  1. I also find these gloves very useful. Additionally. The five stars are for probable durability. I also find these gloves very useful. Additionally, my return was handled extremely efficiently.Fit/size:I can see 4 potential issues with getting the correct size in these gloves. How wide is your palm (most important). How thick is your wrist (somewhat important). How long are your fingers (mostly unimportant). How thick are your fingers (mostly unimportant). This following size chart (from the Speedo site) addresses palm width:AQUATIC FITNESS GLOVES SIZE CHARTS M L XL8.0cm 8.5cm 9.0-9.5cm 10.0-10.5cmNote: Width: Measure horizontally across the palm.(Although my palm is about 9.5cm across, squarely in the Large category, this size would have been to large for me.)This criteria for fit is the most important. If the gloves are too large in the palm, they will feel loose on the hand. I purchased two pairs of Speedo swim training gloves, one XL and one M, for my wife and I. I returned the XL, partly because they were too big and loose on the body of my hand. I now use the medium size purchased for my wife. This pair is also a bit loose. This becomes especially evident when swimming. I think the wet material tends to stretch, fill with water, and they feel like they balloon out a bit.I have fairly small wrists. For the fit, this somewhat/slightly important. I think the size of the wrist opening and the position of the velcro closure is related to the glove/palm size; i.e. XL has a larger wrist opening than the Small size. Not only do my Medium sized gloves seem a bit too large on the palm, I feel like, in order to keep the glove on my hand, I should adjust the velcro closure to the minimum aperture size. (two downsides to this adjustment: the velcro makes limited contact and the excess strap flops around on every stroke).Length of fingers: I have not found it useful to make a size comparison to other kinds of gloves. I have what I think of as large to very large hands (at maximum spread, tip of thumb to tip of little finger = 23.5cm). It is difficult for me to find work gloves that fit. I have (literally) tried on many hundreds of pairs of work gloves. When gloves do fit, they are almost always XXL size, and even those are often too small. I own about 10+ pairs of winter gloves, all XL and XXL. Perhaps the difficulty is long fingers? (middler finger, right hand = 9cm). While fit is critical for me with gloves with fingers, it is not an issue with with the Speedo fingerless swim gloves. Whether my fingers protrude from the gloves .5″, or 1.5″, does not seem to substantially affect either comfort or function.Size of the finger holes: the finger holes on these medium gloves are also a bit too large for me. This seem to affect the way the gloves function: a strong forward stroke seems to push back the material around the edge of the finger, creating resistance. Also: water seems to enter the glove around the fingers, creating more resistance. However, I do not find this a problem. I have to work harder against the resistance, and that is why I am using the gloves.Durability: I have used these about 10 times while swimming and snorkeling in both ocean, and pool. I have not noticed any wear issues.Note: These gloves may not help you swim faster. I have noticed, especially when snorkeling, that the greater surface area these gloves provide does seem to give me more power, at least for a few hard strokes. When swimming laps, the greater resistance makes me work harder (which is good, right?), but it does not increase my overall speed. Indeed, my time for ten laps increases. When I remove the gloves, however, it feels like I can fly through the water. (neighboring swimmers have assured me that this was not the case).

  3. BRILLIANT for getting the most out of pool time / water therapy. A water aerobics instructor who helps me with my water therapy introduced me to the water gloves instead of using the water weights because the gloves are far more versatile and much easier to transport in my gym bag. Initially I had preferred the water weights that I’d used at the Y and Golds Gym however since everything was closed I was only able to do my water therapy at a private pool – thankful for terrific friends in a gated community! My friend has a number of sets of these gloves in different sizes and different brands. Out of all of them we tried, my husband and I both preferred the Speedo gloves. Since I’m a 2XL gal, I like these gloves in Large. My 2XLT husband loves the XL size since he has a really horrible hand injury that’s never healed properly – he’s finally able to get pool exercise without his hand throbbing quite as much. I have a really bad leg situation, bad enough I feel like a beached whale when on land. In the water though, I’m finally able to move so I’m regaining such much missed flexibility and strength. These gloves are really awesome to improve both my arm strength and endurance. They are stylish enough that quite a few people have been asking me about the gloves, trying them out and saying they plan to get their own set. I can’t sing their praises enough – well built and reasonably priced. I recommend to wash the gloves out thoroughly after using and lay or hang them up to air dry as they do retain quite a bit of pool water. They hold up well to use in the swimsuit water extraction machine available at some gyms, too.

  4. Excellect gloves, size runs a little large. Ordered a set of these to replace the worn out set of TAGVO gloves I was using and I’m glad I did. Even though they’re twice the price of similar gloves, they have a much larger surface area and a rubber palm which adds much better water resistance. The velcro strap is a bit longer than the cheaper ones, but still not very adjustable. I have big hands so I ordered a Large, but the gloves run a bit large in size so the wrist is still pretty loose and can come off when swimming. I thought about returning them to get a Medium, but I figured out a better solution: I just ordered a couple 8″ self-tightening velcro straps with plastic buckles that I can wrap around my wrist to keep the strap on good and tight and it does the job without the strap coming loose. These are much better quality gloves than the cheaper knockoffs and if you’re willing to pay more for better resistance, I highly recommend them. Just be warned that they tend to run a bit large.

Best Quality. Best quality for these gloves. I bought double pair of all knock off brand. Pure trash. Ripped when I put them on and tried to use them.I gladly paid the extra $ for these solid ones from speedo ! They do run slightly big.

  6. Go For Quality. These replaced my older SPEEDO gloves. Tried a cheaper pair but ended up going for better quality.

  7. best swimming gloves. finger’s covering goes all the way to tips of fingers. sturdy and durable

  8. Ensure that it’s gloves that you really want. For quality, I would definately go with these Speedo Aqua Fit Swim Training Gloves. Unlike what has been written about other gloves, the stitching on these is solid, and there have been no problems with the velcro closures on the wrist flaps. A solid value. I used to swim competitively as a teen. I bought these with the goal of swimming laps to get back into fitness. For me, this was a big mistake. These gloves create so much drag that freestyle becomes kind of a chore — and butter, back and breast become exceedingly difficult. Strong swimmers may benefit from the drag, but not for me when just getting back into swimming. I have since leanered that these gloves may be better suited to folks looking to take water aerobics classes. As warranted, research swim paddles and compare them to gloves like these to see if you might be interested in either or none.

Gigi’s fut. Wife loves exercise she gets from them .

  11. Good to Isolate Arms in Swimming. I had a similar pair awhile back and liked this type. Years ago, I mostly used plastic paddles, which were fine. Not sure what is meant by Water Resistance. The are in the water and so water moves through them some but gives me enough resistance at this time.

  12. great gloves for swimming. I saw many swim training gloves that were much cheaper, but I trusted Speedo and glad that I did. These gloves are durable, comfortable and quick to dry.I bought them for ocean reef swimming, where at lower tides, I grab onto the rocks and pull into a strong stroke with the other arm. They withstand the rock and craggy rocks, and also protect my hands from sea urchins, stone fish, eels, etc… (I am very careful not to touch any live coral, btw).In addition to this unique protection, these are of course, swim training gloves, and I immediately noticed more of a workout in my shoulders, and also more power through the stroke. I also find that I am able to relax my hand, into the spread-fingers position, and reduce my hand tension and fatigue.Good buy, even though the cost was 3x of other no-name webbed swim gloves, I do not regret spending more for quality, esp. given the extreme conditions i put them through.

  13. Swimming gloves. These are well made and they float! Easy to put on add a good amount of resistance to aquatic workouts. I recommend them highly!

Repeat order excellent fit and durability uses water aerobics 3 time weekly for 12 months. See title

Paying for name not quality. I swim over one hour per day of breast stroke, five days a week. I have just ordered, today, my third pair of this Speedo brand as they still last longer than others I have used in the past. The previous two pairs lasted nine months and seven months, both pairs failed with them coming apart at the seams. They do work for me, do not stretch out of shape, the neoprene material feels nice to wear, comfortable while swimming and dry quickly. They still look almost new but the poor seaming process lets them down, or maybe I have been unlucky with the two pairs I have bought. I am now using them for rehab following surgeries and were recommended to me by the rehabilitation center at the hospital which is why I changed to this brand.

  16. Love these fitness gloves. These are well made and fit perfectly! LOVE them. They are excellent for water resistance for exercising in a pool. Highly recommend!

  19. Amazon Customer October 4, 2024 at 12:00 am

Sturdy. Improves my pool aerobics workout. Yes, it made my forearms and upper arm work harder, but it also made the abs engage more to keep me in place.

  20. Durable product poor velcro fasteners. This is second pair. The first pair lasted over a year of water aerobics 3 to 4 times per week. The only weakness is the adjustable velcro fasteners around the wrist. The first pair worked well for several months before it was necessary to sew them to stay closed. The new pair failed on just the second time I used them. Fix that and they will be a great exercise tool.
