UPDATE: great customer service, great product. 2nd UPDATE – I received the promised replacement very quickly, and I’m happy to report that it works great. It pulverized some nutritional yeast flakes to a fine powder with no problems. My initial product was a dud, which I’m sure happens to every seller from time to time. I am confident in recommending this grinder, because even if you get the odd dud, this company has excellent customer service, eager to keep their customers happy.UPDATE – Someone at the company must’ve been monitoring the reviews, and saw mine, because I was quickly contacted and offered a replacement. Haven’t received it yet, but I wanted to upgrade my review in the mean time to reflect the excellent, attentive customer service of this seller, which seems to be in short supply these days. They clearly stand behind their products and want their customers to be satisfied. I’ll update again when I receive the replacement.Original review – Didn’t realize until after trying to pulverize some pricey dried herbs that the inner metal bowl was not fully connected/sealed to the outer container. Powder started shooting out the bottom of the unit, meaning it had filtered down from the bowl, through the motor, and put through the vents in the bottom. This might be just a bum unit, but I’m giving it one star for now for my personal experience with it. If the seller addresses the problem satisfactorily, I’ll change my rating.
Loud and small, but good blending power. This little coffee grinder is perfect for small countertops, and doesn’t take up very much space at all.It is, however, pretty small. It usually takes me 2 goes to get enough grinds for a full 12 cup pot of coffee. If you overfill it, you’ll end up with a mess on your counter. I’ve found the easiest way to empty is to UNPLUG it, and dump it straight out of the base. You can also try the “flip over and tap” method to get it all into the clear cup, but if you don’t tap it correctly (and get more on one side, or you’ve put too much in) you may have a bit of a mess. It’s quick, but also pretty loud, so I recommend NOT using it when the baby is sleeping in the next room…
It’s messy. I initially purchased the grinder to the left in my photo. Both work well—good power, not terribly loud, efficient (the one to the left seems like it may have had a bit more power but not enough to make a difference to me). However the one to the left has a tight fitting lid and the unit generates a lot of static electricity. This results in a messy little explosion of coffee grounds all over the counter when the lid is removed after grinding. If I am patient and wait 30 seconds for the static to dissipate and am careful about removing this snugly fitting lid there is no mess. But patience is not one of my virtues before having coffee in the morning. So I tried the other unit and it does not seem to generate the same static electricity. One other point is the cord. The unit to the left (the static generator) has a longer cord but no cord storage. The one to the right has a shorter cord with cord storage built in (under the unit, wrap around style) and this also works better for me on my counter top. Hope this helps
Highly versatile. I got this for a spice grinder and have found several uses for it. I keep it handy because it is so easy to use, works really well, and is easy to clean. It’s my pepper grinder when I want more than a dash of fresh ground black pepper. It works great on fennel for Italian dishes that call for fennel. It’s a great little blender for small batches of dry mixes like homemade taco seasoning, homemade ranch mix or to just blend up some spices. I just wipe it out with a paper towel when done and it is ready to go for the next time.
Fantastic coffee bean grinder. I purchased this so I could have freshly ground coffee. And this grinder does not disappoint. I did 3 rounds of grinding to fill up my coffee container but it grinds so throughly and quickly. I LOVE it and am VERY happy that I purchased it. The next time I grind I’ll make a video and update this review. Also, very easy to clean. Yes, I recommend this grinder.
Lawsuit: made in China not Austria. This little grinder works fine for grinding up flaxseeds. I have had it eight months and no problems. I only wish that the inner cup part was washable. It has to be wiped down by hand.Also, just recently I received notice that there is a lawsuit against this company for false advertising. Despite the brand name Mueller Austria, this grinder is made in China. To become compensated by the class action lawsuit you have to provide your name, address, phone number and email address. I don’t think I want to share all that info with a Chinese company!
Powerful almighty bean grinder. I love this little machine so much I bought it a second time bc I dropped and broke my first one. Does an exceptional job on coffee beans and dry spices. Do not attempt to use for wet foods like pestos and salsa. I like buying whole bean coffee and this makes me have a happy little cup every morning 😊
Good brand. I got it for an unusual use, to make egg shell powder, a natural and easier to absorb source of calcium for my pets, it works great even when grinding egg shells is like sandpaper.Mueller is a great brand -Have their coffee maker- and after a great experience with their customer’s service I would probably use same brand for all my kitchen gadgets.
Coffee DeLux. Does what it says . . . . grinds coffee. I washed it out and used it immediately when received. I ground about a cup of grounds. It’s not as loud as my 40 year old KRUPS grinder (it finally died because i washed it) This looks and sounds like a good replacement.
Like it. Usefull, durable, easy to use works great!
