  1. It’s pretty good. I have been using this laptop for a week and honestly find it pretty good. I went through a lot of reviews before making my decision and wanted to add my own for anyone thinking of buying this.PROS:-The screen is really vibrant. I haven’t noticed any screen bleed or dull colors and the refresh rate is great.-The laptop stays very cool* under heavy gaming.-It’s really snappy and responsive. I haven’t noticed any lag.-The touchpad is very responsive and easy to use.-The keys are slightly raised and feel a bit soft but in a good way. They’re pleasant to type on and it wasn’t hard to adjust to this smaller layout from a wider desktop keyboard.CONS:-The fan is loud when gaming. Like, really, really loud. It might be jarring if you’re coming from a desktop.-Battery life is pretty bad and the performance decrease when not connected to a charger is not extreme, but noticeable.NOTES:-As the other reviews have said, you need to press the power cord in and hear it click twice.-If you downgraded to Windows 10, you’ll want to redownload the relevant drivers from Acer’s website. I had to redownload the touchpad and io drivers to get mine working again.-You’ll also want to redownload Nitrosense if you downgrade. You can use it to toggle on coolboost which keeps the laptop extremely cool. You can also allegedly use it to lower the speed of the fans but I didn’t notice a reduction in fan noise so I decided to keep it on coolboost. All in all? The cons are pretty minor compared to the pros. I got it for a little under 800 dollars and consider that to be a steal.

MANUFACTURER RUSH JOB.. READ ALL. Unless you are an advanced PC user, and know how to designate your graphics card as primary as the VERY first power on, and know how to get all the settings where they need to buy… then DONT BUY.. they didn’t think this one through. I’m an acer fan and computer technician who also builds custom PCs, Acer dropped the ball. The program is shotty, it didn’t even handle APEX Legends for more than 3 matches before Apex shut it down. The specs seem like a good option, yeah, for solitare and watching YouTube, but they need to chose better programmers, and designers. The fan option is great without having to use downloaded software, the screen is wonderful, but the integrated graphics and having to switch it manually to the GPU was a pain, not to mention, you have to update NVIDIA BEFORE ALL updates, if you don’t, you will not be able to update and need a fresh start to fix. Mind you, you needed all this info BEFORE you just buy, and this info isn’t listed as a tagged warning on their website. Either stand behind your product or remove it from the market and upgrade another 2 PCs.. ya know?

  5. Great upgrade from using a business laptop where GPU is part of CPU. Very impressed with this my first gaming laptop. While personally I have always owned Macs, I down have ownership of a few noteworthy games that are now Windows only I had to finally bite the bullet. Veryimpressed so fr. I had 2 “disappointment, none are earth shattering, while I would have loved to change the color of the keyboard, I’ll settle for it lighting when I need it with a steady red glow. Also not that keen on Win 11 but I’m smart enough not to try and retro fit the OS. I will be looking at additional drive storage, but the memory was a wise choice at 16GB. I see there are icon above the keyboard, but they do not light up and the also would have been handy. But is working and doing a great job!

  7. Perfect for Video Editors. Let me start with my job turned me on to using high powered laptop’s plugged into docking stations for productivity. This is awesome because you can take your projects with you. I use the Nitro for video editing (4k 60fps) with Adobe Premiere Pro for youtube content. This thing remders 30 min 4k vids in LESS THAN 25 minutes. My old pc took an hour and would fail at times. It runs three dell 32in monitors no problem. I suspect it will run most games spectacularly. Though you may have to adjust frame rate. The picture quality is awesomeProsPrice pointThis thing is FAST!Graphics are on par with higher 4 digit cost laptopsPicture qualityProcessing powerFast boot upGreat for video editing and moderate gamingThe keyboard is solid and big for a laptop which is a plus.ConsWindows 11Only 512gb storageIts a heavier laptopFans are loudWindows 11The battery life is… what you’d expect.Looking at maybe 1-2 hours if you’re heavy in use and maybe 3-4 woth light use and power saving settings.Lets look at the truth and that is you’re not gonna be gaming on batt power and this thing shines hooked into bigger multiple monitors. The laptop lets you carry to a buddy’s or coffee shop to continue the fun.Did I mention windows 11?Keyboard light doesn’t stay lit too long, even on power and can’t find a setting for it.

  8. Why 4 **** and not 5. I really like the laptop, I use it for video editing and it renders videos very fast. However the laptop is not CRU compliment or customer replacement unit parts. To access the spot to add an extra SSD or RAM the ENTIRE back must be removed. And to add an extra SSD requires using the supplied ribbon, however my black ribbon lock fell into the computer so I can’t add an extra SSD.A tip, if you want the red keyboard backlight to remain on while in use the setting is in the BIOS.Overall the performance of the laptop for the cost is very much worth buying. So yes I recommend it. However if you intend to add an extra SSD or RAM, better have someone with lots of experience and tiny fingers. BTW I have 5 IT degrees and still found upgrading a challenge.

  9. OMFG, this is probably the best computer I’ve bought for the price. I’m a streamer and my old laptop just wasn’t cutting it. This laptop not only starts up fast af, it runs my obs, discord, twitch and games at the same time with zero lag all while downloading other games. Cannot recommend this computer enough. I’m also autistic with adhd and it doesn’t emit that annoying electrical buzzing sound I’ve noticed in other gaming laptops/computers. The fans are quite and efficient. the only downside is (like every laptop) it only has two usb ports, so I had to buy a USB power block to be able to run my mouse, cam, ring light and mic. Other than the expected downside I cannot recommend this laptop enough.

  10. Item arrived but won’t turn on. I have +40 years experience in a computer support role. Paid extra to have it shipped promptly because my old Acer died. Item arrived and will not turn on. Customer support was unable to make it turn on and offered I send it in for repair. I asked for a immediate replacement to be sent as I have an immediate need to replace my dead Acer. Customer service representative was not able to offer a replacement, only repair or return for refund. I asked to speak to a Supervisor, CSRep advised no Supervisors available. I explained my experience as a computer CSRep and never was the CS floor left with no supervision and again asked for a Sup and was denied. I’m returning the laptop and will not buy an Acer to replace my dead one. Good CS would be to replace this overnight with a new one. ACER Customer service is not up to industry standards.

  11. Smooth running pc but keep power plugged in. Got this pc for my wife and daughters to replace a very old laptop. This one runs very smooth, fast and with good video quality. Audio/sound/speakers are a little soft even when turned all the way up but not that big of a deal for our needs. Laptop camera is good and it’s nice to have the various USB ports and connect to wifi. Runs programs, websites and games with easy. Fans do an awesome job keeping it cool. The Nitrosense feature is cool too. Note… you will need to keep the power cord plugged in. Battery life if low and drains fast. When plugged in there are no issues.Only downside/con is the battery life. But if you keep it plugged in, no issues. Overall a very good laptop.

  12. Love it but do miss the CD slot. I’m actually writing this review on my Nitro 5 and I love this laptop. Actually my 3rd ACER laptop; ACER has been so reliable that it’s my go-to brand and this laptop does not disappoint. I can play Civ on it; I have about 30 Nancy Drew games loaded on it. It performs fantastic and the graphic quality is very satisfying. The only thing I would change is I would get a CD/DVD slot. Sure, there are enough ports on this that I could plug my external drive into it, so I guess it’s just a convenience thing really. When I am using it for gaming, the fans are kind of loud but it really doesn’t bother me. My next laptop is very likely to be an ACER. They’re so reliable and easy to maintain. I have the same quality and performance on this ACER for under $1,000 as my daughter has on her $2500 Surface and I get the satisfaction of having paid mine off using the 12 equal payments with no interest plan. Can’t beat it!

  14. Big Disappointment. I had to spend an extra hundred dollars just to upgrade the RAM. So, it could play a few modern games. Still lags and everything looks pixilated. I mainly bought this laptop in hopes I could run my capture card through it and stream console games with Overlays and Alerts. I was dead wrong, this piece of junk crashes after two minutes of me streaming on StreamLabs, OBS Studio, and gostreamlight.com. NO matter what I stream the laptop freezes and crashes every time. NOT A GAMING LAPTOP

  15. Very first gaming laptop. This is a really good and affordable gaming laptop! It runs games well and have a good graphics card.

  17. Great for the price. Got this for my daily usage and casual gaming and I’m very pleased with it. I’m not sure how it holds up for mmorpg and intensive online gaming, but it’s worked fine for me for single-player games. I played all of Baldurs Gate 3 on this laptop (single-player only), and while the laptop ran super hot, I had fun playing the game and experienced no lag. I did have to get a separate laptop fan, tho–without it, I wouldn’t trust the laptop to hold up. It risked overheating and the screen flickered. This shouldn’t be surprising given the laptop’s specs, tho. You get what you pay for. And like I said, it ran fine with the laptop fan. It definitely needed to be plugged in tho; without that, the battery would die in about half an hour or so.Overall, great value! Perfect for a casual gamer who doesn’t want to spend crazy $$ or build their own machine.
