special and I would often notice issues with either speed or just usability, but I didn’t experience any of that with this laptop. If you travel a lot or need general use, its amazing, its super light and can take pretty much anything you throw at it.

So Far So Good. I purchased this during Prime Day and eagerly awaited it’s arrival.It’s a great little laptop, though I have to get used to the lack of a number pad (there’s peripherals for that, though.)I LOVE the fingerprint unlock. Love how fast it is too!Don’t love that I’m being told my memory is low, when I’m not running anything, and it seems that the message is intermittent.Good buy in the end, and suits my purposes.
Beast. I didn’t notice that it didn’t come with an ethernet connection because that’s the main reason why I got it was to update my router. But that’s nothing you can’t add on. But other than that, this is the fastest thing I have ever encountered. It starts right up it wakes right up it gets things done within seconds. My other laptop would take like 15 minutes to boot up. You are done in 15 seconds… This thing does game pretty much anything unless you are a spoiled gamer on PC but if you are a Xbox or PlayStation person, this holds up with all of that. You will not be disappointed unless you are a gamer. But this will handle anything you throw at it. The only thing that sucks is the screen, but I have a 2.1 LG C2 so I could take advantage of the 2.1 port HDMI and get my 4K and accurate colors. If you guys are needing that. Other than that, enjoy
One of the buggiest builds I have received in a very long time. I’ve got an Acer Nitro 5 laptop and love it. Hoping that the Swift X would be of similar quality, I grabbed the Acer Swift X SFX14-42G-R607 Creator Laptop when it went on sale. I am baffled at how this thing made it through QA. The first thing I noticed was that the USB-C port had way too much wiggle in it. Every time I plug in a docking station, it feels like it will snap something inside. Sometimes it charges, and sometimes it decides not to charge (even though the data connection is still active). I discovered that if an external web camera is plugged in and it logs the normal driver for it, it completely kills all audio drivers (zero sound, even through Bluetooth, audio cables, and earphones). Speaking of Bluetooth, occasionally it won’t turn on, with the computer claiming that there is no Bluetooth hardware present. Later, it will randomly realize it does have Bluetooth and it’ll come on and connect. Maybe the bugs are related to WIndows 11, maybe its the AMD based system, or maybe Acer designers or QA just fell asleep on this one. I’m giving it 3 stars because when its been successfully plugged up to it’s docking station and everything is working, it works pretty well. It’s fast and can handle a good number of apps active at once, On battery power, it doesn’t lose much performance and the battery will last a very long time. If I didn’t have to spend so much time fighting with it to get it into a usable state, it’d be a 5/5 purchase.

I got this for the artist in the family to be able to render high-res scenes without crashing their computer. For most general art purposes, this is a beast.The laptop itself is okay. The barrel power plug is a bit silly when it’s sitting right next to a USB-C port. Get with the times, Acer. But it all works. Keyboard and track pad are fine. Preinstalled bloatware wasn’t too bad. Everything was uninstalled inside of an hour.The only real negative is that it does get hot. With this power and size there’s no way around that. I do strongly recommend a “laptop cooler” of some sort, even just a vented plastic wedge to keep it off your legs. Or if you use a docking station to help control all your monitors and an external keyboard, you won’t have to worry.Lovely laptop. Great performance. Can be gotten at truly decent prices. Very happy so far.

A lot to love with 1 caveat. I love most everything about this computer. If you are not gaming the battery lasts forever and charges super fast. The wifi is great, the screen is great. The white lighting is weird when outside (minor problem). A lot more to love about it. I love its small profile and lightness.Now the big issue and it has to do with gaming. It can play everything, and thats good and all. However, if you are playing a higher intensive game the computer gets really stinking hot when plugged in. You can unplug it but the battery drains really fast if its not plugged in. On the one hand this limits my play times on more intensive games because I dont want to fry my computer. Downside is when I want to play over an hour I risk damage to the computer.I am currently really into Factorio and I can play for hours plugged in with no problems. Long story short. If you are a straight gamer this probably isnt for you you. With all that being said I am happy with the purchase. I am lucky as well because I got it Prime Day 2023 for $630 which is a steal.

I bought this laptop for my game design school work so I could have a decent portable workstation, and it works beautifully running both Unreal and Unity alongside numerous other programs. It does have a tendency to heat up, which is expected considering it’s pretty thin, but regardless it runs perfectly.
