Beautiful Color, Well Worth Every $$. I purchased “Julep Beauty It’s Balm” in Canyon Rose 🌹 when looking for a lip stick. This was a happy surprise. This “lip stick” is a moisturizing lip color that delivers a natural gloss finish. The color appeared to be the perfect a Rose red onscreen. When I received my lipstick it appeared rather “purple-ish” but still within my “color pallet”. When I applied the Canyon Rose, the color was absolutely 💯 % perfect for me.!! The lipstick glides on leaving lips feeling soft, drenched with color & glossy. This could raise a “potential issue” for some people. CANYON ROSE has a natural, glossy finish.. This is a non-issue for me, however if you don’t care for a glossy finish, choose carefully while looking at the JULEP BEAUTY Lip Colors. There are many colors and finishes to choose from. I will be purchasing several additional items from Julep Beauty. I highly recommend these products. This lipstick is glorious ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Pretty, bold color but wears off quickly. This color is darker and bolder than I thought it would be— definitely NOT sheer coverage— more like bold lipstick. I like it but it fades/wears off very quickly.
My Desert Island Lippy Pick. If I had to pick only one lip color product to bring with me on a deserted island – or go on vacation, or to work, or for a Zoom call – currently, I’d pick this one.When it comes to makeup, I’m a minimalist. I want to do the bare minimum, while also (hopefully) enhancing my appearance.For that, this is PERFECT! I loved it so much that I bought a second one to keep in my purse for touch-ups.I prefer a cream lipstick, and this formula is similar to that feel. It’s smooth and keeps my lips soft – not waxy, sticky, or dry. It’s light and has no detectable odor. It does wear off while eating and easily wipes off, but it’s buildable from sheer to semi-opaque and mostly stays put if you don’t rub your lips on a coffee mug…or another person. Use a lip liner for added definition if that’s your thing.I have dark hair and fair skin with warm undertones, but flush pink (yeah, I dunno). I generally look best in neutral to pinky-neutral foundation and lip colors, and the mauve works perfectly for me. I have a hard time finding the perfect neutral in many lines, but this one gives just enough color while still appearing very natural.Happy I found this!
Nothing but compliments. Love at first application! My husband and a friend noticed my lips immediately! Already very pleased with the product. There is a lot of product provided inside the twist-up tube. Glides on very smoothly. Chose the bold shade with my fair Irish complexion, assuming it would be a light berry. Pleasantly surprised to find it was a beautiful, deep burgundy and it looks great. I reapplied often throughout the day. No odor, no taste. Love it. Will order again.
Keeps lips soft. I like the tint but doesn’t stay on long have to keep reapplying .
Moisturizing. I purchased this “Julep It’s Balm: Tinted Lip Balm + Buildable Lip Color” in the color Canyon Rose. I have very fair skin with cool undertones and dark lips. As a woman of a certain age I find dark lipsticks no longer suit me. Lip colors lighter than my lips look awful. I’m always searching for the perfect medium pink with cool tones. This is close.This is very moisturizing and glides on smoothly. It offers smooth, even coverage. I find this more flattering on me when applied lightly and topped with a light dab of Covergirl Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss in My Strawbooty.I like that this is made with natural products. What I didn’t like was the manufacturer packaging. It came in a box without seals and the product itself had no tamper evident seal. It was in an unsealed box and the cap just pulled off. I will likely not buy this again.
Smooth application, color is nice. Not long-lasting
Easy use lipstick. This lipstick glides on easily & had different colors to choose from.
Easy to apply, vibrant, lasting color. On first application, I was amazed. Despite the deep color, it was very easy to apply. Goes on smoothly, and easy to adjust with just a tissue. Wore through a long dinner, and while some color was lost, it didn’t wear off completely (and wasn’t patchy), so I didn’t need to reapply unless I wanted to. So easy and long-lasting I decided to wear during the day, with no regrets. Only downside is a slightly odd smell (not terrible, not great) that eventually went away after 2-3 uses. Ultimately liked this so much, ended up buying in another color, and will buy more.
It’s a pretty color. I thought it would be a little more glossy and moisturizing. I still like it. I just have to put a little lip balm on with it.
Exactly the shade I was looking for. I was nervous from the reviews about it being too pigmented, but I’m glad I still tried for myself. The first pic is a side by side of my bare lip vs the plum julep balm by itself. The second is plum julep with a lip liner, and the third one is how I usually wear it with no liner just a base layer of clear balm under the plum to mute it and hold it in place a little more, but I’m a fan will probably order again
Hydrating and Colorful, But the Applicator Could Use a Revamp. I was totally pumped to try the Julep Lip Balm after hearing all the hype about its amazing colors and how it’s super moisturizing. And yeah, it definitely delivers on the hydration front, but there were a few things that left me wanting more.Pros:Super hydrating: This balm is like a drink of water for your lips. Tons of colors: There’s a shade for every mood or outfit. Smooth application: It glides on like butter. Natural ingredients: Vitamin E and good stuff for your lips.Cons:Tricky applicator: It can be a bit finicky to get the perfect line. Shine fades fast: The gloss doesn’t last as long as I’d like.Overall, the Julep Lip Balm is a pretty good bet if you’re all about hydration and want a pop of color. It’s like a comfy blanket for your lips, but the shine doesn’t last as long as I’d like. And let’s be real, the applicator is a bit tricky. But if you love the colors and don’t mind a touch-up every now and then, it’s definitely worth checking out.
It’s just alright. Color not bad – not very moisturizing, dries down extremely quickly. I thought the balm would be more present. Packaging nice, although I’m not sure why they chose a white plastic applicator for a colored lip product – hard to keep clean. This color is alright for my collection, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase again.
I got Grape Jelly color. I LOVE IT. It goes on smooth with lots of color coverage. I’m so excited I found this product! I’m going to continue to buy Grape Jelly as my signature color! I’ve been looking for something like this for years. Grape Jelly is not a light tint, it has great color saturation. I highly recommend this product. I’m going to get a lighter color next time and see if I love it just as much.
Holy Grail lip balm. For years I’d worn long-last lipstick because I used to work 8-12 hour shifts, 5-6 days/week. My priority was rich, fully pigmented color that would last all day without reapplication and that would not smear or smudge. The only problem with long-last lipstick is that it’s very drying, so I’d sometimes have to deal with chapped lips.Now that I’m retired, my priority is moisture and comfort. No more need for the long-last lipstick. I’ve used Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer. That’s a great product but, because my natural skin color is tan, I found the tint too light for me. It just didn’t show up on my lips.Enter Julep It’s Balm. I was surprised at how deep the color was–it looked like lipstick! But you can apply this without a mirror. I swipe my bottom lip, then the middle of my top lip, and press my lips together, and my lips are comfortably smooth. It’s Balm provides good moisture with a welcome, natural-looking pop of color on my lips. Yes, it comes off with eating and drinking, but it’s easy to reapply. It’s non-sticky. It’s scent- and flavor-free, which I love. I have one on my nighstand and one in my handbag. It fits easily into a pocket. I’ve never before seen a lip balm that provided definitive but natural-looking lip color. BTW, I ordered Cherry Wood Creme and Black Cherry. Cherry Wood Creme is a deep, subtle red. Black Cherry is a heavily pigmented blue-red that also stains your lips. When I want just moisture, not another application of color, I swipe my lips with the top of the balm–the vitamin E core. A little color goes a long way, so I can see where these lip balms would last a while.I think I’m rambling now, but I love this product. It’s a little pricey (yes, I’m a cheapskate), so I signed up for subscribe and save for these two colors. Great product. I can’t recommend highly enough.

SOFT LIPS, GOOD COLOR, STRANGE SMELL. I love how this lip balm/ lipstick/lipgloss just glides on without any fuss! The color is a bright mid-pink that everything other than serious lipstick seems to turn on me :-/ I live in a dry climate and sometimes mouth-breath when allergies are bad. It’s a good everyday color and texture for me.The only problem is a strange smell. It could be an ingredient, or some strange person thought I wanted fragrance on my lips. Either way, it irritates my nasal passages a bit. I’ll use this lip crayon, but I’ll think twice before buying another color. If there were a way to eliminate the smell, Julep would be my very favorite everyday lip balm!FINAL UPDATE: Smell fades over time, and doesn’t bother me days when my other allergies are under control. I did order another color for myself and one for a friend.UPDATE! So here’s the deal. There is a page and a half of chemical ingredients in each lip balm (I’m not saying it’s toxic). I guess the vanillin is to make it smell/taste like vanilla instead of like all the chemicals, but it doesn’t work for me. No added fragrance, so I must be somewhat sensitive to one of the ingredients. Absolutely no skin irritation, just a strange smell.Good news is that one of the ingredients is titanium dioxide, so there is some sun protection. I would like to know what SPF.
Grape Jelly – Canyon Rose – Vintage Mauve. I love Julep brand. I also use their eye shadows and I’m planning on buying more from them. My skin is normal-dry, fair, and it is pretty sensitive to some drug store brands. I usually don’t wear makeup and I try to use good brands like Estée lauder or Lancôme.I use these colored lip balms to keep them moisturized during the winter, usually without other makeup in my face.- Grape Jelly. It is darker than I thought. I still like the color, purple make your teeth look whiter lol. The darkness goes away pretty easily and it doesn’t moisturize my lips as much as Canyon Rose and Vintage Mauve. I would rate it 3.75/5.- Canyon Rose and Vintage Mauve. Very neutral colors but I feel they last longer than a regular colored balm from other brands. They feel very moisturizing. I would rate them 5/5.
Best lip product ❤️✨. I always struggle with dry skin and really pale lips, I tried a lot of balms to keep my lips hydrated and all of them feel like I have oil on my lips, they never felt soft and truly hydrated, but this balm covers all my needs, it keeps my lips very soft, is easy to speak or smile because my skin is truly hydrated, it tints my lips in give them color, it lasts many hours and is true to the color you’re buying, has high pigmentation, looks like you have a lipstick on but, it’s a balm! Lol I get it now :)Is a very high quality product for its price, the best lip product, I’m in the process of buying more colors! 💖
when you lick your lips the taste is absolutely awful. I love the color, but dang when you lick your lips it tastes like perfume and chalk. Not good – I mean you lick your lips just by nature of being alive- so yeah, there’s that.
Perfect shades. I can’t say enough great things about Julep! Their colors are amazing ing and so moisturizing…. I bought brown sugar first and just love it! So natural looking! I then purchased vintage mauve and it was another perfect color! If you’ve been searching for a beautiful natural mauve without the obvious purple tint then this is it! I used to wear a Clinique mauve but it was discontinued and have been searching forever for a replacement and am so happy to have finally found it! It goes so well with juleps muted mauve 2 in 1 color stick which is perfect for cheeks . However it is a bit light for lips so I use a good pencil first to color on lips and then go over that with the 2-1… definitely a favorite company for me!
Feels nice, color not as shown. I like the feel of this balm and the amount of color it leaves, however, the color itself is not as described. I got the dusty orchid shimmer. It is too pale with a slight orangey tint to it and not much shimmer. Nothing like the color on the different models and their different skin tones. I’ll get another color to try but this one isn’t it!
The color is beautiful. I have very sensitive lips/skin and I have a hard time using lipsticks, chopsticks etc but so far so good on this product
Nice. This lip balm is great. Soft buttery not sticky or gloppy. Just a hint of shine and a bit of color. I’d like the color to last a bit longer than it does. I’ve found the top doesn’t stay on. I tossed it my small crossbody bag and reached in for something and had lip balm all over my fingers and bag. It either needs its own small pouch or it can’t travel.
